Does a country or its citizen needs politicians? Can we do without them?

Some can stay...but most need to go away!...and get a real job! -
We are not a society that can go on un-governed...although there are aspects of the government that seem to be phased out by popular opinion... Even if there were't "politics" there would be a natural formation of power...it's been that way since forever.-
The level of corruption and self interest has reached an intolerable level and not just in politics. -

Politicians are neccesary because they bog down and tie up government so us citizens can be largely left alone. Next time you think of your freedom, thank a politican!-
Politicians ARE the government. Citizens are supposed to keep a check on government (ie politicians). This is why you have the right to keep and bear arms.

Of course we need politicians. If it wasn't for them we would probably have gone back to the stone ages long ago.
Granted that, in any country, most of them will have a bad image. But after all that is being said and done, we need them to represent out collective consciousness. -

Can we do without the ones we have now? Of course. Can we do without any at all? Of course not. We are a self-governing society, and governing is politics. If you want to remain a free society, they're vital. If you don't want to, getting rid of politicians and everybody else who thinks for themselves is the first step.
