It snowed here yesterday and I still have a dusting on the ground. Am I a winter person? Well I don't mind the winter and the snow but I really don't enjoy the ice on my mountain road.

I envy you. Over here, it snows just once or twice a year.

Coming up to summer her now in Australia, prefer the winter though. We still get nice sunny weather in winter here but a bit cooler. Wouldn't like to live in a really cold country with snow though, too cold.

Isn't Australia a little bit scary with all the Box Jellyfish, Sharks, Snakes, and Spiders?

Thats what its all about living here, you get used to it, Oh and don't forget cane toads, here they are everywhere at night. Backyard, front yard, roads but its part of living in such a great country. You also get used to seeing the big Huntsman spiders crawling along the inside walls of your house, some nearly half the size of your hand. Its great!
Have a look at this picture members.iinet.net.au/~pterren/Spider_Dads_hand.JPG found on Google.

No, thank you. That was *so* creepy.

I love winter. (And nice photo, btw.)

Where I'm from originally, we had our first snow fairly reliably by Nov. 11. And then, until April there was between 2 and 4 feet of standing snow.

Where I live now, snow is less frequent and falls in smaller amounts.

They don't hurt, their venom is very light, only gives you a little tingle. Been bitten by them before but nothing happens.

Nothing happens? Are you sure? Did you look at a mirror lately? I'm afraid you've gone monochromatic.
  6. time2getdown
Hahaha, well I guess if you include heart attack from the fright then I suppose your right.

God, no! Summer is my season, always has been. I've disliked cold and snow ever since I was a kid. A t-shirt, a pair of shorts, bare feet and a long beach to walk on. That's my idea of Paradise.

I am with nothingprofound. I feel mellow, creative, productive and pleasant to be with in summer. All I have to wear is a big sun-hat, some 30+ sunblock cream and a bathing suit.

But come June, July and August, I feel depressed, sluggish and unsociable. The concept of seasonal affective disorder was invented to explain MY sad behaviour in winter

Winter weather is not for me. I enjoy the tropical climate.

I am not a lover of winter, in the UK the cold and damp gets through and into your bones. Not pleasent. Aside from the occasional snow fall.
but hey ho a cup of tea will always warm you up

I'm definitely NOT a Winter person (particularly after suffering mild frostbite years ago,) which is why I moved to S. Louisiana.

I am a fan of winter because you can stay in.

I used to be a winter person and grew up in Maine with feet and feet of snow. Then in my twenties I went to live in the tropics for many years and ever since I don't seem to be a full fledged winter person again. Although I do get out and do winter activities.

It's the 70's here. My kids went trick or treating with out coats. I would love to show my kids some real snow though.

I live in the humid south. I love winter so I can go outside and not end up in a pool of sweat soaked goo.

    Yes. Favorite season

Winter has to be my favorite season. The kids and I love sledding all day and then spending the evening by the fire with hot chocolate.

Same 3 pictures combined, but with different HDR settings (through Photomatix):

I was already irritated you had a view like that. Now I'm just pissed.

I don't really know how you can complain at least you get a summer over where you live. Our summers are exactly the same as your winters.

I have a dream to never see a grey, dreary winter again for the rest of my life.

If I have enough money one day *sigh*, I am going to sell the family home (the children got married years ago) and buy two small flats, one in Melbourne and one in the northern hemisphere.

That way I will work for 9 pleasant months of the year here (Sept-May inclusive) and spend 3 months of the year (June-August inclusive) sunning myself around the Mediterranean Sea.

I like Winter with the sunshine. Gray sky makes me lazy.

I like to ski and I'll use any excuse to torment hot cocoa, so yeah, I'm probably guilty!

Winter in South Florida is BS, but yes I mostly loved the winters in PA and NY where I grew up. Shoveling sucks, so do car accidents and icy roads, but I miss it a little and I HATE Florida!
  23. dfunzy
    do not like winter.
  24. Hels

When the Russians wanted to punish or exile someone, did they send him to one of the southern beach resorts? No! They sent him to Siberia.

Think about it. The cold WAS the punishment. It still is.

I dislike travelling in the winter to go to work, but I loooove the cocooning / hibernation feeling to winter.
