Reliance can be addiction, but often it's not.
Those of us who live out in the sticks are majorly inconvenienced when we have car trouble. Our lives grind to a halt. This is not addiction, it's reliance on life-an enabling tool.
And the internet is like any other such tool; invisible and taken for granted while it's there, but crippling when it is absent.
But for what it's worth, while I am reliant and not addicted, I'd really rather keep it please ;>

I am - and have been since 1996. It's an admitted addiction. I've been off for over 48 hours and when I come back, she's always waiting with a smile and bow.

The internet can waste a lot of my time with pointless hypnotic sites.

Well maybe because apart from blogging for Onesuite, I also get my news from the internet not to mention information I need for personal growth and job related materials.
Of course I also have social networking accounts I get to log in everyday plus emails to reply...actually I'm on the internet more than half of my waking hours everyday. -
