Christian rock/pop music makes me feel physically ill. But if the music is good and the lyrics aren't evangelical I quite enjoy music with a spiritual/religious aspect to it.

A lot music by early U2 is very spiritual. A lot of Motown also has spiritual overtones.
I will say the the popularity of "How Far is Heaven" was a little too much for me. That was overtly religious and was being played all over secular stations.

God uses music, all types of music, to reach people. It softens the heart for Him to speak to us.
For example:

God speaks to me through these types of songs. -
Too bad this post has not received more hits. I believe worship music causes more division in the church than almost any other thing. Worship should not cause this division since it is the tool God uses to open the mind to hearing His Word. It just happens that rock or contemporary worship music like Chris Tomlin, Jeremey Riddle and others write that move me.
