Just about every one of us has been affected by it in one way or the other. I have been thinking more and more about ways of trying to save more money and get myself out of debt instead of more into debt. I was even more inspired to do more by a short video in a post I wrote (whereisthatmoney.blogspot.com/2008/12/beating-global-credit-crunch.html) to seek out those steps to get myself and my family more financially stable.

I am going to write a few post on things people can try and do to save more money and to kick it off, I thought I might ask you guys what you are doing (if anything) to spend less but still live life. I will post responses (one is enough and please keep it short and simple) in a short post with links through to your blogs so be sure to put the blog you want me to link to. I will publish the post on Sunday the 7th.

So, what steps are you taking to beat the CRUNCH?

No responses from anyone? This must mean you are all doing very well.

I've never bought into the buy - buy - buy, more - more - more consumer mentality hence I'm not in debt.

good for you, I on the other hand wasnt able to be like that but I am getting there now. A good amount of my debt has been from travel - home is very far away for me and getting my family and I there costs a fair penny and we just feel the need to go home now and then.

I've heard that banks aren't lending, to anyone. I might need a new car soon and have great credit, but wonder if I'm going to have trouble finding someone to borrow from.

Last I heard... 65% of the people dont qualify for loans, and the 35% that do, dont want to buy anything via a loan!

My wife and I are almost depth free so the credit crunch has not hurt us. We are not any worse off than we were 8 years ago and in fact we are better off even though I make less income.

The tax relief President Bush put into place has benefited me by about $2000 per year.

I fear than is about to change.

In the last year we got all our credit cards paid off. All that hard work has been worth it and we are doing good.

I owe no money to anyone. I paid off my student loans a couple of years ago and I always pay my credit cards immediately when and if I use them (which is rare). I hate owing money to anyone.

I can barely beat up Captain Crunch but I'm hanging in there okay. I was raised by paranoid parents and some of their caution stuck with me. I've always been careful with money I don't have, never having much made it easier to not over charge

If you are in business, and need financing to survive (as most do), it's a shit show. A daily battle. We had a recently launched retail chain stopped dead in its tracks. The business is ok, the expansion and development - not so much.
