There are various reasons for doing this. But are you doing it?

I'm not, and it's not a priority right now.

This isn't an effort to be confrontational: but why should I want to increase RSS reader count?

Mine increases a little bit at a time. A lot of people (in my experience) will simply bookmark a site and visit it rather than use an RSS feed.

I think in the week that the revamped site has been active I've gotten maybe 25 subscribers to the feed. As Norski said, it's not really an issue.

If you are looking for advice I would spend more focus on getting content then worry about your feed. It's a handy extra gadget but not one that makes or breaks your success and social profile.

I only read via my google reader (mostly) and know quite a few others do to. Over the last few months I have noticed a large increase in feed readers on my blog, mainly due to the increase in friendfeed users (I think).

Pssst... hey, intellectual... "to" is spelled "too"
    2. crpitt
I never said I was an intellectual, but thanks.

Hey models, you're lucky she must be in a great mood today or she'd have ripped you a new one.
    4. crpitt
Did I rip you a new one, is that why your knickers are in a twist?

My feed has stalled out recently... it works fine but I just don't have alot of people subscribing for some reason.

How old is the blog? Do you have the google connect widget?

increasing shows true readership. And if you write fore people, they will spread the word. RSS can account for monetization purposes too
    1. Norski
      That answers my question: thanks.

BTW, "write fore people" should probably be "write for people" - I use a spellchecker myself, but I don't trust it.

I'm not really doing anything, but it is increasing.

I think the google friend connect thingy helps, because that automatically adds to RSS reader.
    2. MissSuzie
      That makes sense.

And here I thought it was because I'm just that damn good.
    3. crpitt
Well that too, because they wouldn't want to connect otherwise
    4. MissSuzie
See, I am special. I knew I belonged on that short bus.
    5. crpitt
      You are very special

Someday on my deathbed I'll understood what all ths RSS-feed-google-widget talk means. Maybe.
    1. crpitt
RSS is just another way of reading blogs, it is like getting all the blogs that you follow and getting them to post in the same place.

Have more than very few ~Sigh I think will give more effort to Google connect as crpitt said.
