Hi, everybody!
I live in Tuscany, Italy; today I went to the supermarket and I found out that almost 3/4 of the people inside weren't Italians.
If, for case, you are in Italy, where do you come from? Do you like the way you are spending your leisure time? If not, why?
What do you like/miss the most?

If you are here, I hope you enjoy your time!

I visited Italy a couple of years from the UK, it was a fantastic short trip, great weather, great food and great scenery.

Claire, I hope your mumborg enjoyed that trip together with you; if she wasn't, then you must repeat it! If you can't, then you just sketch it! Your drawing-language is as comprehensive as all of your rich, champagne-bubbling words. Cheers!

No mumborg on that trip, I went with friends. I would absolutely love to go again and for much longer

      Thanks for the lovely compliment

Hi, Claire! Thanks for your link; I visited your blog (again) and admired all of your mosaic - photos. I'm glad to read posts about Pisa, Lucca, etc. written by foreign people who visited them; it gives me new angles of perspective on places I know well. For me it's always interesting!

      Oh thanks

I will make it back to Italy one of these days

Ciao! I'm part Italian (like for 1/8 part of me hehe) and I will probably go to Rome somewhere in October to see some friends of mine. I probably have relatives there but I need to research that haha.
    1. mormora
Tahira, if you start searching for your relatives here in Italy, you might discover 20 of them! Are you ready for that?
You know, Italian families always count at least 10 people...
What if you discover that you are more Italian then what you think?
Till now I discovered that I am 1/8 Hungarian, 1/8 German, 1/8 Croatian, 1/8 Italian, 1/8 ... (How many 1/8 is there totally, hehehe...??? It's so relative!)
Let us know how it was in Rome, please!
    2. TJlubrano
Wow, that's going to be one big family! Hahahah perhaps a little perparation is need...but the more the merrier right! I would love to know who my relatives are.
Let's see up till now I discovered I have Italian, Portuguese, Indian, African and Arabic influences in me. It really is relative haha. But you're a cool mix!

and ofcourse I'll let you guys now how it was in Rome!! There will be a blog about it for sure haha!

I have just come back from Italy, I went to Naples and Positano, with trips to Pompeii, Amalfi and Ravello. Beautiful places. Loved it and will definitely go back.
    1. mormora
      Hi, obviouslydarren!
You've seen some really nice places! As you promised, we hope you'll write more about Positano later. I hope to see some photos too; I've seen nice photos that crpitt made, now I love Italy even more!
    2. mormora
Ciao, Obviously Darren! Your post “Picture Perfect Positano” totallyobviously.blogspot.com/2009/08/picture-perfect-positano.html is full of nice photos and helpful tips for those who intend to visit Costa Amalfitana or, simply, Italy.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us

    1. mormora
      Hi there!
We'll be happy if you come again! Cinque Terre is just the beginning of your trips, let's hope!
Have you seen the film Under the Tuscan Sun?
During her Italian vacation to Tuscany, a girl finds a villa for sale... Be careful
Oh, and, did your Party Doll join the Art Day event on Bloggers Unite? Her dress would fit perfectly!
Please, keep telling us about her!

Actually I would love to go to Italy, if I ever get the time to arrange it.
    1. mormora
      Hello, April!
I'm sure you'll arrange that! I first visited Italy at the age of 22 and, succumbing as artist and person to it's beauty, I totally fell in love.
Take your time; then come to Italy and enjoy your visit!

My family is from Calabria. I got married in Positano on the Amalfi Coast. We stayed in a castle in Sienna and had a blast in Tuscany. The best meal ever was on a late night winding road back from Pisa to Sienna and we stopped at a vinyard with an open restaurant. Everything from the olive oil to the bread to the meal was just about one the the greatest dinners ever. Everyone should visit Tuscany. I live in the U.S.
    1. mormora
Oh, I’ve lived in Basilicata for two years but I haven’t visited Calabria yet. The last 4 Italian regions for me still to visit are Sicilia, Calabria, Molise and Val d’Aosta. The rest is done!
Now I live in Tuscany, in Pisa County. We have the vineyard, but not the restaurant, unfortunately! Well, we make some wine, but it is just for us...
I'm glad you like Tuscany; maybe you could visit again to celebrate your marriage anniversary here? Anyway, I'm sure that the place where you live in US is nice too!

Damn, I seriously need to travel more.
    1. tcinvestor
Yes. You should. However, your country is quite a wonderful spot as well.
    2. mormora
I hope you'll find a way to do what you really like. Traveling opens your mind, wherever you go. It gives you time to remember, time to forget and, most of all, the precious time to do JUST what YOU need.

I am learning Italian online and am loving every minute. Hubby and I are hoping one of his job applications hits and one is for a post in Rome!

Ci auguriamo che il nostro desiderio si avvera!

      Cathy, I hope he’ll get it! Rome is… you’ll see 8D
Spero anch’io che il vostro desiderio si avveri!
  11. aspotofblog
@tcinvestor: Yes, but I don't travel often enough. I'd like to take a year off and just see a lot of faraway places. Or get an around-the-world ticket.
  12. neo1962
I hear Italy is very beautiful, but I can't afford a visit anytime soon.
    1. mormora
Well, neo, one can never know! In the meantime you can try a virtual trip! (see MATRIX :])

Say hello to Elisabetta Canalis if she's around. Aspetto sano!
    1. mormora
Well, you'll understand me if I tell you that if I meet Elisabetta Canalis, that means George Clooney’s around too, so I doubt I'll have time to bother Elisabetta Canalis
    2. cathy13
You distract her and I will lead George away....deal?
    3. mormora
      Ok, Cathy, it's a deal!
  14. NatetheGrate
I've never been to Italy, thanks. :-(
    1. mormora
There's always time for that! Italy is standing still here, waiting for you to visit it
  15. SaNn
