Are you more of a reader or a writer?

Topics: blogging, blogs, books, reading, writing
This relates to blog networking, but generally speaking... how do the two compare in your blogging world, and in your non-blogging world?
I like to read a good blog now and then, but as far as reading goes, I'd rather read nonblogs (books, papers, news, magazines), but I like to write too. Are most bloggers more interested in writing blogs than reading blogs? Just wondering out loud.

it depends on my mood. I write more often when I'm feeling more emotional and I feel the need to express myself through words. Writing for me, is thereupetic. Reading is more a more passive activity, it helps me fall asleep. Reading is relaxing. Writing is, as an activity is more stimulating.

That's an interesting question. I do enjoy reading blogs, and I read more than I write. But I find that I switch between being a blog reader and a book reader. If I'm in the mood for a book, then there's no pulling me away, and my rss reader gets full of unreads. If I'm in the mood to read blogs, I stop reading books. I am not a writer, though I'd like to become better at it.

I tend to forget about or lose interest in blogs unless the person writes everyday or more. I'm really not much of a blog reader. The computer hurts my eyes and gives me a headache sometimes. I much prefer reading offline, especially books. Science fiction mostly but I read almost everything.

More of a writer, because it's my job as well as my hobby. But I love reading as well. I read a certain routine of blogs, plus I always have a book going, and also read news online.

I do both, but it does depend on what time I have to waste. As I'm a student I don't have that much free time (believe it or not) so I spend most of the free time I do have writing. On the weekend though I do like to read other blogs, particularly the ones I follow. I find it interesting how different the styles of writing are in different blogs and how professional they all seem to look.

I am always more of a reader than a writer. But, as you read more, it becomes necessary to write to truly understand what you are reading. Grammar, structure, and many aspects of the written word are not taught by reading. Writing increases the ability to discern the quality, effort, and even truthfulness of what someone is writing.

more of a drinker. but any good writer would tell you that you should read more than you write just to make your own writing better.

In terms of time, I probably write more than I read. For some reason it takes me longer to come with a page of words than to read someone else's words already written down.
However, I do read a lot. I read more off-line - books and newspapers - but I do read some blogs. If I had to pick a site that I follow most often, I really like to wander around Wikipedia. -
I'm definately more of a writer than reader. I despised reading in school and never thought I would like to write.
