Are you using Twitter to promote your blog. How is that going?

I've just started using Twitter and wondered how many of you are using it as a tool for promoting your blog and if you have any tips or results to share.

i get a few hits from it each time and i only have 32 followers. definitely worth posting it. just don't make every tweet about your blog. it'll get old after a while...

Hi there,
I do understand that you are looking for discussion but I want to point out some useful features to you.

There are 13 twitter groups at BC. The link to the Group search is found at the top of every BC page. www.blogcatalog.com/groups The largest BC twitter group has over 1,000 members. Here's the link www.blogcatalog.com/group/twitter

(1) Look in the sidebar over here _________________________________>
You will see there are several Related Discussions and you can click, read and find links to twitter resources posted into forum threads.

(2) Look a little lower down in the sidebar _________________________________>
You will see Discussion Search and you can type in "twitter" and find all the forum threads, read and locate all the resource links for using twitter that have ever been posted into forum threads.

(3) Look even lower down in the sidebar again and you will see Related Blog Posts _________________________________>

  I do tweet my blogpost. I try to make the tweet interesting to tweak interest. I have much better link through from twitter than facebook.

I try not to over promote my blog, but I do mention it.
I tweet about useful and curious things, besides showing my opinion on certain events.

I try to follow people of similar interests. My blog's a football blog so about half of the people I follow are also football bloggers or sports bloggers (the other half are PR people). And talk about things relevant to your blog on Twitter.

  Try using www.twitscoop.com it gives you a real time look at what is trending on twitter. As well, you can search for things to find people.

I tweet for other blogs/site, so I am promoting for others, the only promotional tools for me is that the my blog link below my name. Else, always goes to unknown place. but somebody seems like my tweets so I am going on, day by day.

Yes, it brings a few hits but am new to it. As above mentioned, I don't over plug my blogs, I think people will only visit if you interest them with your twitters, not just because the link is there.
