My wife and i still practice safe sex...we put vaseline on the locked doorknob so that the kids can't barge in.

    :-)

AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
    2. newward
      LMAO! Oh that was perfect!
  2. tjefferson85
I left a comment on your article. All of those factors play a part in the orverall decision of using protection or not. I think the most important one, length of the relarionship. If you have long-term goals and you see the relationship progressing, you and your partner should discuss rhe issues you both have and weight the pros and cons of each decision.
  3. gingerbeer25
    @RTB...I like the Vaseline tip.
  4. HelloAnnie
No vaseline, no protection, no pills: just natural goodness. We've been married forever.
  5. CrystalRaven
Married almost 16 years, I have my tubes tied, nada now
    1. SweetViolet
In the same ballpark here...married almost 5 years, had a hysterectomy eons ago, no protection necessary.

(Yah...I know some husbands cheat, but I'm trusting that mine doesn't.)
  6. DaVincisBlogLog
lol at the vaseline...of course this is mostly for unmarried couples...but still the rates of infidelities makes it so that even in committed relationships you need to be careful
    1. earthlingorgeous
I agree with what you are saying @ davinci even married people cheat to their partners for life threatening their health and their partner.

safe sex is no sex at all if you can take that!

I left a comment on your blog too.
  7. tjefferson85
Your right DaVinci, the unexpected happens to often to not have any safeguards. Once you stop trusting though it will make the situation worse before it gets better though.
    1. DaVincisBlogLog
I think it's sad that we even have to think about this these days in "committed" relationships and marriage.

I'm still optimistic about people being faithful though, lol...even knowing the stats
  8. annaswan
Before I was married - this wasn't even an issue that was up for debate. It was simply a given - no protection, no sex. I had various reasons, a sexually transmitted disease being the #1 and an unplanned pregnancy being just below that. But in all honesty - had I not had a close friend contract a disease, I'm not sure my attitude would have been the same. I may well have been more lax, had I not seen the devistation of an STD first hand. That's just the brutal truth. Her situation scared me so badly - I just never quite got past that, and never "risk it"... for no one, for no reason. *shrugs* I don't know, maybe had that not happened to such a close friend... I just don't know.
    1. DaVincisBlogLog
I agree that many people who never have things like this hit close to home are so much more lax about it...probably because of the "it won't happen to me" syndrome
  9. Anok
The Mr and I use continue to use birth control (condoms) to prevent pregnancy before we are ready to have another child.

    That's about it.
    1. bradhart
The problem with condoms and the pill can and do fail. Our son was a failure of the first. Then we decided the pill would be much safer. She had been on the pill for 10 years, since the birth of our son, without ever missing a day. We decide that no more kids would be ideal and I should get a vasectomy. 4 days before I was scheduled for the surgery she finds out that damned pill failed us, my thought is it did it out of spite...
    2. Anok
I can't take the pill - all those artificial hormones are no good for me. (They make me terribly ill).

And of course condoms can fail...it wouldn't be the end of the world right now if I got pregnant though, either. So it's just that bit of extra assurance until we're ready to plan to have another child.

But if I got pregnant right now, it wouldn't be terrible or anything.
    3. bradhart
I agree an unexpected pregnancy isn't the worst thing that can happen no matter how it happens but is certainly is a shock when it does happen and you are planning on making sure it can't happen.
    4. Anok
Oh, yeah it would be a shock But it would still be a good shock
    5. DaVincisBlogLog
I think it's nice to hear that people still plan pregnancies, lol
  10. DaVincisBlogLog
Yea I have to say so much drilling goes into teenagers when as adults many of us are not practicing safe sex and aren't in monogamous relationships and even when we are people are cheating.

Also there are far too many unwanted pregnancies happening, stds, etc...
  11. 4Freedoms
As a tantric sex and kama sutra mentors, we still practicing safe sex. This brings us to long and lasting relationships and healthy sex.
    1. DaVincisBlogLog
very interesting...from what I know most do teach about safety practices.
  12. NikkiCorrupt
All Of The Time...u cant trust anyone
    1. DaVincisBlogLog
      glad to hear it
  13. calais50
This reminds me of an episode of "My Name is Earl." A guy hires a hooker, but doesn't have a condom, so instead, he uses the free shower cap provided by the hotel. When he discovers he has a disease, his response is "damn shower cap!"
    1. DaVincisBlogLog
wow, very sad...but what's worse is there are plenty of people who do try to use silly things as protection substitutes...or even the pull out method
  14. ModelElaine
As we say in Russia, Recipe for safe sex is "sleep at home, sleep alone"
    1. DaVincisBlogLog
      lol, good one
  15. henchmanmike
Married... But man was it fun being single.
  16. Sylvia
I safely tie my husband to the bed regularly.
    1. Anok
Yes! We can't have them bouncing off the bed.

      That would be dangerous
    2. blackzero85
      lol...

      This topic is hilarious.
  17. aningeniousname
I am a great advocate for safe sex, I always ring her first and make sure I know exactly how long her husband will be out for.
    1. DaVincisBlogLog
      lol too much
  18. atlprincess
I use condoms in the beginning of any relationship. After its gotten a little more serious, we can both get tested and go for the gold.
    1. DaVincisBlogLog
sounds like the sentiments of most
  19. ekim941
I've been abstinent for 3 years. Aside from the carpal tunnel syndrome, that's pretty safe.
  20. Jeunelle
I've been abstinent for years too and about to hump on something pretty soon. Throw me a leg or something, like a blow up doll and I will flatten that sucker.
If I do decide to partake in "DA NASTY", condoms are a must, unless we are married
and we have yearly blood test and sit down and share our results together.
    1. ekim941
Condoms would be a must for me too.
I mean, you want the FULL 2 seconds, don't you
    2. Jeunelle
Wow a whole 2 seconds...Will you marry me?
I want a good honeymoon and brand new cadillac.

Its the least you can do if I have to put up with your Full 2 seconds of much ado about nothing.
    3. ekim941
I guess I could wear 2 condoms and give you 4 seconds.
Gosh woman, I am not a machine. (that's in your top drawer).
    4. Jeunelle
@ekim941...hey hey hey...let's not go into what's in my top draw.
I keep my lizards in there and gladiator outfit which is the perfect size for you.
    5. Jeunelle
Bring your own helmet and sandals.
    6. ekim941
Gladiator outfit? I was thinking more along the lines of wearing the alien outfit again, Uhh, I mean, for the first time ever.
    7. Jeunelle
Oh Ok...Well that can work too...
Do you know how to probe?
Or do I have to show you how it's done?
    8. ekim941
      Yes.

Step one- Open your top drawer.

Step two- Ooops, not supposed to talk about your top drawer.
    9. timethief
      @ekim & Jeunelle
I howled . I literally howled with laughter all the way through your exchange. My cheeks hurt from laughing. Too funny.
      ..... I ♥ it
    10. Jeunelle
Heheheheee you all are going to get cancelled for sure.

Yeah TT my cheeks are red, I can't stop laughing either.
    11. ekim941
Jeunelles cheeks hurt too but not from laughing
    12. Jeunelle
I recommend spanking...it's a good way to keep the cheeks
      in top shape.
    13. ekim941
So, probing with a side order of spanking, is that for here or to go?
    14. Jeunelle
This ain't no drive through sucker.
    15. ekim941
      Sucker? I hardly know her.
    16. Jeunelle
That's your problem. I'm busy with my lizards...deal with it.
    17. DaVincisBlogLog
omg thank you so much for pointing out the yearly testing...It's a must even when in a committed or married relationship

as far as humping something...I would say just get a bullet. I've been told it works wonders, lol
    18. Jeunelle
DaVincisBlogLog...Well isn't that the best advice ever.
I could see how a bullet could end the desire.

YES it's definately important to get yearly testing even if you're married, after all your spouse can bring something deadly home to you.
    19. newward

when we do it in the water, we use life belts. isn't that safe?
  27. farangrakthai
Didn't they say somewhere that safe sex is no sex.
I think I read it on some American website...
So, no, we do not have safe sex.
    1. DaVincisBlogLog
I think it's the safest sex is no sex, lol
