I started my humor blog about two months ago, as a means of (a) saying all the nasty twisted crap that's bouncing around in my head, and (b) promoting my book of humorous essays, which comes out in June of next year.

I'm active on BC and Twitter, I maintain a Facebook fan page and I've submitted my site to a number of social networking sites. I've used keywords on my home page (separate from blog) to make it more attractive to search engines. I comment frequently on others' blogs.

What other things should I be doing to attract more people to my blog? It could be key to my ability to sell a second book. Anything important I've overlooked?

My wife suggested a story about how hyenas give birth from their clitoris...hmmm...

It takes time. When you have a year of well-tagged posts up and running you will get visitors from search engines. But you need to make getting those 200 well tagged posts up your first priority.

Good thread. I'm in the same boat, although my visitors have increased by 100% (ha ha from 1 to 2!). Actually it's a little better than that.

I think you have to die first. I mean, Shakespear has been read much more after he died. Maybe Brian, you could FAKE your death. Hmmm. Yeah, I like it.

OK Brian. I've got another thread for faking death ideas. Hope that helps. It was the least I could do...Really. No, seriously. No, you don't need to send me a thank you bouquet. Really,...
