Hey y'all I just found a way to automatically tweet whenever you post to your blog. It'll save busy bloggers a bit of time. I tested it in situ and it works like a champ! Read about it here:

Please comment on it and let me know what you think. And bookmark my dorky blog and stumble it, digg it, visit often and all the rest of that....

You mean twitterfeed.com/?

Anyone who uses Twitter as a supplemental RSS feed is just asking not to have subscribers. On the other hand, I suppose your stuff will get picked up by people who search Twitter. Perhaps having two accounts is necessary. Of course, all the extra crap will reduce whatever value there might be in searching Twitter for anything.
-
Well, as with all technology, there are those who are younger, who will use it versus previous technology. So maybe you and i use RSS, but someone younger and newer might not be an RSS user, but instead use Twitter for such use.
It varies, but i would not go so far as you stated, that using Twitter for RSS supplementation, is not going to be productive. I completely disagree.
What works for you (and me), may or may not work for someone else.

I for one cannot stand twitterfeed users. If i wanted to know when you update your blog i would subscribe to your rss feed.

Does that mean you are constantly logged into your bloglines or google reader? I'm subscribe to over 2000 RSS feeds in my Bloglines, but I don't keep it up all the time.
And - What about the posts that have breaking news? Some like to be the first to comment to get a vast amount of readers to read their comments as well ... etc - or other stories of interest? What if people are blogging about BlogCatalog? -
@goodknife .. yes - I am constantly logged into Twitter (twhirl) - 99% of the time, however, I am filtering PetLvr so I only see comments that people talk about me or to me. But, at anytime if interested, I can just do another filter and see all the posts related, or remove filters (usually during printing jobs) and just lurk or browse twitterfeed and other postings of tinyURLs

@Markstone .. I've been collecting RSS feeds since 2005 and never remove them. Most are organized by topic that I might blog. You can take a look if you like (but keep in mind it also includes google searches and the like)

(I haven't sorted in ages, I never delete, and still constantly adding to it)

I'm with the Tiger. I have unsubscribed from every blog where the blogger has chosen to make me aware of their continual "twittering". I'm interested ONLY in the posts. I am not interested in their beer and tacos, don't forget to pick up the milk chit chat but, it would seem that some twitterheads are continually signed in and addicted to constant chit chatting. Instead of subscribing to their feeds I now I have a blog visit list for the ones I'm most interested in. Due to the overkill I just dumped some altogether.

@ PetLvr, @m38967 How about some numbers? Your strategy presumably produces some measurable results in your blog stats.
And how else do you use Twitter? In both cases I had to quit following you due to overkill. Too much stuff for me, too much of it post announcements. But maybe I'm just weird. Of course, growing numbers of followers on Twitter by themselves mean nothing. How are you interacting with them? If a bunch are clicking, then you're getting something out of it.-
We all unsubscribe for different reasons. If you like the blogger, you wont mind the blog posts tweets, i don't.
I do get a few clicks on my blog posts. It is just an extra, it is not the only purpose of being on Twitter. I pretty much use it like i use BC. (networking, chatting, q&a, learning, etc)
There are those who sign up for Twitter, and dont contribute or network, only submit their auto tweeted blog posts, these are the ones that probably don't fare well with most Twitter users. But the same could be said of BC, if i only came here and dropped a blog post link, i would get lynched.
Contributing and participating applies everywhere, to all social media sites.

I use twitter feed. It is more just for ease of use. Because my titles are usually off the wall it will draw 25 or so people a day. Instead of blasting links to my blog all day or something like that it updates once in the morning and once at night.
Personally I consider it a personal tool, I have 1300 people following me on twitter and not all of them are blog readers. I am trying to convert them into ones though. -
so it's not OK to drop a blog post link? Well what's the alternative, copying the whole blog post? This twitter stuff is kinda novel to me so please don't be too hard on me. FWIW I sure as hell don't want to know about people's beer and tacos in twitter or anywhere else. I would much rather hear about it when they make a blog post that they put some thought into. @timethief Not sure what ur on about... so like if the blogger put their latest tweets in the sidebar you would unsubscribe just cuz of that? Usually it's pretty easy to get to the posts and not read that if you don't care about it. That's of course different than auto blogging it every time you tweet!

Well I got what I needed out of this, which was responses and other people's reactions, objections, and advice, plus links to a bunch of stuff. Actually I didn't blog about Twitterfeed. Twitterfeed is even more automatic, apparently it tweets every single post. At least the thing I blogged about (no pals it was not twitterfeed so I guess you didn't read the post?) you had to decide whether you wanted to trigger a tweet or not on a post by post basis. Thanks y'all you just tied this up for me. Lynch me if you want, but you'll have to catch me first.
