Back and got sick in Cali - Swine flu - Scary stuff

Well check it out...

Went to Disney - had a great time and totally had fun in California...

2 days before we start to head home we get really sick, so we fly home - and go visit our doctor.

They make us wear masks and take samples (they pour saline solution in one nostril - and suck it out of your other nostril into a receptacle jar.)

They treat us like we are infected with massive disease and escort us to our car - wearing masks --- telling us to drive straight home and to stay in the house until next week.

Call us back with the diagnosis of 70% not swine flu - and sending the sample to CDC.

I'm so sick I don't care what they do with the damn sample - and I'm probably not going to leave the house any time soon anyway - so it doesn't matter.

But it did make me realize how serious this swine flu stuff actually is.

So - if you think you're sick - ignore the degradation - if you've been in the areas that have confirmed cases - go visit your doctor and get tested.

Anyhow - just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone. Missed you all - kinda funny to say that - but it's true.

Take care - and catch you all in a couple of days when I'm functioning again.

All in all - even though we got sick, it was truly worth the vacation.

I'm sorry you're ill, although I'm glad it's not H1N1 (or whatever the politically correct term for "swine flu" is now.) Feel better soon.

My partners office has just implemented a policy of no one enters the building without using the handwipes provided. You can get offended or be grateful people are taking the proper precautions.

Last week I was on a cruise thru the Mexican Riveria. Came back last Saturday and we are all fine. No H1N1 Flu.

But yesterday my throat started to hurt. No other symptoms (fever, chills, cough, sinus, aches, nothing). My throat hurt too much to ignore so today I went to the doctor. I knew the chance was very slight that I had the flu but I thought it best to be sure.

I'm glad I went. Say hello to strep throat and 10 days of penicillin.

Maybe I had too much fun on vacation!

Feel better soon Wager Witch. Whatever you have it sounds awful!! And I hope others take your advice to go to the doctor if you are sick and wash your hands often if you are not!

Glad you enjoyed the cruise (or I hope you did - you didn't say).

Today is much better than it was the last couple of days - thank goodness I can actually focus on what I'm typing and thinking.
