I've got it bad. I don't even feel like working today. I don't feel like I even had a weekend! How do you get over a bad case of the MONDAYS?

    I wait for Tuesday.
    1. trailofpen
Thats the PLAN! But work won't like that.
    2. ThriftShopRomantic
      Yeah, I know... Sorry, Kool-Aid.

I'd say then plan to do something fun that'll shake up the routine after work.

And don't take any guff from anybody about your TPS reports.

I just have to remember to put the new cover sheet on it.

I love Mondays, especially Monday mornings. The week is fresh and full of possibilities and I'm not behind yet...
    1. trailofpen
That's a positive way of looking at it. Too bad I can't see it that way.

Become a bum like me. There are no Mondays in my life.
    1. trailofpen
What day is it today for you?
    2. nothingprofound
My Birthday. And to prove it I'm sitting here in my birthday suit.
    3. trailofpen
      Ohh NOO!!

Monday = 4 days until I get hammered into oblivion again.
    1. trailofpen
That's a good way to look at it.
    2. blackwater
I mean like, I do drink during the week, but the weekends is just when I go all out into space. ;P
    3. trailofpen
Moon walking like a space man. LOL. Damn, that would make a good rap line.

    1. trailofpen
Huh? Was that a freudian slip?
    2. blackwater
Oh I thought I had heard moaning coming from the other side of the wall while I was at the urinal.

I hate Mondays as well. I got to the lab to find out 2 ruined gels (protein got out), another ruined gel that I was going to run today, empty carboy of buffer and no media to culture bacteria. Then I put the empty carboy to fill with water to prepare more buffer and I left the spigot of the carboy in the ON position (duh!) and half the water got out!
    1. trailofpen
Can I ask you Deray, what exactly is the purpose of your lab work?
    2. Deray28
Right now kool-aid it is to purify a protein in an active form. I already proved that my purified protein is not active but I can still use the inactive one to make antibodies against it.

Will this lab research lead to some practical implementation? Is your university performing contract work? Or, is this a prestigious form of the TPS report?

I'm interested in knowing what goes on in University lab research.

Will this lab research lead to some practical implementation?
In theory yes, my protein could have some potential as a vaccine candidate to prevent gonorrhea.

Is your university performing contract work? Contract as in getting money from private parties? depends on the lab you ask, my lab is funded totally by federal funds, grants from NIH.

Or, is this a prestigious form of the TPS report? I don't know what a TPS report is.

I'm interested in knowing what goes on in University lab research. Again, it depends on the lab.
    5. trailofpen
TPS report = Toilet Paper Sheet Report aka mindless and meaningless office reports.
    6. Deray28
jajajajaja well, a lot of people do not see the value of basic science. They think it's not important to know how bacteria live and prosper, that we should focus only in getting new antibiotics or vaccines. However, if we don't understand first how bugs live and how they harm us then we will never get to kill them ;). What I'm trying to say is that some people do think of basic science labs as TPS material, I don't.

All my days sort of run together. The farm work doesnt have any breaks in it. But I do have a few days of the week I dont want to do anything. I just go to the pig pen and they push me into action.
    1. DollinNYC
      I like that.
    2. amybyrd21
everyone needs a 750 lb pig to push them into action.
    3. trailofpen
      I'll trade you spots.
    4. amybyrd21
what do you do for a living?I am so bored today it is not funny. I have done all the work this weekend and my house is actually clean for a change.
    5. trailofpen
I do outreach work for a no cost weatherization service offered by the Southern California Gas Company. I also do web design and sell on Ebay on the side.
    6. amybyrd21
I will stick with my pigs thank you. But I just found another way to perk up your monday. Let my daughter fix you roasted potatoes with hot peppers and bacon. I just bit into a harmless looking jalapeno and now I cant feel my lips.
    7. trailofpen
Is that a job? I'll take it!

Isn't it a holiday for Americans today? Columbus Day, if I remember ... no one should be workin

We're celebrating Thanksgiving today so it's all about stuffing our faces and lying around on the floor later moaning about how stuffed we are (pardon the pun).

Sounds like a good Monday to me

and a very Happy B Day to you NP!!
    1. trailofpen
It's a holiday today? No way... damn... wait, I thought we don't celebrate it because Columbus was a brute and a swine.
    2. amybyrd21
Its Columbus day. The mail doesnt run and the government offices are closed and I guess the banks are too.
  12. bettieblogger
Well I don't really know, I'm in Canada .. tis why I'm asking you lol .. But I know several people in the states that are not working today, so I just assumed.
  13. DAVI
A six pack before work and you wont care what day it is. Is Thanksgiving today in Canada to be distinct and unAmerican.
  14. bettieblogger
    Is that a question? lol

And yes, I suppose we are unAmerican cause well ... we're Canadian.
    1. trailofpen
      But you live in America.
