IF you do not know, I am hiking across America. The main goal for this hike is to possibly meet Barack at the end. It would make a amazing end to a amazing journey. I have been siting around and thinking, "what the hell do you ask the President the USA after a hike like this? I know I would think he would have questions for me. I am doing something that he could never possibly do wile being president. there would not be enough secret service agents to walk with him!
I do not think I deserve to be in the position to speak with him. There are so many people with far more important things to speak with him about then me!
What would you ask the President of the United States of America?

Do you blog?
I would just let him take the lead. I've met a few political officials and when you think you have questions they can escape you. -
I'd like to talk with him about the need for available and affordable treatment for people suffering from addiction. I'd like to know his views on why it is almost impossible to get health insurance to pay for mental health issues--when last year, more people missed work due to depression than from *all* other physical illnesses combined.
I'd like to tell him my story--and how I almost lost my life--and how my life was saved because FINALLY someone took me in off the street, hopeless and homeless and offered me a second chance at life by placing me in a free treatment facility where I lived for 6 months. I'd like to convince him that if my life could be a success story, many others can be as well.
I'd like to tell the President about all the people I've known who have died needlessly because they coudn't afford treatment. I'd tell President Obama that it should be as easy to get into treatment as it is to walk into a bar and order a drink--or to buy a drug on the street.
I'd ask him what he plans to do to solve this problem that really affects so many families. Almost everyone knows at least one person whose life has been ruined by alcholism or addiction. Addicts being locked up clogs up our CJ system and solves nothing--research shows that it is less expensive (and far more effective) to treat a person for addiction than simply locking him/her up--which usually only results in more arrests in the future.
Guess you all can tell where my passions lie. -
I would ask him to start looking at Law Enforcement.
The amount of corruption involved at the INTRA agency levels are amazing.
Ask him if he realizes that police agencies have become the modern mafia. And whether he believes that Law Enforcement has lost sight of the original goal: To Protect and To Serve. -
If I get this opportunity, I would ask him . Is he really going to close down all the outsourcing and BPO business here in India.
I have couple of friends who says ,that when they make calls sometimes, they have very irate customers, many a times abusive also ,who accuse them for taking away their jobs. -
I'd ask him if he is really a Saint, or is someone putting subliminal halo images in his pictures of mainstream media?

Wow - there are so many things to ask about....
You know what? I'd take the opportunity to express to him my (your) personal views on the topics of the day - without getting all emotional or aggressive - and how a young person views the past and present actions of the US - and perhaps something along the lines of - how can you change that? Or how can you improve that? -
President Obama is very concerned with young people taking an active role in their communities and within the political process. I think you very much deserve to meet with him and I think he would be honored to meet you too.

I have been getting lots of questions about my hike across America on Blogcatalog.
The main one has been "Why the hell are you doing this?"
There are three reasons.
First, I am an aspiring professional photographer and videographer. I am also only 17 so I plan to become the youngest person in modern times to walk across America on my own. I intend to produce a documentary of my journey with which to call attention to my work and hopefully further my career.
Second, I am from a rural and somewhat empoverished part of the State of Oregon where young people are constantly bombarded with media messages leading them to believe there are no jobs out there for us and how little we have in the way of opportunity. I don't think either is true at all and think we have a great opportunity to create our own future just like I am doing. I plan to take the documentary and this message into the schools in rural areas in hope that it will inspire those younger than I am to ignore what they hear and create their own bright future.
Finally, my route takes me through the cities and towns of the heartland of America. I don't plan on spending much time in the large media centers. It is my hope at the end of this journey to meet with President Obama so I can share what I have learned in hopes that it might help him become an even more impactful and successful President. He is so surrounded by political operatives, handlers, pollsters, schedulers and the media that he doesn't get much of a chance to see the same slice of America as I will on this trip.
My journey is funded entirely by donations made to the Southern Oregon Guild which is an all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping aspiring and professional artists and artisans learn how to become commercially more successful. All donations made to support my effort are fully tax deductible to the donor. You can reach them on the net at southernoregonguild.org. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.
I am also taking paypal donations through the S.O.G. There is a donation button on my blog discoverusa.wordpress.com This is also tax deducible through the southern Oregon guild. -

I would ask him when will his Administration take a look at the questionable deaths of female soldiers in Iraq? Check out my blog to see what I'm talking about.

I'll ask him about why we have professional pilots and even military officials who have seen UFOs and we have countries that are releasing classified UFO documents but the U.S. government still denies the topic.
Then I'll ask him the usual stuff, like healthcare and how he plans to fix it and some of the pitfalls that are associated with it. Or as someone on here mentioned, how to keep jobs in the U.S. And what he plans to do with the illegal immigration problem. -
