Are you frequently receiving this message when logging into BC in the last two days?
We're sorry, but our database servers are currently overloaded.
Please enjoy a cold soda and then try refreshing this page. ~ BlogCatalog
Just wondering if it's me as I'm getting it quite often or is something going on with BC lately.

we have had tremendous growth lately, we are upgrading our systems to stay ahead of the demand as best we can.

No, I'm getting it, too...and another annoying little glitch, as well.
I will be using BC when suddenly it stops functioning. Then, within a few seconds, the screen will go white. If I hit the "back" button, sometimes it will return to the page I was on, sometimes not. If it returns to the page, it will only work for a matter of seconds (up to about 60) and then go white again. Closing the window and reopening BC in a new window seems to work for at least a few hours...assuming I don't get the "go have a soda" message, which often happens.
Since BC is absolutely the only site this happens on, I seriously doubt it is a problem with my computer. Any ideas?-
Hmmmm...now that you mention it, this problem didn't start until after that new shoutbox thingie was implemented. However, when I get BC back up, I am not finding a notification of a new message, and when I DO get a notification of a new message, it does not seem to coincide with the screen blanking.
How would a complete java-dunderhead go about confirming/remedying such a problem?

Sometimes ... I get that dreaded white screen in my browser (not entire the entire monitor death screen) and the page is always loading with no message. I just either go to my bookmarks and start the front discussion page again or if I'm lucky, hit refresh and it comes back.
I didn't mention anything earlier until I was sure it was a BC issue, not my computer issue. It's not my computer.-
I don't get the google analytics thing, but otherwise my experience is the same.
Since this happens ONLY on BC, I have to assume something in BC is causing it. The problem is recent, however...if this had been a regular "feature" in my early days of using the site, it would have driven me away. Smart of BC to wait until I was hooked before they introduced this...

My probelms have already been described by sweetviolet and petlvr. It drove me crazy all day yesterday when I found myself staring at white screens that did not resolve. And, every time I had a problem, I sent Daniel my blessing, because balancing servers is a challenge at the best of times, and he was obviously having a dreadful day.
