What is your BC strategy? Do you just keep a few friends or are you like me, go for the gold?

I have 2500 + friends and today I started policing the dead links . . . Anyone not showing up for 5 days + Gone. I dropped fifty so far . . . Maybe three pages of profiles pics. And that brings up, why do people quit?

I'll share one nice bit about my strategy, I don't get attached . . . Then I don't feel deserted, eh?

Anyway in policing my friends, I am going to every friend's blog and that's going to take some time.

But isn't that what friends are for? Dreams are yours to share. Dan

I haven't quit ya...I'm still here, everyone quits me too and I go back and add them again...*wink*...;)

2500 is absurd. So is the five-day rule.

I used to leave blogroll links up a few months. Now I yank em down after a week or so of no posting unless I know they're on a legitimate break.

Who could get attached to 2500 people in here? Can you honestly say you visit 2500 different blogs?

    Friends

I sense disbelief . . . Now, I've been to 2900 blogs, I have 2900 friends. And honestly, so many of them have been to my blogs. And everyday I go to so many more. You see I don't just add friends, but each and everyone I go to their sites. Not everyday, but whenever I can. But every day I go to my top 10 friends. I control that list. I'm not sure any of you come to mine, other than my friend Meemoe . . .

And now I've found a way to visit more of my friends each day . . . I read as many as I can, for blogging isn't about me, it's about you. And I've found that three days is more realistic . . . Those that don't log in to BC or Mybloglog ever day and miss three days in a row, well their gone from my friend list. That is as soon as I get to them. You see as I peruse through my friends I go to their sites, not just remove my dead friends. And I know each one, they have become a friend of sorts. I knew their dream and their dream died . . . Maybe yours has and you just don't know yet?

Stoneman we've had our differences, I've given you a wide birth . . . Kindly do the same for me. Dreams are yours to share. Dan

We've had our differences? Don't recall, unless by differences you mean you once spammed my shoutbox and I placed you on my block list.

By the way, is the above a discussion contribution or a sales pitch?

I don't know how many friends I have. I've never looked.

BRB. *intermission music plays here ...*

Gee, I can't even figure out where that info is. I will say that all the people listed as friends listed themselves - I have never asked for a single one.

You can only count your own. BC limits the number who have friended you that you haven't friended to the one page. If you wanted to know everyone, you'd have to turn on email notification to hear from now on.

The guy here is talking about how many people he has added to his list of friends. I remain skeptical, because of the above mentioned spam and the current sales pitch.

Just can't leave me be . . . I have stayed away from you for four plus months. Spam, three links on a comment . . . Wow. You wrote a piece about censorship. Now enough said. Stonehenge, leave me alone.

    Just go away . . .

One of the many reasons I don't have the friends thing on my profile...
  10. monkeytale
After rereading your thoughts on "friends" I don't see how it's possible to follow 2900 blogs and enforce your silly 5 day rule. And if you're not getting "attached" to them how exactly do you define friends?
  11. libdrone
silly me. and here I thought my friends were the folks who say hello and answer my questions...
    1. suburbqueen
Apparently not this day and age. Friends don't send rude emails because you didn't immediately add them back either

cant we all just get along? lets hug it out, kids

then get a huge beer, yeaaaah boyeee

If you're deleting your "friends" because they don't log in for 5 days, then what kind of a friend does that make you?
  14. dhanosh
All right here it is . . . You may not agree, that's your right. But truthfully I have a strategy. If a blogger doesn't login he's not coming to my blog either. I tell you in 2900 friends, one that I know comes to my site when I go to his. The truth none of you keep coming back and so here's a strategy that works . . . New adds come to your blog at least once. Friends don't . . . Get it, if I add 100 a day, I'm going to get half to come.

Now if I could read each of your blogs I would and soon, I just may be able too. But will that mean you will come to my blog? No . . . Dreams. Dan

i think since it doesn't cost ya anything why delete em,

u wouldnt delete your grandma wouldja?
  16. bloggernoob
hmm. not sure if that's time well spent. to go thru each individual friend and delete them if they don't visit you. could take a long time. BC is a blog networking site. just keep networking new friends instead of deleting old friends.

I've hit the top as far as friends . . . So I will be purging again. If someone hasn't logged into BC in 3 days. Sorry but I have to remove you.

Since I'm still new here I have a general question for anyone interested.
Should you add friends just because, or should you do it because you like their site?
I add because I enjoy their site in some way. Even if I never go again, maybe someone who stumbles on my page will enjoy it.
But now I'm thinking I should get it under control now (before it gets out of hand in the future).
Is it rude if I deleted some now? I just don't want to make 'enemies' since I'm the new person here.
