BC team launched a food site
Posted by TonyB • 8/12/09 • Subscribe to this Discussion [RSS] • Report This Topic
Topics: cooking, halfhourmeals, recipes
It's a place to share and rate recipes along with find great food blogs. Well at least that's the idea. We don't have any food bloggers on there yet though there are a few hundred recipes that have been submitted.
There's also a discussion area focused solely on food. This means most of the BC team will probably be hanging out there all day as that seems to the dominant topic of conversation in our office.
Check it out if you have a chance, sign up and please let us know what you think. The site is www.halfhourmeals.com
Oh, and if you have food related blog, restaurant blog, wine or anything related, feel free to list it.

CookingAH is actually the 1st person I asked to list his awesome recipes.
Please let us know if you experience any others bugs aka (error codes) when signing up or when your submitting your blog, as we are in the testing stage of the site but should be totally bug free soon.
All are welcome to sign up and submit any recipes you feel are worth while to share with the world. ; D -
Must admit I very much enjoy the "visualness" of the site. It's very inviting and appealing to the eye.
I'm sure Cathy will love to submit some of her recipes. I'll 'nudge' her to send some in. -

Angie - would love to be able to get in - but Alaska hasn't been able to hit the DNS registry for it yet.
Sowwwy.
But I'll keep trying.
Sounds like a yummy site so far!

Yeah .. there are some major DNS issues happening with this site - did you move it recently from another server??
Although, it always seems to be down for me - the site is apparently up... according to this:

Do we have to have a cooking blog to submit recipes? Or can we just join and post recipes without registereng a cooking blog?
My cooking blog is a mess. I have some recipes ready to go but the rest are in need of major work. The blog is marked "private" and will stay that way until I have time to sort it, apply some SEO and then make it "public".-
Yes, it is also hard for me. I also have to do some testing.
TonyB was getting on my case just a few days ago as he was saying, “Angie, how come you haven’t submitted any recipes yet. You of all people can cook and you’re a great cook, hurry up and get some submitted”. But I said to him..” "I can't really do that now, B/C I don’t measure anything or know half the time what I am doing. I just start to chop some of this and that and whatever I see that is there, as in a little bit of this and that and somehow it just comes together. I am not a real cook, I am what you call a lucky cook most of the time. And I don’t have names for the meals, just more like, taa daaa….here you go".
I couldn’t even tell you how many people it should feed when I make something.
The only answer I have for number of severing per dish would be “a lot”. lol

Starting the middle of September I'll be posting 100 Recipes in 100 Days.
I've reached out to the community at Half Hour Meals to include them. You can read about it on their discussion board.
Half Hour Meals seems to be a great site. Still a few bugs to work out but a great site none the less.
About time foodies got a place of their own!!!
