   I thought that was the most spectacular opening ceremony I've ever seen.
   
   My favorite part was the "boxes" that were forming different shapes and Chinese characters. I was certain that they were mechanically operated. Shocking to see that they were individually operated by PEOPLE inside!!
   
   Breathtaking....that's absolutely correct.
   
   But the biggest star of the entire ceremony was a 9-year-old boy...

      I heard that boy was one of the Sechuan earthquake survivors. Nice gesture! But I suspect they also chose him to make the basketball player look even more like a giant.

      Yes, that boy is a survivor of the earthquake.
      
      He, along with all of his classmates, was buried in the rubble. He was rescued, and decided that he wanted to go back and help look for other survivors. He was personally involved in the rescue of one, possibly two, other classmates.
      
      When asked why he did it, he said that it was his responsibility to help them because he was the hall monitor. So precious.

   My mom talked me into watching the opening ceremony, and also coerced me into rooting for Michael Phelps. Bribed, I should say. She's making cookies.
   
   As for the opening ceremony, the only part that didn't impress me was when the last torch-bearer was "running" around. The graphics were just a LITTLE sub-par on the projection, and you could see the wires that were holding him up.
   
   I think that London will outdo that in 2012.

    Daredevil acts... spectacular creativity...great architectural capabilities...
    The next host has to work much harder I guess.
