Heya folks-

I'm curious how many of you are getting spammed almost daily by someone who spams one single post on your blog and all of it in Japanese....?

I've been having this go on for quite a few weeks now. And I just learned today that one of my blogging friends has also been getting the same messages.

If it's a robot, it doesn't get filtered out by Blogspot's spam detection.

And the message varies from day to day, but it's always on the same post.

Anyone else?... Anyone?...

Bueler?

I'm not getting a daily spam just yet hehe ^_^.

It makes you wonder, why someone would post a comment in a different language for every single day.

Do you also know what he/she is saying?
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
Yes-- the person I know who's also having this spamming problem used Google translate on it as follows:

"Checker left brain and right brain can use any blind date party! School or intuitive right brain to analyze your brain, left brain can diagnose whether a理詰Me school. Diagnosis may result in unexpected discoveries! Diagnose and everyone盛Ri上Garou"

But it has different messages per day, under different names.

It does seem really counter-productive to continually spam blogs in Japanese with readers who all speak English.
    2. TJlubrano
      That is really annoying!

And you're right. To spam in Japanese where the readers all speak English, isn't very productive at all!!
    3. ThriftShopRomantic
It's not the most thought out spamming plan, anyway.

I'd just wondered if other folks were having it happen to them here since this spammer hits BOTH of my blogs, each on its own particular page.

(Which, of course, just compounds my irritation at it.)
    4. TJlubrano
No way! Also your other blog!

Isn't there a high tech way to locate his/hers IP address or something like that. So that it can be blocked?

Maybe I'm totally wrong with the IP address thing here hehe. We need someone with high tech computer knowledge, maybe a hacker ^_^.
    5. ThriftShopRomantic
There probably is. I myself don't know it, though. I mean, I could go and leave a comment on their site saying to stop spamming me, but I'd have to translate it into Japanese.

And the translator would probably come up with:

"Thank you for good spam. More please."

      Or something to that effect.
    6. TJlubrano
Unfortunately, you can't rely on a translator if you really need it *sigh*

And the last thing we want is to encourage the spammer ^_^

I wish I could help you out though!

It's not a big deal, really, in the great scheme of things.

I'd just figured I'd have heard from a bunch of BCers saying, "Hey, me too!" on this one.

Usually when one of us gets hit with this kind of thing, we all do.

I don't get enough traffic to attract spammers, I guess, jajaja.

    That is very annoying though!

My FB account got spammed today, I woke up with the status: Diana lost 8 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks ask me how. Uploaded from Mobile phone.

I neither have mobile uploads nor have I lost weight in the past 2 weeks, jajajaja.
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
I didn't even know that could happen-- spamming Facebook. Great way to start the day, eh?
    2. Deray28
It's Monday, what can one expect? jajajaja I hate Mondays!
  3. DailyBeerReview
Sounds like a social experiment to me. Someone in Japan is writing about what they are doing to you and how much attention they are getting. Probably an A paper too at the university.
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
Well, it's good to know I'm furthering their education.

They seem to be spending all semester on this experiment, so it really SHOULD be worth their time.
  4. aningeniousname
I haven't had Japanese spam yet but I have had ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic spam and apparently bird, bird, eye, wavy line, ankh is now just 24.99!!!
    1. DailyBeerReview
I get those to my work email, funny stuff. And other alphabets I don't recognize too.
    2. ThriftShopRomantic
How about two wheat sheaves and a stork?
    3. aningeniousname
How dare you! I will have you know that we are not at home to Mr erectile dysfunction, thank you very much!
    4. ThriftShopRomantic
      Fertility clinic spam, eh?
  5. nothingprofound
I got spammed by an aardvark today. Was hoping Anin could interpret.

    //''78654=3 kj666=/.,1255 oo6093hjh;;;'
    1. aningeniousname
From what I can make out that says "//''78654=3 kj666=/.,1255 oo6093hjh;;;'"

Which is so true when you think about it.
    2. nothingprofound
Thanks, Anin. I'm still waiting for Google to insert the Aardvarkian translator.
  6. Pasquella
I get at least 3 of these a day and it's very annoying....
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
That's a lot. I can see where you'd be annoyed.
  7. bettieblogger
Everytime I hear the word SPAM it makes me want to hurl ... We ate that for a year when my dad lost his job back when I was just a wee thing.. Here in Canada though, we call it KLIK.

Just a little info fer yas lol ..

    1. ThriftShopRomantic
KLIK? That's a new one to me-- thanks for sharing! Our knock-off Spam, if they still have it, was called Treet. Can you imagine, knock-off spam?

"What is in a name? A Spam by any other name is just some Treet."

    2. bettieblogger
lol Thrift ... very scary indeed.

hmmm, I had a pic here of all the spam and spam type products but it seems to have crawled off the page.
  8. exit2013
I sure haven't seen that yet. I'll keep look out.
  9. owlbarn
It's both hilarious and annoying. I recently got a comment on one of my posts about Forever21, which was a 'creative spam'. This person wrote something like this "wow, I love the owl bangle. It's so cute. I shop at Forever21" He was creative and clever to link Forever21 to his spam website. How annoying is that?
    1. bettieblogger
Not only is that sneaky, owl, it's insulting too.
    2. ThriftShopRomantic
They are getting wiley, aren't they?

I had something along those lines today with an elaborate tale of someone's grandfather's front doors... with an embedded link to a door sales site.

  10. Funkkeejooce
Not in my blog but sometimes I get them in my emails.
  11. time2getdown
The Spams I receive seem to be all in Russian. The Wordpress plugin Akismet seems to get rid of them though. You just need to change your Wordpress settings to Comment must be approved by admin before posting. Then It will stamp out the problem.
    1. owlbarn
True. Moderation helps to eliminate spam comments.
    2. ThriftShopRomantic
I've considered sending them to moderation first. If I get more than my persistent Japanese spammer, I'll probably have to.
  12. clioandme
That's the beauty of the spam filters that WordPress.com uses. I have no idea if I'm getting such spam. Still, I use moderation too, because some spammers are smarter than the filter.

By the way, do you remember that 80s song, "I think I'm turning Japanese . . ."?
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
I've been resisting singing that song for a while. I'm glad it's invading someone else's mental jukebox, too.
    2. Theresa111
I was trying to ignore the tune in my head.
  13. MadameX
Yep, I'm getting it on two of my blogs, not quite daily but almost--and limited to a couple of posts over and over again.
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
      Ah. Hm.

Which makes me think they're going for folks who've had blogs that have been around a while, and posts specifically which might have a higher page rank.
  14. quack18
i keep on getting spammed with thai emails to my hotmail account.but i also get loads of other spams, those invenstment or lottery ones
  15. NYCGirl
I got a couple in French a few months ago. I turned the experience into a blog post.
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
So did I. It actually ended up being entertaining.

And here's the kicker: I don't have official proof of this. But SINCE I wrote the post...

I am now only being spammed daily on the blog WITHOUT the post joking about it all.

Perhaps it's an oversight. But maybe not. I did translate one of the anti-spam Haikus I wrote them, into Japanese.
  16. Theresa111
Write a blog post in Japanese (get someone to help) and tell them the authorities are watching them and should be knocking on their door in the next few hours.
