I keep reading all these articles that have Kanye's Graduation as the number one hip hop albums of the year. Can we say payola?

Personally I think Eardrum by Talib Kweli was the best album of the year, any genre.

Anybody else got a choice, or maybe even wants to defend Kanyeezie?

Maybe just some sympathy link love because of his mom maybe? I didn't think it was THAT great. I noticed this year I seemed to turn my radio over to the older hip hop station instead of the current songs. I didn't like many of the ones that were released this year. I don't know, maybe they'll grow on me or something. Don't know if that made any sense.

I definitely get what you're saying. This certainly wasn't the best year for top 40 or radio stuff. Common had a good album out though, so did Aesop. You just have to look.

I'm going to go with lynyrdschuyler's option.
I saw Jethro Tull live this year, one of the best live concerts I've ever seen.

Need to check out that Talib Kweli album. Like his old stuff.

Haven't really been listening to Hip Hop in 2007..

Yeah, you really should. Just don't expect it to be better than Blackstar.

Watch me crank it, watch me roll. Superman that ....

okay I'll stop now. That song plays non stop on the radios here in Maui, and I end up switching to a Linkin Park cd or something. =P
