Ok, so good and bad news. Bad news...I have been in Poughkeepie all week on business (that alone would be bad!). On the way home, the airlines somehow managed to strand me in Chicago. I had hoped to be back in Michigan tonight. Instead, I am hanging out in yet another hotel room.

Now for the best news ever, at least for my family. As I was sitting in the White Plains, NY airport, my sister called to tell me that she had received a call that her son, my nephew, was now on the way home from Iraq, and would be landing tomorrow at noon.

Needless to say, the past 15 months has been tough on her, and really on all of us. He is an infantryman in the 10th Mountain, and has constantly been doing combat patrols. To have him home safe and sound is the answer to a thousand prayers.

I know this has nothing to do with blogging, but sometimes, when your really happy, you just gotta shout it to the world!

we pray that all children everywhere in all countries can live peaceful and happy lives, and may all parents feel the joy that your sister feels of her child coming home

Thanks! And I agree 100% with that. I have not heard my sister sound that happy since we were children.

    That is great news.
I think, let them all come home.

If you watch the videos of John Perkins on Youtube (Confessions of an Economic Hit Man), it makes you wonder, why anyone would go there in the first place, or why parents let their kids be used for things like he describes, given what he says is true.

Thanks everyone who commented, I truly do appreciate it. My new top prayer is that everyone over there comes home soon, and all the moms, dads, uncles and aunts can have a day like my family did yesterday.

Until that time, god bless those men and women. Now that my wife and I don't have to send a monthly care package, I think I am going to start working on finding places to send care packages to so that someone gets them.
