Lowdown on the biggest corporate scam ever. How it was put together. How it happened. How it set the standard for future scams. What this could all mean to you if no lessons are learned from it. How Enron molded the template.

Another good post Jack. The whole Enron situation really depresses me so I'm really thankful you left us with a really cute joke at the end. And I needed a good laugh.

That was an excellent post, Jack. And that final paragraph about the cows was GREAT! LOL

Just read your great article Jack and found it witty and humorous. Loved that closing paragraph. Killer! Laughed out loud. Good Job!

The thing that amazes me is this: The small Enrons out there that add up to big Enrons

The little stores and companies that do this don't make news.. but it's the same story, just less people

Sorry, Benny, ran out of Butternut Donuts, but I'm glad you liked my piece.

And, same to the rest of you folks. Appreciate your edpressions of approval. Hope I covered the essentials well.

    Hmmmm forbidden donut.

Thats really scary that they still haven't tracked down all the different scam companies. Now try to imagine if other just-as-big corporations are doing the same thing but have been clever enough to hide it. I'd hate to think what will happen when it all comes down.

In business you have to follow this rule.

Guilty until proven innocent. Question how people made their millions.

Great post Jack! There are other companies out there like Enron. I used to work for one called VoIP, Inc. and although it was not along the same lines as Enron they still screwed investors out of a lot of money. Eventually they had to close their doors but not after all the execs ran away with millions from their options.

WOW Jack! Just when most of us had forgotten about ENRON, out of sight ... out of mind, you revisit and remind us what we should be doing. There is so much deception going on nowadays and with the weather and planet earths' cataclysms and catastrophes, it is an easy place to put a scam into effect. Thanks for remembering to get us to stay frosty and alert.

Since you ran out of donuts, I have plenty of pastry over at my skdd.wordpress.com site. No coffee though.

I was surprised at the number of emails, as well as comments on my blog--as a result of this article--that mentioned family members and close friends who worked for Enron and lost everything. Sad, sad, sad.
  14. jackpayne
Theresa, I insist on coffee with my pastry.

We will absolutely have more enron's. The numbers are there. With thousands of stocks, a few of them will be bad apples guaranteed. It is just how big the bad apples get that is the problem. Coffee with cream and sugar, and a chocolate donut.
  16. jackpayne
Oh, sure, Wehireu, there will be more Enrons--not exactly the same, because the Feds now have that template--but with variations.

About the free coffee and donuts: I lied.

A monumental scam, far bigger than Enron is shaping up right now. A "spillover" activity from it could strike like a bolt out of the blue at any homeowner. The F.B.I. is really worried about it. Anybody aware of the specifics?
