Motorists drive closer to bikers who wear helmets. That's the finding of a "plucky psychologist at the University of Bath" who hooked up sensors to his bike and found that cars and trucks came closer when he was wearing his helmet than when he wasn't.

    Server Error.

I take it with bikers you mean cyclists as all motorbikers should have their helmets on.

and yes, it's about bicycles rather than motorbikes.

In my state, motorcyclists don't have to wear helmets either if they don't wish. (This was a recent change in the law.)

Of course, shortly thereafter the helmetless Steeler quarterback, Ben Rothlisberger was in an accident on his motorcycle and suffered a head injury.

No helmet law in New Hampshire either. The state has an appropriate motto on its license plate: "Live free or die." Motorcyclists might want to substitute "and" for the the "or".
