I am doing a tournament with 32 great male actors. This is match #10. These two guys prove that you don’t have to be good looking to make it in Hollywood. They made it to the top with their acting abilities. This match is as even as they come. Both will be a treat in round 2. Billy Bob plays the “asshole” to perfection. Philip Seymour Hoffman has come on strong over the last couple of years with great performances whether leading or supporting. To vote just go to my site www.cinemacup.com/round-1-match-10-billy-bob-thornton-vs-philip-seymour-hof... and leave a comment on who you feel is the better actor. Feel free to vote on the other match ups. Voting will end when all 16 matches have been announced.

Billy Bob Thornton has the intensity and passion, whereas Phillip Seymour Hoffman becomes his characters.

I say Billy Bob Thornton. I loved Phillip Seymour Hoffman in Boogie Nights he was sooo gay. Billy Bob in Sling Blade might be one of the top 10 best performances of all time

what? hoffman in boogie nights was awesome. not sure if he should have an oscar for capote, but hoffman is usually always solid. billybob who? slingblade is the only thing he did other then marry angelina jolie. do i remember anything else about billybob? nope. he was the president in love actually and he helped save the planet from a comet while ending ben afflecks career

Billy Bob - Slingblade might be my favorite film of all time.

Philip Seymour Hoffman creeps me out for some inexplicable reason. I think it's ever since I saw him in the "Talented Mr. Ripley," I associate him with that slimy character.

Billy Bob's Sling Blade was remarkable all around. Even if he is personally strange, and does fear antique furniture.

I know the film was crappy, but Billy Bob was pretty good in that Alamo movie they made a few years ago. He was the only reason it was watchable to me.

I'm not a PSH fan either. I actually avoid movies he's in because he bothers me for some reason. Steve Martin has the same effect on me.
