I've posted a list of cool, bizarre summer day trips on my site! If you're looking for something to do that's out of the ordinary please check it out! www.gabriellefaust.com/archives/2543

I'm looking to create a second article of weird places to visit this summer so if you have any that I have not listed, I would love to hear about them.

Me and some buddies took a road trip up to the bay area california one time. When we were coming back, we took a wrong turn and ended up going down this creepy 2 way road through miles of back mountians at midnight. It seriously looked like Texas Chainsaw Massacre country. We tailed some guy because we were freaking out, and then the guy must have started freaking out too because he punched the gas and left us in the dust. It was crazy.

I remember the time I went down a really rock old wagon trail with a cliff on one side in a low-to-the-ground Mercury Sable where I was rocking so much off of those rocks that I thought I was gonna flip over a few times. I finally found something that, if sufficiently maneuvered in, can be a trun around, came back, and then found out from a local that there was a water-crossing a few miles down that would've torn my undercarriage.

I have experienced this with my three friends. we didn't bring money so that we will know if we can survive on the road for 2 days. we did

Here is a good one if you're in the Madison, WI area

It's really bizarre and slightly overwhelming collection of "stuff" on a multi-building campus.

I once drove from Arizona to NYC and back, with five dollars in my pocket, picking up hitchhikers all along the way.

      Did you charge them?

      They were my gas money.

You can swipe them in those things on gas pumps?
    4. jeremyjanson
Yes, and then they magically disappear in to the machine.

They recently opened up the Ronald Reagan missile silo in North Dakota as a historic site. I'm considering a road trip, because I'm convinced it would be good for my children to know about such things. I don't really want to drive that far, though.
