One of the reasons that I like B.C is the presence of shout box to communicate and contact a particular blogger. I have learnt a lot from B.C discussions as well.

It's important to understand that Blog Catalog delivers targeted readers to blogs, not just a flood of indiscriminate traffic that creates a high bounce rate.
Targeted readers are far more likely to:
----read more than one post when they visit;
----become faithful readers;
----leave meaningful comments that expand your knowledge base;
----become subscribers;
----recommend your blog to their friends.
Advice: It's important to recognize that your BC Profile Page and the information, blog description, directory listings and tags are every member's responsibility so make cautious and wise choices.
Invest time and energy into creating to an informative BC Profile, an accurate Blog Description, two (2) appropriate Directing listing categories, and six (6) appropriate tags for your blog. Then be active in the community.
My Blog Catalog experience has been beneficial in the following ways:
(1) By using the features and utilities I have located many new and interesting blogs, some of which are related to my own;
(2) I have made many new friends, learned how to network, and I have formed blog centered relationships with other BC members;
(3) I have learned a great deal from other BC members about how to promote my blogs and increase traffic to them;
(4) I have exchanged blogging tips, tools and resources with other BC members;
(5) My blogs have experienced an increase in organic traffic that has translated into more comments and faithful readers;
(6) I have enjoyed opportunities to participate in the Bloggers Unite campaigns;
(7) I have enjoyed opportunities to exchange opinions with other members in the social and political discussion forums and in groups. -
Everything Timethief said.
Seriously Blog Catalog seems to be the biggest one with the most stable base shall we say? I was just on one of the other directories that should be stable but the only friends I have I think are like not stable. I'm trying to be nice here. How do you all like that you have now been called stable! -
I have to say, I was sceptical when I first signed up, but thought I'd give it a go anyway. Since I've signed up, whilst the referals I get from Blogcatalog are not large in quantity, they are definitely my best quality referals, with a much lower bounce rate than any of my other sources.
I've also started spending time on the discussion boards here and I'm really enjoying some of the banter.
So, yeah, I've found Blogcatalog a very useful resource.
