So why did you decide to use the photo that appears on your Blog.... where did it come from and what does it mean, if anything? Perhaps it is important or is it just something that you want to portray? .. ??
Mine.... it's when I was about 4 years old !

Actually, my avatar has more significance now then when I chose it. I chose it because I needed one and was stumped. So I figured Walt Whitman's image would be as good as any. But since then I've come to see how much me and the old boy have in common.

Mine is the spray I used (rarely, actually) when playing some online FPS games. It fits my name, which I also used while playing FPS online games, but its origin is much older and comes from a D&D character from the 80s.

I'm not going to lie. It came from Kool-aid man's secret profile: brands.kraftfoods.com/koolaid/KoolSpace/
Don't ask me how I found this place out. I don't even know myself.
And, I highly suggest choosing "Rip it up" from the Kooltunes player to watch Kool-aid man going straight up gangsta initiation beating style. -
I use Doink the Wrestling Clown from the 90's just because it looks absurd and is symbolic of the somewhat insane, over-the-top nature of my blog.

Mine is about 7 years old. My mom wanted a picture of me so I dressed myself and daughter up like hula girls. I like being silly!

My head is spinning! I'm trying to figure out which one are you asking about... blog photo or profile photo?!

My blog photo is one I took last year in my garden. It's one of my favorites.
There is also a picture of me when my oldest child was little. He had such fuzzy hair. I enjoy remembering that time, so I use the photo.
My avatar here is my younger son's monkey puppet. It brings a smile to my face when I see it, and who doesn't want to smile? So, I use it. -

All the photos in my blog were taken by me unless it's written and given credit to the author of the pictures.
I have a few avartar pictures. I have chosen the ones that I like most and they are representing my mood, characters..... -
I'm a strong supporter of both the confederate flag and what it stands for, and believe it should be reinstated over the state capitol in Georgia.
What the confederate flag stands for to 90% of the people who fly it is tradition and history. For me it also stands for standing up for the weak at the expense of the mighty and speaking truth even when no one wants to hear it.
Some people will claim that, because to some people it is the symbol of something else, it should not be flown, but I would quickly point out that when you take a symbol that symbolizes something as real and important as the history and culture of the American South and criminalize it, you empower the criminals, and you do so because the flag can no longer have better meaning attached to it in civilized company. It might eventually disappear, but only after creating more terror, more violence, and more crime then it would've if kept in civilized company for decades before it dissipated. By allowing it to be used more properly, you avoid making the enemy noble by your own stupidity or unkempt temper. -

My avatar is me "feeding" a moose in Alaska. it's a play on what one of my best friends from college (one in Alaska, the other in NYC) did in NYC at the Museum of Natural History. We started posing in front of the exhibits, taking pictures in night mode - so it looked like you were right next to the animals/in the landscape. We are cheesey adults, what can I say?

My blog header is someting I designed myself to match a logo I created for the life balance workhops I offer.
My avatar photo was taken of me by my nine-year old daughter when she was playing around with my camera one day. (But it ended up being a good shot!)-
Took a look at your blog. Today's entry ( www.blogcatalog.com/blog/the-balance-beam ) took me back a few years: "Warning: This post may not be suitable for those who have never taken care of small children and/or those with a strong sensory gag reflex...."
About the logo: Nice! Good 'theme' header for that blog.

Depends on the blog. The eye I use some places is mine, from a photo I took of myself for that purpose.
I've used 3D graphics for one (Apathetic Lemming of the North) and 2D digital artwork for others. One of my back-burner projects is to develop distinctive graphics for each of my blogs. (Don't hold your breath waiting for them - that could take a while.) -
