It's based on what you contribute here at BC. The more you add to the discussion, the more groups you join, the more friends you add, the more friends that add you, the more you get hits on your page, etc., etc.
-the higher your number goes-
Keep up the great work!-
Here is the technical answer from the link that TGK provide:
Blog Rank - a special formula that analyzes your hits, views, comments, neighborhood members and other "special secret ingredients" to create a numeric score based on a 100 point scale. Your Blog Rank is primarily used to determine the order blogs appear in our Directory and Search Results. The higher your score the better your placement.
The part that I DON'T understand is the "special secret ingredients" - Let me know if you figure out the secret

I've been at about 58 forever. If I spend 25 hours a day, 8 days a week on BC, will I be able to reach 60?

Nice to see you again, Mr. Payne. Mine is dropping like a rock. Don't understand it. Just curious. Getting more visits and comments than I ever had. I've kept close watch on many of the rankings. A lot of them seem to reflect the opposite of the actual activity - Newly submitted blogs starting off at high ranks, Popular blogs with low scores, Not so popular blogs with high scores. Even when doing a stat by stat comparison, I still don't get it- Oh well, it's all in fun for me anyway - Nards
