Ask Me Anything About Your Blog... - do you remember this discussion initiated by DocNicole?
Today I posted the question to this and - made a fool of myself as apparently and unfortunately the discussion is dead.
However looks like it's still needed (as some others made the same 'fatal error'.)
I cannot replace DocNicole - and I will not.
But what I offer is to make a short SWOT* analysis based on the first impression from your blog - and in turn you say your feedback on mine.
Honestly? yes, Honestly. BUT with a dose of humour and fun.
*for your information SWOT analysis is used in strategic planning and marketing to describe Strenghts Weaknesses Opportunities and Threats of e.g. a company or project.
Please note that it will be my own subjective oppinion, even if I will try to be objective.
AND all others are more than welcome to join me.
As DocNicole, I would like to thank you all the kind persons that has added me as friend here and especially those who guide me - a BC newbie - through this wonderful community: timethief, MadMadMargo, Omyword! and others.
my sites are: wwomenglobally.com
and mrsbloginternational.ning.com
Look forward to hear from you ... if you dare!

Yay! I love SWOT analysis. It's so corporate. I appreciate the opportunity for some feedback. By the way, if you don't know what SWOT is--it stands for "Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats." You divide a sheet of paper into quarters with a line, write SWOT in each quadrant, and then write down some of the characteristics that you observe. It's a try analytical tool. SWOT is like Mrs. Dash seasoning--you can use it on anything. Businesses, blogs, self-reflection, etc. Try it, sometime!

ok, your tour -
S:
- great colours - red for the wine and yellow for the wallpaper (remains about the cosy hotel)
- think the idea with the blog is great as it makes it friendly to share with your potential and fast visitors what you are about - I think nt so many hotels does it, unfortunatelly.
- like very much your style of storytelling - it really catches and makes the great impression - not just dry facts served.
W:
- cannot see many - apart from the fact that you do not include any photos in your posts, which would make it a bit more readible. In case you consequently do not want to have any pics, would suggest use some different fonts or make more pauses in the posts themselves.
- at your main site www.coloradowinecountryinn.com/ you have some slight issue with the cut picture at the bottom of the page
O:
- you may try to engage your readers/visitors even more: make some competitions, polls at the site, give a possibility for them to give you the feedback from their stay at your place.
T:
- not sure really as do not know the hotel industry situation in Colorado, but think almost everywhere in that industry you need to monitor your competitors quite well
Honestly? Honestly! Look forward to hear yours about my site as well!
all the best

I am game for this. I am curious to see what's said. Don't worry I take criticism without getting all bent out of shape. With that being said, may I invite you to check out www.thecrazykitchen.com
-
ok, I will take your site first.
S:
- great name, oustanding,
- the idea is also wonderful : a man cooking for his girlfriend smelts every woman's heart!
- glossary included at the site shows that you know your stuff
W:
- photos...oh, man: if they shoul look like this, so I would drop them completely..think you may include photos of the ingredients and give them some twist/crazyness in case the ready dish does not look too crazy/delicious at the picture?
- think it may be an issue - maybe only for me though: the WP theme is one of my favourites, it is crazy as well, BUT it gives the impression of some kind of .. disorder. That your kitchen is crazy because you may not have time/space enough to prepare the food?
O:
- would concentrate on give the viewers of your site a clear answer why your kitchen is indeed CRAZY? are yourself crazy or..? show it whatever it is!
- focusing on you being a cooking MAN
- maybe you could find other cooking men and make a site together - a kind of 'Full Monthy of cooking guys' - it could be really interesting - at least for me!
T:
- cannot find any closer to .. Jamie Oliver really... but believe that once you make the above he is really out of the game...

I'm in. I went to art school, so I can take a harsh critique. I've got 3 blogs so just pick 1 if you don't want to do all 3. It's late and I'm tired so I'll be back in the morning to SWOT all of yours in return. If you don't want a return SWOT let me know.
beading-blog.blogspot.com
hand-woven.blogspot.com
recycling-art.blogspot.com-
hello avogana,
I have visited your 3 blogs and think that:
S:
- in all 3 cases you cover a niche which is good because it is probably seldom (and not so many other bloggers cover them) and at the same time it is bad because it is ...seldom (and you may not receive too many hits - just a guess, I do not know)
- you seem to know your stuff
- nice layout/theme for hand-woven.blogspot.com
W:
- photos - not too good quality (except from the post Fringe As You Weave - great step-by step photo guide)
- beading-blog.blogspot.com's design/layout is a bit too narrow/claustrophobic + the header looks like...earthworms
- you show on beading-blog.blogspot.that your blog is of a rank 0 acc. to technokrati and you have 2 followers. Both things are NOT impressing
O:
- think your recycling-art.blogspot.com is the most interesting one - for a non-weaver and non-beader, think you should concentrate on this ona as the most universal one. In my own blog I had actually 2 posts about the art of recycling, as truly love this subject: www.wwomenglobally.com/?p=209
- think it could be an option for you to write together with some other weavers/beaders - together you are stronger/more visible
- alternatively would suggest to keep only one site - if it would be possible - with the clear distinction between subjects - so you would concentrate the traffic at one place
T:
- a threat are ... blogs about more universal subjects/tags...
all the best, -
Thank you for the SWAT. I am trying to cover by niche; however it is possible some of my blogs may be too small of a niche and it does make it harder to find time to keep up with them all. At least I have a better chance of being the top blog in that niche
I also can get more google ads, more amazon products and other affiliate adds out there if I have more than one blog to place them on. Since I lost my day job I need all the income I can get.
Glad you like the layout for Hand Woven, that's my favorite too. Yep, this prooves I desparately need a new camera. My old good one died and my new one just doesn't do it. I know that gold wall behind the loom doesn't work either. I need to repaint or find another wall long enough to support that loom. Trilooming is a pretty rare craft and I don't personally know anyone else who does it. I do have some online friends that weave like this. I should probably invite them to help me blog here, especially since I don't weave a new piece every day. Great idea!
Good points on the beading blog - I'll look into changing that layout and removing the rank widget for now. Followers are low because I just added that option a couple days ago. It just needs a little bit of time to grow.
Art of recycling is my favorite blog as it has a message I believe is very important. I'm always interested in others who write on this as well. As soon as I'm done with your SWAT I'm going to check out that post you wrote
-
-
I would be interested in this - toddlerglasses.wordpress.com - it's a wordpress blog, so no ads and I'm not trying to make money, but I've been brainstorming with a co-author about other things we can to do get the word out and other ways to reach out to our community. I'd love any feedback you had.
Thanks so much!-
dear annz
so.. here it goes:
S:
- clear concept/ niche
- great design/consistency at the site
- very nice header - it shows what you are about, but also that you love your children as they are and you keep it optimistic, and not depressed by the fact that your children wear glasses/have eyes problems
- great source of inspiration/information to all withh the similar problem
- personally to me - the essence of blogging here : a blog that woul like to change/repair/improve (a bit of ) the world, to make a difference for people - and for yourself
W:
- find it as a weakness that you you use a different name for your url and different for your blog. think for your own sake you should stick to one 'brand' name
- also, to me - the light blue colour of the background/font feels a bit...icy for the eyes. Paradoxally - a bit eyes-unfriendly
- I do not know from the site, where you are placed and what region/country/ you are covering. Or globally maybe?
O:
- think you have actually limitless opportunities. You have created something extraordinary, already a little database with a panel of experts. and you are taking it seriously. Your site could be a perfect addition to absolutely every parent/children website as it covers a niche that is very big and common - not sure about the percentage of children wearing glasses in your country/globally but I assume even if it is 20% so it is huge.
- to make it a bit more spectacular and funny (and commercial as well) - you may try to cooperate wit a site/company that makes glasses specially for children and make some kind of four eyes fashion division at the site.
- it is actually very good that you have not concentrated at the commercial part of the site so far - think you should maybe try to find some angel investors to help you grow the site and scale the technology.
For me - it has a huge business potential which you should absolutely try to use!
- I have never heard about any sites only focused for children with glasses - it is always one of divisions of a general parenting sites, which may for sure develop also kind of expertize at this field. And for sure the meical eye organizations and foundations may have better position in terms of expertize, but you may choose to cooperate with one of them and it could strenghten your position.
Good luck and look forward to seeing you grow!

Wow, thank you, that is fantastic feedback! I'm so happy that you commented what you did about the header, it's very new, and was the first time I'd worked with an artist to create something like that, and that's exactly what I wanted, something fun, that featured kids in glasses, that was respectful of them, but not sad.
The problem with the title and URL has been bothering me for a while - when I started the blog, it was titled "Toddler Glasses" but then I came up with "Little Four Eyes" which I like so much better, especially since we talk about more than just toddlers with glasses. I'm planning on purchasing a custom domain through WP to fix that.
I've tried not to be location-specific. When we did a fundraiser, I specifically chose a charity that provides vision services globally, and not in any specific country. I have readers from around the world. Most of the authors are in the US, though one author is in India. I'd actually prefer to have more authors in other countries.
The percentage of young children with glasses - I really focus on ages 5 and under - is more around 5%, so it's not quite as big as you're thinking, but I know I need to do more marketing and promoting to reach more people. I would love to cooperate with a larger organization - parenting forum or vision organization. I have mixed feelings about commercializing the blog. I'm a librarian and I want people to be able to trust that the information they are getting is not influenced by advertisers. Still, it would be nice to get something back for the time, and to pay for upgrades like a custom domain and custom headers.
Thank you again for the feedback. There's a lot for me to work with here!

I just started my blog about a month ago. I've generated almost 1000 hits which isn't a ton but I think it's alright. I'd like to eventually make some money off of it, if that's possible. I'm prepared to put in more time and effort I just need to know if what I have is a viable experiment.
262291.blogspot.com-
Hello, the time has come to your blog now..
S:
- Nice header
- the colours are my favourites : red, white and black : clean, serious and neutral
W:
(uhh, ..well, I have a long list of weaknesses actually:)
- your blog is the inferno of different fonts, small applications without any reason, and topics - do not connected in any visible way
- not clear what is the name of your blog? to me it is just : Click Here to Continue...
- your older posts bear a sign of having a reason - the recent ones are clueless and written in a way that does not encourage anyone to read them.
O:
- think the first step for you would be to answer a basic questions:
WHY do I write a blog?
WHO would I like to be my readers?
WHAT would I write about?
HOW do I reach the audience I choose to be my readers?
Personally I cannot say anything else about your blog before I will be able to see the answer for those questions.
Wish you all the best and good luck with it!

That is so funny you mentioned SWOT as I just recently twittered this - Starting to read The Love Dare. A forty day challenge! I have to complete a self SWOT in order to reach my goals!
I would love to have your review as I love seeing new sites and giving feedback. All the best with your business.-
hello, ourdailyinfo
and I just keep going..
visited your blog ourdailyinfo.blogspot.com/ and I do not have many comments about it, but this is what I think:
S:
- you would like to blog and share with others what you learn
W:
- the title is a bit dull -
- the posts are a bit too close to each other as well as not regular
- the twitter - tag cloud is unreadible and you seem to have too long line with your plugins on the right side.
O/T:
- I am quite unsure what your opportunities would be as I have an impression that you write for yourself / or your close family/friends.
and I am not sure what is your goal to achieve with your blog?
all the best

hi,
I just started blogging last month. I am learning all kinds of things.
I would love to get some feedback and do the same for you.
Frank Hooks
theflogg.blogspot.com-
Hello fehooks
here goes my analysis of your blog:
S:
- great writing style! interesting, funny, self-ironic,.. and more! the composition is perfect every time:
1. beginning 2.the story folds out 3.the conclusion. You are a true role model!
- you have found a great topic to write about: there are thousands of millions of blogs by moms - but this is one of the few I ever saw writing by a dad
- the reader see that you enjoy the writing
- you keep your focus and you are consequent in writing about what your promise in your header
- your personality/masculinity is shining through.
- the design/composition of your blog is simple and concrete, the colours - grey and red are great combination in your case
- the lenght of your entries is perfect - not too long and not too short. and you make a good/logic use of spaces
W:
- the grey - grey colour of your backgroung is interesting on the top - where you have your plugins - but a bit dull in the bottom.
- the youtube and national Geographic widgets... well, I would drop them and find some better ones with same themes. they do not look very well
- the title: 'The Family Log'- is not quite fortunate in my view. 'The Dad Log' would be closer to what you are writing about. Or you may even stay at 'The Flogg' so your url address stick to your title. 'The Flogg' sounds interesting - the reader would like to find what is hidding behind that name, it's intriguing (just like in case of 'Dooce' - one of the most successful blogs ever)
- equally 'The adventures of being a dad from the viewpoint of a dad in a post modern world' - think you should replace one 'a dad' with 'a man'
and it rocks!
O:
- if I were you, I would include some photos at the site - they look great at your grey background and the blog would gain some colour by that
- I would suggest to keep gaining fans for your blog as - in my view - you have a great product to sell, great reading experience. I am not sure how far you can go and how to do this, but - as same for all of us - keep making yourself visible in all those top 1000 blogging communities, so you can slowly get more faithful followers.
T:
- one threat is possible - that you get bored of writing and drop it, since you are a new, not experienced/rutined blogger. (But please, don't do it!)
that's it from me - I hope you can use it to something
all the best
-
-
mine is www.achyutktelang.blogspot.com
Thanks.-
hello Achyut,
visited your blog and the first impressions I have are:
S:
- you have a good, ineresting language
- good photos/illustrations
- you go deep into the subjects
- the theme/layout fits well to your diversification in posts - it looks like notes about different subjects that come into your mind and you write them all in your copy book
W:
- not any clear line - Mumbai has nothing to do with Jack Sparrow, etc. not sure what the next post will be about (S or W?)
- found it not trusthworty enough that you write that fragments of your blog entries were taken from other blogs/sites. Once you do it, in order to look professional/trustworthy you should give the exact source of your information. it is a principle error you should avoid in any written work.
O/T:
- not sure about the opportunities/threats - suggest taking a look at your visitors and their localisation and at that basis make an assesment how you may get your blog grow and in which direction - maybe also something with journeys to /from India? - just a thought
all the best -
Ok..I will keep my word and so here is your swot,
I select the blog- www.wwomenglobally.com/
S:
- easy on the eyes because of black letters and white background
-Not sure, but looks like you involve other women to answer the questions or give their opinion which is good
- Good addition of pictures to go with the words
- Some very good posts like that of Odile Poulsen etc but generally focussing on women so not too interesting for me.
W:
- Looks too simple and too much of white. Maybe you can change something in the layout, perhaps something like a 3 column layout
- Header isn't too attractive and you can change that
- It is focussed on women - so, limited audience
O & T :
Not really sure what comes under this but you can make it more inclusive, or you can focus on your target segment and make sure you reach all of them and make them loyal visitors to your blog, keep on adding more variety to your content.
All the Best!

survived browser difficúlties and now I am back with the new power of SWOT
S:
- good topic
- site is neat and clean
- funny pictures - you are both professional and consequent
W:
- even if the topic is funny - the header is not. __Dark blue is NOT any funny colour and will probably never be
- personally see lack of clear information 'about us' - do you make those photos yourself or borrow from other sources?
O:
- you have probably a lot of opportunities as thre is a demand for this kind of subject - probably. I can see that your site is new and you are posting a lot, so it's all about make yourself visible where you may get the best audience.
- not sure if you are on Facebook, Twitter - I think there would be many who will fall in love with your photos (as I did)
T:
- I guess there are many others who make the same kind of things - you may make some kind of market research and see how the others are doing - inn case you do not know it by now.
good luck and all the best - I also look forward to hear your oppinion about my blog, thanks
-
-
-
Hello nosesplash - your turn
S:
- neat site, clean
W:
- there is an error in the design - it's not proportional. I think it lies in the distance between the margin and the text - it's too little. The titles of your sites: home, about us, etc are not visible enough.
- personally I do not to much like the title - especially with the colour of your logo it looks like you would like me to have nosebleeds .. and I am not too much keen of it obviously...
O:
- they are a bit similar to the site above - 'PhotoshopLOL' as the subject is similar I believe - and you may have a more difficult case as you are serving the stories - but then you maY concentrate on the good choice of keywords to include in your text - and the visitors will comé for sure.
Who are your visitors, do you know that? do you target a specific audience? did you think about it before? - just some (strategic) thoughts/points
T:
- Personally I think you must be pretty good in differentiating yourself from other bloggers of same subject, as the competition is - as I assume - big
good luck and all the best
p.s. please do not forget to write your feedback on my blog - would appreciate it very much!
-
-
-
hello merlynnz
visited your 3 blogs. Frankly, cannot find any message you are trying to communicate to me through them all - and each of them.
Your diary blog has nice design with flowers, etc, but you destroy the peaceful atmosphere with the jumping smileys placed everywhere.
I have an impression that you are writig a diary for yourself, so I cannot see any reason to visit your blog again
-
-
-
hi dosox, as far as your blog:
S:
- good poetry
- good design - fits very well with the subject of your blog
- you have very relaxed style: of writing and of being: you do not want to change the world, not in the race of moneymaking... it's a time-out zone, also for the reader
W:
- you do not have too many posts, there is not too much reading yet
- your twitter app widget is funny, but .. it is a bit cruel for the birdy, don't you think?
O:
- once you continue with your poetry, gain some recognition, followers, fans, it may eventually end with a book publication
T:
- as for now your blog is to new to be competitive - and I am personally not sure if you would like to be competitive at all, so do not think T applies here
all the best (and look forward to hearing your points about mine)
-
-
hello anna, here go my points on your blog
S:
- nice design, neat
- interesting writing style
- your topic preferences are clear -it's a kind of continuation in your Swedish saga
W:
- the font of the text could be bigger
- the header is too static taking into consideration the title (storm..)
O:
- - great plus that you are writing very often - 66 entries in 2009!! in this way you increase the chances of your blog to be seo visible
- not sure what are your goals with blogging, so hard to say anything about O or T. You may search some advertizing opportunities with Swedish brands, maybe
T:
- think your blog is pretty unique as there are probably not too many of blogging Swedish in London? that is why not too many threats I guess
That's it from me - look forward to hearing your points about mine as well!
-
-
In my profile, there are five photo blogs for you to evaluate. I have heard the worst regarding my photo blogs already
-
-
Hello bloggingmix
S:
- you have a really successful, established site (checked even in the alexa rank - great placement)
- subject cannot really be better in these days
W:
- one point is about use of smileys: personally I think that on the site that aspires to be professional, smileys are no-no
- another point may be that the cover page is a bit too 'loud' - too many fonts, informations, ads, etc..
O:
- all possible within the seo topic
T:
- many, many others SEO bloggers
all the best and look forward to hearing your swot on my blog!
-
-
-
Hi skwguitar
as far as your blog:
S:
- clear, neat design
- good topic: you are both personal/critical and at the same time your blog is very informative
- you are consequent in the topic
- you write very often and get many comments ( my off hand guess is: loyal readers)
W:
- some of your videos do not appear (or is it my computer only?)
- Sarah Palin 2x at the cover page - 1 time too much
- your header. You include a fantastic quality pics in your posts - once you do that, your photos in the header HAVE TO be at the same high level. They do not.
O:
- please continue, you may also consider joining other bloggers writing from the same edge/perspective, it could be interesting
T:
- think once you are generally critical, you have to pay attention not to offend anyone - political stuff is a hot topic.
all the best and good luck with this - and look forward to hearing your points on mine
-
-
-
so, as far as yours...as I can see you need urgently some constructive points:
S:
- you cover a niche - (can be both S and W)
- nice photos /illustrations (love the reading girl sculpture)
- your will to blog and your frequent posts
W:
- colour blue is cool - it is a business colour, does not match the books at all
- header is ...dreadful, because of the print that looks like ... a piece of rye bread but also because you call your blog
Book Calendar A Blog
About Books
for me it looks strange - especially while I know that the books and writing are your passions!
suggest other options as e.g
Book Calendar
A Blog About Books
which is more clear/logic.
-the name of your blog is very wide - does not explain your line. Found this one: www.thebookcalendar.com/ - where the concept is very clear and concrete: 'Introducing you to a different book everyday!' and even if you call it a blog about books, you do not really write about books only. -But about your life, Stimulus bill, Scooby Doo, etc - so here you are not consequent.
O:
- think you should focus on finding your line/niche (AND you should be smart enough to find that one which is ROCKING a bit - keeping in mind that your stats are low). Stay focused! you can also choose a theme for a week: week1: da Vinci mystery, week 2: litographs with children, week 3:...
- ask yourself the basic questions: WHO are the readers of my blog? WHO do I write it for? and I am sure you will find all the right answers yourself´.
good luck!
-
-
Here are a few things which immediately strike me. I look at the first site and find the about me and contact information in an odd place. Usually the about me information is in the right hand side of the blog at the top of the blog. Blogs are personal they are about communication. Maybe add in a twitter feed or a newsletter.
The about me portion usually should include a logo or picture next to it. That is a really odd looking RSS feed button. Most are square.
Stop thinking about the site as a syndicated news story. This is about communication between you and your reader. The articles read like you are providing pure objective journalism. Blogs for the most part come from a single source the writer or writers, this is not CNN or Reuters. They want your personality in there.
Blogs build contacts. If you want to a see a very personalized and successful business style blog. You might to look at www.chrisbrogan.com . He has a very big picture of himself at the top.-
thanks for your points. I do not quite agree that the blog should be personal - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog, one of the most successful blogs I know: celebritybabyblog.com is the example of it. also cannot get your point about the photo in 'about' as the huge majority of blogs I know (including your own!)is without a photo of its owner.
Anyway, good point about being personal which I will take in mind
-
-
Nice analysis..
I would like a SWO analysis of mine too. I dont think T is required because what could threaten a personal blog
dsriharsha.blogspot.com-
ok, dsriarsha
S:
- poetry is your niche obviously
- the design is ok, not too good, not great, average, clean
W:
- I do not know who you are and what is the subject of your poetry ( I assume I should know it already from the description of your person. I did not read your poetry as it is personal matter and I am not a poetry critic)
- once you insert your photos, it would be great to see the source of them
O:
- do not know, really, maybe you should work on publishing your poetry book?
all the best and hope you will swot my blog very soon
-
-
ok tell me
cool-tool.blogspot.com-
Hello, here is my SWOT:
S:
- love your theme, it's so neat and clean
W:
- long list: first and foremost: it is not clean to me what you are blogging about
- it's for me not really a blog, but the compilation of different, not connected with each other tools/widgets/apps, etc
- randomly chosen your posts: saw Nadya Suleyman under 'music'... well,...???!!!
O/T: frankly, once I will get to know what are you blogging about, I may be able to answer on those
All the best,

Hi MrsBlog,
It has been a while since i logged onto BlogCatalog, i've been away for an 8 month soul searching break challenging myself and getting out of my comfort zone.
My recent blog post is partially inspired by my time away and i would like your honest feedback either on my blog or on this discussion. Comments on my blog with commercial interests or referrals to commercial websites will not be tolerated.
Thank you for your reading my blog, and i hope that my post would inspire or help you in one way or another.
crushedwithacrush.blogspot.com/-
I've read your first blog, it is almost immaculate. Seriously.
I may not be a woman, but one of my personal beliefs is that right now at this time and age, the need for women to make an individualistic stand and be more independent is more dire than ever. The subject of your blog personally appeals to me, and it hits home the subject matter at hand for successful women who have made something for themselves.
Your blog's design is very clean, very professional and easy on the eye. For readers like me, you can never go wrong with a white color scheme. And i could glance through your blog, at a 3 minute glance and read all of the success stories on your first page. I have no problems with the way you write your articles, it suits your blog well and it is seamless.
There is only one slight imperfection that i have noticed. I do not notice any success stories of women whose profession lies in the white collar, government or perhaps the blue collar industries. I think if you focus moderately on such women and publish their stories, your blog will appeal as a contemporary website which a large majority of women will find relevance to.
Personally i think that with your caliber of writing, it would be an enriching experience for anyone who would appreciate your craft to meet you even for at least once in a lifetime. Meanwhile, continue to blog as you should, i have bookmarked your blog and will, from time to time visit it to get inspiration for my own articles. -
dear IntoTheAzurSea
I am quite speechless since yesterday after you posted your comment and truly surprised by your words. I am pretty bad in taking the positive feedback properly and as a rule quite sceptic as far as my person is concerned.
Anyway, thank you very much and agree fully with your demand for white/blue collar stories - I am looking for them as well, they are simply not too easy to spot. A creative person/artist or a media person is constantly interested in exposing herself - it is not always the case with businesswomen.
But it should come, for sure.
And at the same time I decided to keep the site politically and religiously neutral so far - as thoretically women from all countries/cultures and political/religious observations are concerned. I am too unsure to touch those subjects at the moment.
p.s. Love the fact that the subject of my blog appeals to you: a contemporary man - it makes all my efforts worthwile.
As I am not at all a feminist in the way I perceive feminists today - with some dose of discrimination towards men in general. And my blog/community should not be perceived as feminist, but rather gender specific, that's the point.
So great to experience that you can actually see this point and you can get inspired by my blog as well!
all the best (and my swot on your site is coming soon) -
Dear Crushed
now it's your turn..
S:
- your writting style - great style, high litterate level
- you are serious at the same time being self-ironic
- your style and interests are very much unusual in today's times of coolness, SEO, gadgets, widgets, plugins, Mashable and Justin Timberlake as the ultimate idols. You are almost a hero from the times of romanticism
- the idea is seldom - and you are able to smelt women's hearts. you're charming!
- title CRUSHED! is great - very energetic, funny and easy to remember
W:
- the design of the blog is rather dull - dark blue is in your case too dark to be interesting, especially with the dark-yellow font you use sometimes (cannot see a clear reason, why). except from the title, nothing special catches the attention in the first 5 seconds of reading
- funny description of the word crushed - however no source given, which is the principle error in case you are taking seriously/professionally what you are doing
- spotted 2 errors in the description of the blog - think that it's important for the first sentences to be error-free - especially if you are inspired by the great authors
the errors are:
..the women who had been or IS..(is)
something i've written (i've)
- your posts are not too frequent
O:
- I see really many opportunities here, as the subject is so seldom - and so very needed!!!
- you may change your site design to be more fancy since your primary audience should be women - very good would be showing yourself - or your vision of yourself - with a picture - or an avatar. in your case it would help women to cover a part of their curiousity about who you are.
- keep in mind what women like to see: show them that you are a man with style who cares about aestetics
- I think your style of writting is great, however sometimes too poetic/complex, that is why readible only for some women maybe. Think once you can keep your self-irony and the poetry/litteracy of your style at the same time making it a bit more down-to-the-earth, you could gain a lot of ladies' attention and get many e-mails with requests for advise.
T:
- cannot see many threats as you are so unusual. only this that some of the ladies can find you a bit boring and they will place their clics at oprah.com
good luck with your site, in case you need a woman feedback from time to time, feel free to contact me anytime!
all the best -
Dear MrsBlog,
Your frank honest SWOT analysis is something that i was needing for a very very long time. I could not ask for anything more, I am very grateful and appreciative of what you've written.
You may freely contact me on my feedback email address, on my blog to give feedback on my site, while i improve it to perfection. I feel your feedback carries much decisive weight that spares no wastage of improvement. I would very much want to stay in frequent correspondence, if possible.
Also, I have decided that, if you allow it, I would like to include a hyperlink to your blog and your community of bloggers. I would like to at the very least in my capacity, empower you and your community by referring women to your websites in the future.
Until then, I remain,
Yours Sincerely,
Crushed

What the heck... give me your objective analysis. I can take it.
www.GreenRnD.com Green Research and Development-
@MrsBlog
Strengths - Your blog is very clean, good use of images without overdoing it. Your content is excellent, and writing style, is also pretty good. I must admit, that I was drawn in and found myself reading each of the posts and interviews... These are indeed inspirational, as each of these people has to overcome some significant adversities and dig deep to make the transformation to success. Oh and one big point from my perspective, your blog has not been "monetized" to death.
Weaknesses - As has already been pointed out, the header is probably your biggest issue. Just does not seem to capture the "spirit" of your topic and surely does not communicate that this is going to be a journey of inspiration as told through the lives and experiences of women from all over the world. I did notice a couple of instances of gramatical errors but pretty insignificant. Mostly just word choice or typo and got incorrect word with spell check.
Opportunities - I think I agree with CRUSHED on this... There are some very high powered women business owners and government officials who would round out your list quite nicely. You have excellent content, so I would see doing some "monetizing" (done sparingly and appropriately) as an opportunity to help defray the costs of the "professional makeover" you referenced earlier.
Threats - Not really sure that this applies, since I do not read very many blogs, I don't really know of any competition, and so no reall threats to reducing your reader base.
The fact that I am a very new blogger, means I have little experience or comparisons to work from, but there you have it. My non-pro blog SWOT... -
hello MadScientist
you are not that mad I can see, your points sound so reasonable to me.
very much thank you for Swotting me.
Especially the point about the language is very useful to me, as I am NOT an originally English speaking person and do not have (yet!) any correction reader for my posts. So I was wondering why noone can see those apparent errors I must make in the text. For you info: I am searching someone to help me with it. (anyone??....)
so far your blog:
S:
- you have definitely something to say. both the subject and your posts are great reading to anyone interested in the subject of alternative energy. I think it is actually the most important thing for a blog - to have somethng interesting and valuable to write about
W:
- you layout is dull. Nothing, absolutely nothing catches the attention
- the godaddy links at the top are NOT necessary and directly BAD for the first impression of your blog.
O:
- I strongly believe you need to have a LOGO. very strong and informative logo showing what you are about
- adding photos would be an advantage.
- As I am coming from the country of the wind mills I am very much into what you are trying to share. think you may search some guest writters or become a writter yourself at the similar sites - just a thought.
I am not strong at SEO at all, so no suggestions about it from me - suggest asking 'buyersweb' his site is very informative - and he is also very helpful
hope it helps a bit,
wish you good luck and all the best
-
-
Here is my amatuer SWOT analysis of w-womenglobally.
Strengths:
-Informative
-Clean layout
-Easy to read
Weaknesses:
-header seems kinda dull, even with the design. I would think some type of muted color would help it stand out.
-I think you should change the line "The Focus on the Female Achievements Worldwide" to something such as "Focused on Women's Achievements Worldwide"
-categories I personally dont like the layout. Seems like there could be a much better way of including a category list on your page.
Opportunities:
Not really sure what to add here as I am a novice blogger.-
thanks so much for your points, CrazyKitchen.
As far as layout of the site is concerned, I must admit that the site is home-made and very unsophisticated in terms of my own input. In practice it means that I am a slave of WP theme Carrington, where I cannot change the header myself. (even if I already have a logo)
I love that theme as it is so clean and classy but I agree - and I KNOW that the site needs a makover/enhacement by a professional.
I think the featured ladies deserve the best layout ever so I will clearly focus on it in the nearest future. My plans are also to give a space to other bloggers to join me so it would eventually end as a web-newspaper.
The site as you can see it now is the maximum I can give by making it myself.. unfortunately.
By changing the title line you mean that you see the issue with the word ' female'? should I drop this word, is it what you are trying to say?
thanks again for being so constructive
all the best

Ok, here's my attempt at a SWOT (I've only done one of these before in a library management class...)
Strengths:
-Beautiful layout, clean and easy to read on W-womenGlobally
-Love the pictures
-Love the content
-Love the idea
-No ads on the blog, yay!
Weaknesses:
-I'm unclear on why I would want to join the community, I don't like joining a community unless I can lurk a bit and see if it would be worth my time, and I couldn't tell that on either site
-I wish I knew a little more about how you chose the women you are featuring they're so diverse, which is also a strength, but I feel like some thread is missing from your posts.
-I agree with CrazyKitchen that the header is a little subdued. When I think of Women Globally, I think of something much more colorful than what you have. That said, it is not distracting or off-putting in the least.
Opportunities
-Looks like you're taking a lot of opportunities to network and find other women bloggers - is that right?
-You could make the front page of MrsBlogInternational a little cleaner and clearer so that if someone landed on that page, she would be intrigued and would want to investigate further and join in.
Threats
-There are a lot of communities for women online. I'm not entirely sure how you're differentiating yourself.
I really enjoyed reading your posts on W-WomenGlobally. Keep it up! -
I love SWOT anaylyses
my blog: kuday-eng.bloggum.com-
ok, ophase, just saw your blog, so give you the feedback right away.
S:
- you seem to touch many topics, which I assume gives you prety good stats and the diversificaton of the audience (smart with the 1o tens, etc)
- your style is very relaxing, it is a pleasure to read you as it is quite entertaining - the reader feels that you really like you what you are writing about
- great pictures, also your own poetry is really good
W:
- first impression - cover page is close to the disaster. If I shouldn't give you the review of the whole site, and was just a random visitor, after seeing your cover page would rather skip the rest and never reach what is inside. (why are you hiding so great photos - 'sell' the at the front page!)
- dull colours - iceblue with green and black...well... suggest asking timethief for the right combination of colours
- absolutely unreadible header - all categories have sunk in it
O:
- I would say that you may choose one specific line. Or divide the posts in more clear categories.
However I am not a SEO expert so my feedback is more about the visual /aestetical impressions I get from visiting your blog.
- You may concentrate more on Turkey and make some cooperation with the travel agency providing the travels to TR from different destinations since you have - as I see - pretty inernational audience... just a thought
T:
- as your blog is ...about everything and nothing, any other blogger is a potential threat.
all the best and look forward to hear your feedback soon!...
-
-
Thanks, annz, great points for me which I can use a lot.
For the design - see the answer to Crazy Kitchen - think it explains it all.
For the community - yes, also agree. The main purpose with W-Women the community is to move the already existing profile on FB - with 1400 'friends' to the neutral platform - as I consider FB as very unsure for this kind of networks. But obviously, it is not happening from day to day. Secondly, it is a meaning of it to be closed as per defaut - in line with other closed communities, where the access is required. I do not really focus here on the number of members, but try to connect the featured women - and others who would like to connect with them. In the W-WOmen network there are 90% of women featured at the site, so I think it is very interesting set of people.
I personally have mixed feelings about the ning communities - think they have many disadvantages, and also regarded as not too professional. But it is also the best solution I can deliver for now.
Mrs. Blog is open and available to all bloggodess (please feel yourself invited)- and the focus here is on the international bloggers. The majority of communities I joined are dominated by US/Canadian bloggers, that is why trying to differentiate in this way.
I personally do not know any women-bloggers international communities. I know thousands of communities for moms, 1 for aunties, and the rest is mixed. So in case you know any others, please let me know.
Many thanks for your constructivism - will take your points into consideration.
All the best,-
Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Since it's a home-grown site, your W-womenGlobally is using a beautiful theme, and I wouldn't put the a header or even a site makeover as a high priority.
I really like the idea of a more globally-focused women's blog community. I requested to join (thanks for the invitation!), though I'll admit the terms of service was intimidating to read - nothing bad there, it's just really long.
One final question - and this is just my own curiosity - do you worry about diluting your community by having facebook and the ning community and the blog? I just set up the facebook group for my blog, and I looked at starting a ning community, but I worry that my (already pretty small) community will start to get stretched too thin. Though it sounds like you have a much larger group to begin with.

Hello,
I would be very interested in what you think. I would also be very interested in anything you may think that would improve functionality for this site. The site is very new and I plan on sticking with it so anything you would have to say would be thought over very carefully.

Strengths
WWomen Globaly - Nice niche, you got the attention of every woman on the net, and maybe a few men too. Clean and professional, nice photos. Well written.
MrsBlogInternational - Intices you to join by listing the titles of the forum entries.
Weaknesses
WWomen Globaly - Your tag cloud is hard to read. I didn't realize it was an orb that spins until I decided to try to click on a tag in the background just to see if I could for the purpose of this SWAT. It's actually a really cool widget now that I know how it works. But, until I placed my mouse there I was ignoring that jumbled mess.
MrsBlogInternational - you have to login to read anything. I have so many IDs and passwords I have no desire to create more.
Opportunities
WWomen Globaly - You have no ads. You could easily add some to the sidebar and it wouldn't take over your site.
MrsBlogInternational - Showcase more than just the title for one or two of the more interesting entries to give people like me more of a desire to create that login.
Threats
WWomen Globaly - Perhaps men that feel threatened by successful women?
MrsBlogInternational - On top of the login, the entry page looks too busy. It's just a lot of lists of post titles and latest updates. Perhaps some photos or something larger than the one and two line item lists to break it up and give the eye something different to look at. The Who's Here Now widget is a nice start to that. -

Dear All,
thanks for your interest in this discussion. It has been a bit overwhelming to me but I am very glad to be of some help - and - what more - get some help in return.
I am at the moment not able to give more than 2 SWOTs per day, I guess, so I think I will cover all the sites you asked for a feedback so far and make a break until further notice.
So it means in practice that
PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ANY MORE WEBSITES/BLOGS FOR ME TO EVALUATE.
I WILL COVER ALL LINKS THAT ARE LISTED IN THIS THREAD SO FAR; BUT NOT ANY MORE FOR NOW!!
For your information, this discussion have inspired me to- maybe - move the SWOT discussion at the separate website, where I can continue with SWOTting the world - and your blogs.
Further information - if any - will follow at the proper time.
P.S. Still missing some SWOTs about my own website wwomenglobally.com from your side - hope that you all remember the deal, right????!!
All the best to all of you and the missing SWOTS will follow at the earliest convenience.
Yours,
MrsBlog -

Hey there, Mrs Blog! I signed up for Mrs Blog International. Great concept, btw. At first glance, though, it took me a while to figure out what it was. It is very busy in the middle of the front page. This can be confusing for visitors.
I checked out your other blog as well W-Women Globally. I liked the concept and the design is nice and clean. The cleanliness gives it a free and fresh feel. I really didn't care for the floating tag cloud, though. First off, it makes your page load much slower and second, it would hang up, move, then not and ended up looking like alphabet soup, with tags overlapping. [Let's talk about my run-on sentence structure some other time!] I like the idea of the animated tag cloud, but apparently in practice, not so much.
Your design is nice because it is clean, ditch the animated tag cloud. To your writing, I enjoyed your posts very much and like your style as well as the topics you covered in your posts.
Okay, whatcha think about www.flopsyandmopsy.com-
Dear Velvetbade, thanks so much for your points - very, very useful.
I would also like to finally get you my analysis as well.
S:
- great concept,
- great sense of humour, sublim
- you found a kind of a 'niche - as your blog is not only humorous, but also you present some breast products, etc.
- design is neat and clear
- very smart that you link to your amazon store - even if the thinks you sell are not definitely breast-oriented, the connection is very fine
W:
- in some way - and it's my personal oppinion only - the 2 breasts in yout header/name does not like breasts at the first sight. I think the cartoon look may be better. Or simply lighter colours - not sure. And believe that once the breast themselves were bigger, it would be even more obvious what is your blog about
- the colours overall would be lighter - the green background does not have any explanation to me
O:
- I think you have many opportunities as your blog can be put in different categories: female topics, niche products, humorous, etc. You may choose one of them to focus more on, to make it more 'oriented'. You may also go in the direction of e.g. breast cancer awareness - in the humorous way or make it a leader blog in breast-niche products. I know that it works very good for blogs, just like in case of one blog I know, www.allthingscupcake.com/ - they are doing extremely well
T:
- cannot see too many, you're different and that is why you do not have too many potential competitors
wish you all the best and good luck!

very intersting site.
My wife did the same thing with her baby slings.
We used them for our 3 children and she makes one now and again for new mothers.

I dare, Mrs.Blog--I can always use constructive criticism.
blog.melindaville.com
Here is yours:
W-WomenGlobally
Strengths: thoughtful content and beautifully written.
Weaknesses: you need a left hand margin, I think. The text is so closely aligned to the left hand page that it looks a little strange. I almost feel like I am missing some of your text.
Opportunities: you might consider using Entrecard. I have actually found some readers through this networking site and the stats may help your page rank.
Threats: Don’t see any!-
Dear mtyler77
Thanks for your points and good feedback - I am glad that you like my blog. As to the left margin, so I think it is the case when you open a post and do not maximize the screen but keep it as medium size. It's in this way it opens for me anyway.
As to your blog:
S:
- great, passionate story to tell+ great and passionate style of writing
- sense of humour (despite the topic of your blog) visible already in the header
- love your theme
- huge amount of comments - never saw so many before in the case of a private blog - looks like your blog is doing very well
- you definitely found your niche
W:
- despite great theme, the overall aestetic impression would be better - I think it lies in the font you use/too small spaces between the lines
- also the blue color is kind of .. too official ('blue is the colour of banking'), it's too intensive, chilly
O:
- the best thing is that your blog will end as a book (or part of it at least) - so in that case the competition are potentially other 'survivers' writing about their experiences (T) .
I think you and your blog are doing pretty well - I look forward to reading your book in the summertime!
all the best,
-
-
S:
Cool and user friendly design. Nice categorization, excellent banner.
AJAX Framework works fine for your blog. It made me think that you are following the latest web technologies. (I know it's a wordpress theme but one of the coolest)
Writing for only Women in a wide range area and multiple categories (Beauty, Art, Business.etc.) is a pretty cool idea.
I can see that you'r French writing "Litterature" instead of "Literature".
W:
There's no spesific border style for some images. It seems like you added these images in a hurry.
I saw some trash codes in the page source: repeating tags, complicated scripts.
I have a javascript error on the left bottom side of my browser.(!) Poor scripts
Problem for the Newsletter: Your SMTP server didn't send me any confirmation mail? I'm suspicious if i can receive any news from your blog by that way.
Every text box is an open target for SQL injection attacks to your site especialy user logins.
There's only a few contents for some categories.
O:
Blogging for Women is an active trend on the web which is not yet dominated by any web companies.
Contrary to the women population on the web, publications are so rare that I sometimes wonder the sites where the women follows the fashion, beauty tips, jewelery,...etc.
It's great opportunity to write about women since we know that the market hasn't been shared completely yet.
T:
Men probably don't care about the contents.
Since you'r not a free-styler at all, i define you as a social writer.
A social work requires social responsibility so you have to work for your blog sometimes in full time.-
@ophase - no, not at all - your comments are much appreciated. I would lke to go deeper into the W - to fix all those errors you have noticed.
Newsletter changed now to answer - great point. As you saw, I did it for 'contact ' field, but newsletter was missing.
Also, corrected Literature - it is clearly my weakness here as I am not origially English speaking.
Would like to hear more about the java error you get - as I do not get any error once I am opening the site.
Also, for some unknown for me reason, the site is loading very slowly - do you also have this feeling.
Anyway - thanks for the great and constructive points - they could really help me a lot!
all the best -
Mrs B - I noticed that you have a lot of java high up in your code. This can slow down the loading of your blog as well. It's just after . I think Ophase has a better coding knowledge than I do, but when mine was loading slowly, I moved as much java to the bottom as possible and it helped a lot.
I am not getting the errors for the java in either Safari or Firefox. I have noticed lately that I get a lot of java errors in Firefox all over the place, and it seems to be related to the fact that I haven't updated that browser recently.
Mrs B, I would also check with your host, as they can tell you if it has to do with your SQL db on their servers (for load speed). It probably won't answer the issue of load time, but it will at least narrow it down for you.

I really appreciate your efforts, thank you -
-
S: 1. Your audience is huge. 50% of the human race.
2. The website is clean and easy to read.
3. Interview style is unique. I like it and have not seen that in
a blog.
W: 1. Your strength is your weakness. I think you can keep the spirit
of your blog by incorporating some things the male audience would
be interested in without compromising the spirit of your blog.
O: 1. Your menu bar only has three items. I would add a couple. You
could have archives as one. Maybe a links or resources one also.
T: 1. Blogging seems to be dominated by women at this point, so you're
voice is like one out of millions. You need to be different
enough to get noticed but to stay true to your vision. I would
recommend featuring some more famous women from time to time.
This would appeal to a wider audience, but please no Angelina
Jolie:)
FEHOOKS-
great points, thanks. I think what is the main subject of my blog is featuring the women who have a potential of being famous and have some global, universal ideas and businesses. I think I would rather go in the opposite direction - featuring women behind charity and ngo projects as a celebrities - as they deserve it very much and there is not enough focus on them. And celebrities? no thanks - as I am truly fed of them in the everyday media.
But - paradoxally - my goal can end up with featuring Angelina Jolie indeed - as she is actually the great example of a famous person s h a r i n g her wealth with others!
all the best to you and good luck with your blog
And actually - think that going in that
-
-
-
-
-
-
I enjoyed your websites, nice and organized. I appreciate your feedback on my blog as you are right I need more organization. How much time do you dedicate to bloggin in a day? I love the idea of featuring incredible charity projects that have been started or are making a difference by women.
-
I also enjoyed your blog and especially the radio - very funny. I think as lonG as you are writting for yourself, it's fine - it's first where you need to attract others to resd it, it becomes a problem.
At the oment I write ca. one posrt a week - the interview and collecting material is timeconsuming. Now spend too much time on trying to seo optimize the site (and being on BC) - so have even less time to write actually - too bad
-
-
-
One more thing I forgot to tell you....since you're appealing to women globally have your blog translated into different languages.
We need to come up for what "spank" would stand for.
By the way, I'm juvenile not irrational!-
I think that as far as the history is concerned, the term 'spanking' will never be entirely juvenile to a woman en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanking - so that is where the gender differences are coming into picture.
As to the translate button - yes, I actually tried it (I have installed it even in the bottom of one of my posts www.wwomenglobally.com/honeywear-%e2%80%93-even-the-smallest-efforts-can-ma...
but the translation is so poor (tried it with the languages I know, e.g. French and Danish) that I am not entirely convinced that it is a good idea.
In case you know a good translation button , would be happy to use it
-
-
-
Fighting, I thought it was flirting.
I'll check with my web designer and see if she knows of a good translator. -
-
-
Dear Mrs Blog
What fun to write that.
This is my review of www.wwomenglobally.com/
Impressions: the domain name is confusing with the two letters 'w', which is odd because the domain without the two letters w doesn't appear to be taken.
Website looks very professional and it's seems to have a great hook, which is interview and then review successful entrepreneurs and start-ups, who of course, generally would love to be reviewed.
Zero google page-rank, I thought it would have a three or more - but then the contact form was put up in December '08, so I'm guessing the blog is newish.
The writing style is obviously competent and the only negative thing is that it is a little bit anodyne, but then I guess that to some extent that goes with the territory of interviewing people that the blog depends on for its continuation.
It's obvious that a lot of work has been put into the blog and it's a good formula. Is there more than one author? If not, that's a lot of interviews in such a short time. Bottom line: Thumbs Up.
Our blog is at www.quillcardsblog.com and I would very much appreciate a review. -
***POST COMMENT***
DEAR ALL,
Despite my previous note about me taking a 'break' from this thread, some new bloggers requested analysis of their blogs.
Some of them made analysis of mine in the first place, giving me some highly valuable points, that is why I decided to slightly change the rules of this 'game'.
AS some of you have not give me your feedback on my blog yet - according to the - from the very beginning - clearly formulated rules, I will from now on prioritize bloggers who will give me their SWOT in the first place, prior to mine.
In other words, this thread is from now on following the rule:
IF YOU SWOT MY BLOG, I'LL SWOT YOURS!
All the best,
Mrs Blog
BC, 7th March 2009 -
This is my first attempt at a SWOT so take it for what it is worth.
Strenghts:
Uncluttered, neat, crisp
Excellent writing skills
Subject matter is fresh and interesting because the women are
relatively unknown but successful
Weakness:
Header is plain
Opportunity:
You mentioned yourself that you want to highlight women of
potential and feature women behind charties, NGOs, and I find
that is where your opportunity lies. The women featured may
be a next door neighbor who deserve recognition. Women of
ages and backgrounds celebrate other women's successes.
Threat:
I do not see any.
Ok, I'm gearing up for your SWOT of mine, gulp.
musingsfromthehill.blogspot.com-
thanks for your comments, Lynn and many thanks for joining Mrs Blog - you are already a strong profile there and your presence is a great asset for the team!!!
Anyway, I would definitely like to focus on women causes , more concretely the news from all them: whare are they now, what actvities they have, etc. hope to take a contact to some of them and have a first-hand info.
Anyway, as far as your blog:
S:
- amazingly great design, so delicate, and soft, a pleasure to visit
- the pics you make - both good quality and nice shots - they give the atmosphere of your geen and natural lifestyle.
W:
-. your sidebar pluggins: I really do not understand the reason for them, they have very little to do with the subject of your blog. Think you should revise them and change/remove some of them
O:
- you may be a great inspiration to all organic/natural oriented people, think you should concentrate in the direction to make or join a big 'cooperative' of 'natural people' your power lies in being together and inspiring each other - I guess
T:
- I think there must be many blogs about the nature - so in this case it's better to concentrate (as you do ) on Texas only. The niche is always good to cover, so your competition is lower
All the best and see you around -
First off, I like "Mrs. Blog International" very much as well as your other blog, "Women Internationally." I am delighted to have found them.
It is interesting what you said about the content of my blog. I knew I was not focused. I originally started the blog to talk about my glass fusing, etc. But I do not work at it every day or hardly every week so I filled in with what was going on around me. Living in a rural area I am drawn to nature, the wildlife, and learning to be a good steward of the land. I love Texas, but in many parts of this state you have to look for beauty in the landscape -- it doesn't jump out like the beauty does in Colorado or in Montana.
My closest friend more or less said the same as you. I may start a separate blog for the glass, jewelry, and for my other hobbies.
Thank you so much for SWOTing. You've given me much to consider.

Ok I own up! i didnt read your message properly.mwahh!
I looked at both your sites in depth when I realised and wished I had looked earlier.
Look im an artist and musician and an inexperienced blogger so its just my personal view.
wwglobally
Very clean and simple.
The articles were excellent and I found myself reading more than I normally would. The header was too simple.Would be nice to see more colour.Grey again.
Mrsblog
Im an artist so it scared me off as it looked very intelligent and corporate with grey and maroon. However the idea is great.Im sure it will attract the kind of reader you are looking for in the corporate world.
now look at mine
givingupdepression and the piano players daughter-
Hello womanofwisdom,
I visited both your blogs and what I think is:
S:
- goodlooking black - black design, great header in case of 'the piano player's daughter's' blog
W:
- as your blogs are very personal, it's hard to follow and find out what you are writting about once you are a visitor. Your style is very private, poetic and you hide more than you show. So in case you write for yourself - no issue at all. But in case you would others to read it: think you need to be more informative.
- i think that as your blog is new, you should not include 'followers' or 'recent visitors' widgets at the site - wait until you're more popular/recognized - so you can proudly show it. " followers by now is not impressive
O:
- why do you keep 2 blogs, I would suggest that as they are touching your being as a human with past/problems and they have same design- you may connect them /merge and concentrate on one i/o 2 blogs
T:
- think in case you would like to be widely recognized, you may try to be much more focused and write a lot about the topic you are good at. There is a big competition out there ...
I also changed now the wallpaper of MrsBlog - many thanks for your tip which I took very seriously. I am sure you will like it now!!
I actually also changed the layout of wwomenglobally.com so it's more like magazine now - it's far more flexible and I am glad!! wonder what is your oppinion
all the best

Very informative blog. Even though it deals with woman its readability & info applies to man too. I love that interview thingy.
The background & the font color isn't that attractive to my eyes( can't see it clearly
) The design is excellent but a better header will be better & plus the navigation bar (categories) needs redo.
This blog will for sure reach its peak for what it is now.
It is too simple.. a little complexity in designs & others will take you UP.
Threats:
Yea there are lots of sites about woman (i don't know).-
thanks a lot, much appreciated - I am actually also considering the font as too pale - but do not think can change it (it sticks to the WP theme, probably).
Great that you also- as a man - can use it to something. My goal is actually to focus on women but the stories are for sure to anyone - and maybe especially to men as they may seee that there are other types of women than presented in the dominated media!
I believe that 30% of the readers of my blog are men, which is great!
all the best to you

Sorry for the delay, haven't logged on for a few days and only discovered now that you've SWOTted my blog - thank you for taking the time.
I'm a novice at this, but this is what I think of your blog:
Really well laid out, variation without being cluttered. I like that it's themed (unlike mine, where I rant about everything under the sun), it's probably a strength to be focused and stick to one area of interest. That could at the same time be a weakness, as you end up with perhaps a target group and only readers who are interested in that particular subject. Still, I think the advantages of sticking to the subject out-weighs any disadvantages.
You write well, something not all bloggers do, and I didn't have to "make an effort" to read your posts - it was a pleasure.
As I said, I do really like the layout (I can't stand cluttered blogs), but I guess the header could be spiced up a bit? Which is something I'd do with my own if I was better at these things! :o)
All in all, I think you have a great blog. Any negatives are tiny adjustments, like the header.
Anna-
thanks so much, Anna, actually I changed the design theme now, so not sure if you looked at the old or the new one - I think also that it's good to be focused and also think definitely that there is something there ALSO for men. Actually I am very happy to receive a good feedback from men from time to time -
and I think in a way you are focused too - on Sweden to high extend, which is great
all the best,

Hi Mrs Blog,
Your new site layout is much spiffier. The Magazine-Basic theme works really well.
David
Quillcardsblog.com-
oh, thank you - I loved the previous one as it was so classy - this one could be better I think n tterms of font and general impression but it gives much more flexibility and a magazine-look and feeling which I like really much. Will try to make it better and better but in the magazine-direction now.
I was about to swot you as well, but have been disturbed. So your swot is coming now:
S:
- great design,
- pictures are amazing,
- nice atmosphere , soft, friendly
- you know your stuff very well and it's obvious for every reader
W:
- think the font, especially in the sidebars is too little even if K2 theme works very nice for you
- the picture of office building together with the light blue colour at your site makes a bit too 'official', impression. Blue is too bank-related which makes me confused as to who you are. It is the colour of banking or shipping to me (I have been working in the corporate international company for a while so it may be very job-related in my case, but believe it's common understanding)
O:
- think that you may be more clear as to what you stand for - especially by making a visible banner at your blog-site directing to your main site with the e-cards. It took me a while to find it out between the lines.
- also you may include a kind of photogallery at the blog - to show your fantastic photos even more off -
T:
- there are many photo-related blogs, so guess the competition is pretty hard in your case, your texts are however outstanding and at the great litteracy level. So your articles are the key of your differentiation.
I hope you can use my points to anything - and I think you have a lovely site
all the best

Hi thanks for the comments. I can see what you are getting at regarding having one site. I dont know how to do that yet without it all looking like a mess that no one will want to read.I also need to find out what it is I am good at but it could be more than one. I looked at your site and can see how that would look so I will aspire to that. Really like the new site. Well done. How you did it is a mystery to me yet.
-
thanks a lot - I would like you to know that I think really you are good at what you are writing - but in order to invite others to your universe, you need to explain them your situation a bit more. So they can follow your emotions, moods, thoughts.
That is the point I would like to make.
I am glad that you like my new layout - the mystery that lies behind is that wordpress gives much more possibilities to choose from than blogger. that's basically the secret.
Wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you grow!

MrsBlog, I checked Mrs Blog International. I really like the big print on the white background. A lot of surfers don't hang around long enough to read the small print, but I think you have found a way to grab people's attention and get them to read your posts.
I think you could do something with the empty column on the right. Maybe you could put some articles with smaller print or some photos in there to make more interested visitors stay longer. I would guess that at the moment the vast majority of your visitors are staying for less than 30 seconds.
But, the overall, the way you present your latest post is a winner.-
thanks very much for your feedback. My average time on the site is 7 min 6 sec according to googleanalytics, so guess it's fine. My blog is very new and basically still working on it.
In case you would like to have a BlogSWOT in return, please submit it through the site - ás my 'SWOTting has entirely moved there.
thanks!

I welcome your review. When I review yours I will give an honest but encouraging review.

Honestly I am more interested in a review of content not appearance. Just as appreance can cover the real person the appearance of a blog sometimes overwhelms the content. I blog to share the inner me not the outter me.
Thanks-
