So I submit another blog of mine for Blog Catalog submission, and it takes almost a whole week, not the 24-48 hours stated in the dashboard. Then when they do get around to it, I get denied, and sent a generic denial form letter stating:
1) We could not verify ownership of your blog.
A link back, widget or meta-tag is required to verify site ownership. visit: www.blogcatalog.com/buttons for more information.
2) The URL you submitted is not a blog.
3) The URL you submitted is solely for commercial purposes, or is suspected to be spam.
4) Your blog is brand new and/or doesn't have enough content to make it truly valuable.
If this is the case, please resubmit after you have made more postings.
5) Your blog contains pornographic material.
At the time of review your blog was unavailable or there was a typo in your submission URL.
Please make sure the URL submitted is correct and accessible
My rebuttle:
1) There's a button on there, and a meta tag.
2) It is a blog
3)Uhmm. no. it is the blog of all my photo work and it is in process of having all the galleries moved over to it.
4) it is brand new but it's got more content than my niche marketing blog had when you approve it.
5)Pornographic? I would say not. Artistic nudity yes, porn, No. Look at some of your other blogs listed, they have the same thing.
Now I could see than being OK when they send me excess not when they spend 1 second or less on my blog to deny it. Come on Blog Catalog, wheres the quality of your reviews going?
A 1 second review?

Well, obviously the response you got includes alternatives--they wouldn't all apply.
I just looked at your site and my first thought was that it wasn't a blog at all. As I clicked through the top nav, I was surprised to find that what was behind tabs like "gallerys" and "models" were actually posts. You layout and nav are very misleading.-
I don't see how they are misleading. The are titled to what the category of post is. Models for the models I have shot. Galleries for the galleries of photos. That is a category nav bar.
Please don't take this wrong but if you have a self hosted blog instead of a blogspot blog you would know this. Nice blogs by the way.
My Beef with the admins is that they made a judgement or "Review" in less than a second of being on my blog. They clicked Nothing, went no where on the blog at all. They basically clicked on it and left. That's it. So HOW can they make a Quality review with that?
That's what I was bothered by...Blog Catalog is supposed to be a Quality Blog Directory. To me that wasn't a Quality Review.
Thanks for the comment. -
In fact, I have managed and contributed to many self-hosted blogs over the past several years. I make my living in content creation and social media for a ridiculously successful Internet marketing company. In that capacity, I have networked with, commented on and contributed to hundreds of blogs and I have literally never seen one set up the way yours is. In addition to the layout being very unbloglike, the fact that you have one tab for "articles" clearly suggests that the other tabs lead to something other than articles.

yes that is correct. which is why it's set up that way. I am not sure what you are saying because there are so many blogs out there set up just like mine, that yes it is a magazine setup blog. there are many out ther nd I am suprised that since you work for a "ridiculously" successful internet marketing company you haven't seen them.
for example here are a few to name some of more sucessful ones:
www.fresheventure.com/
digital-photography-school.com/
www.problogger.net/
www.copyblogger.com/
www.entrepreneurs-journey.com/
www.blogherald.com/
performancing.com/
If you haven't crossed paths with those, and they are just like mine in the way they are...I am not sure what exactly you are saying then.
where I got my theme was at Studio Prress:
www.studiopress.com/
a very popular theme maker....
many blogs out there run those themes...including mine...
now maybe you are talking about personal blogs rather than photography and business blogs?
