BlogCatalog has begun posting blogger spotlight articles on our blog at blog.blogcatalog.com.
We did the first one on Marlo Boux from The Joyful Christian Wife to coincide with the arrival of the Easter holiday.
Take a look at the article and please let us know if you know a blogger on whom you'd like to see a profile written (and don't everyone say themselves!).

If he's got a post on the one and only BC blog (click the link), he's clearly friendly with the admins. He doesn't have to be one to make such an announcement, especially if it's his own post.

SIGH ... If I did not wish to receive an answer I would not have asked the question. Speculating on what emotions another person may or may not be feeling and offering unsolicited advice based on speculation is not wise.

From the Blog post, his e mail is jason@blogcatalog.com.
To me, that would indicate some sort of employment relationship with Blogcatalog, as it is a Blogcatalog e mail address. -

It's also worth noting that it is also Passover...not just Easter...might be nice to get a Jewish blogger featured too if religious blogs are going to be featured.

A very good point! Maybe since we missed may have the boat on Passover we can do an article for Holocaust Rememberance Day on 4/21.

Jason, thanks for bringing up the blogger of the week selection and post. I wasn't sure if it was going to happen or not.
I liked the post, but I'm wondering if some sort of selection guideline could be included so that the members know how they were chosen? I don't think it needs to be a part of each post, but perhaps in a tagline or something (IE: right along with your "suggest a blog of the week e mail me at...would be a blogs are chosen from a set of criteria blah blah blah etc and so forth). -

To end all of the inquiries, my name is Jason and I am working with BlogCatalog to get some more frequent posts up on the Blog and to act as a community liason who will follow discussions, tweets and various other forms of communication to make sure that the community members are getting all they can out of BlogCatalog.
The Blogger Profiles are just one idea that was floated to me as a good place to start and that is why the recent article was posted. I have looked at all of your comments and appreciate the suggestions! If anyone has ideas for types of articles they'd like to see on the blog, please let me know. Guest blogger are also an option; so, if you have an article you think would be valuable to our reader and members, let us know.

Thanks for answering my question. Working with Admin as a liaison between Admin and the 200,000 community members is going to be an interesting spot to be in, given the proposals for changes afoot and the plans that are already unfolding.

It was so infrequently updated, after the spate of guest posts last year, that I stopped checking. A link or even a feed widget that would let people know about new posts would help a lot! -

Yes, I think everyone realized there was definitely too little attention payed to our blog and for a blogging social network that simply won't do.
That's why we're making a push to get the blog updated regularly with content that will be interesting to the members and also help community members get recognized for their talents and their contributions. -
While you are here, I was thinking about this the other day.
When did you decide to shift from the bestest blogging directory to a blogging social network? I have noticed that there has been more of an emphasis on the social network side lately.
Just wondering -

I like the blogger of the week idea very much, and I'm wondering if a post once in a while about networking tips or blogging tips that isn't too techy might be good? you know, for us tech-idiots. -
I too am a tech idiot! I know we have a great network of "networkers", social media strategists, marketers, tech guys, etc. on BlogCatalog and working with BlogCatalog. So, we will definitley tap this pool of knowledge and try to bring you some great tips that will help you.

Awesome Like maybe an "Idiot's guide to..." once a week would be great. Like getting those tags (digg, stumble, etc) at the bottom of posts to show up in every post. I know there's a way to do it....
