what do you mean by better?

Blogs hosted on wordpress.com cannot display Adsense ads. Self-hosted wordpress blogs can host any sort of ads they want though. To self-host, you need your own domain and somewhere to host it.

You can display ads on a self-hosted wordpress blog without any trouble. I think self-hosted wordpress blogs look better, but as far as which would make you more money with adsense ads...I doubt the type of blog software would make any difference.

You're right that about Wordpress blogs looking better. But Blogger is owned by Google and is detected faster on Google's radar!

While having a Blogger blog may get it on Google a bit quicker, I'd rather wait a few extra days for it to get indexed and do it the right way from the start. I haven't had any issues with self-hosting wordpress, getting it indexed on Google, or putting adsense ads on it and making a bit of money. It's no get rich quick scheme, but there is money coming in.

One of the reasons I went with Blogger is because I figured Google will never run out of money and out of business.

Well, if you are self-hosting, you already have the software installed on your own server so you don't have to worry about anyone except yourself running out of money.

Yeah...I also find Wordpress better looking than Blogger but you can't put any ads in your free Wordpress account. Plus Wordpress has tons of features like their Stats are so comprehensive.
