Which do most of you prefer and why?

I am having issues with blogger and honestly its annoying me and I feel like making the move to wordpress.

Do you guy and girls think its worth it. I always loved the blogger layout, but I guess I'd just like to know why you users choose either.

Any particular reasons why you choose wp over blogger?

I was on Blogger for 8 months and then relaunched self-hosted on Wordpress.

The admin interface is VASTLY superior, the templates are really beautifully designed and SO easy to install. (one button, literally).

IMO, Everything works better on Wordpress.

Cool. How does the follower system work with that? I have followers now, and they're all on blogger. How can they continue to follow me if I go to wordpress?

You can easily export your entire blog (comments and all, but no widgets) to Wordpress. Wordpress widgets are all integral and they have a huge selection of plug-ins for other applications.

I had about 50 followers and 50 feed subscribers on Blogger, so it's not like I had a huge following. Just let them know to update their feeds, update the feed service you use (if you use one) and let your followers know you're moving to wordpress.

Most of my readers found me within a couple of days of launching and even though I don't have a public followers widget, I am sure there is a way of easily adding it.

You might lose your Google pagerank from changing your web url though.

Yeah I saw timethiefs article about it. I think I may make the switch. I believe at this point I am also very concerned in regards to the followers I already have on blogger.

You can add the Google Friend Connect to your Wordpress blog as well without any difficulties. That way your Blogger friends can still sign in with their Google account and follow your blog.

I love Wordpress - at first I was on wordpress/com and recently went to a godaddy hosted wordpress/org domain. I'm having way too much fun customizing my domain and add something new every day. If you're just starting out and don't want to deal with much maintenance and all, I'd stick with wordpress/com

so .org is if you want to do independent hosting? (I'm a bit confused)
    2. Richer44
Yes, Wordpress.com is similar to blooger in that they provide the web hosting.

Wordpress.org is if you want to have your own domain name such as www.scenexg.com or whatever. I have my own domain hosted by Just Host and installed Wordpress.org. This was the best move I have ever made. Basically, if you want to blog to make money some day or have a lot of traffic then get your own domain and use Wordpress.org. If you blog just to keep your friends updated on your trip to some cool place then I would go with Wordpress.com (which I have read several reviews and it seesm better then Blogger).

      Best of luck!

When I left Blogger I forwarded the site to my Wordpress.com site. I just don't remember how I did it but you might be able to fine someone who does know.

I know have a self-hosted blog with Wordpress.org software. I much prefer Wordpress over blogger.

If you are serious about blogging-- self hosted and wordpress, if you want easy blogger is the way to go. Exporting blogger is a breeze. Richer 44 I didn't know I could add google friends connect to my wordpress blog, Thanks!

I think Blogger is relatively easy for new blogger than Wordpress. I am also using Blogger and I am satisfied with Blogger.

I just moved from wordpress.com to blogger. In wordpress.com I couldnt download the templates/themes I liked, just a few are awailable. And you are not allowed to change the CSS/HTML code. Its posible with wordpress.org, but then you have to install it on your computer and pay for hosting your domain. I dont know whats wrong with blogger, why is wordpress so much better?

I have a Wordpress blog and some Blogger blogs. I use Wordpress because it looks more professional but I don't like fooling with it. Blogger is much easier for moving things around and customizing.
    1. MrPoo
Yes, blogger is more user friendly. But what pissed me of with wordpress.com was all the limitations. Hey, I think my blog looks professional, even its a blogger blog
Do you have a blog on wordpress.org?
    2. Shiley
      No, I have .com.

I think there are advantages and disadvantages in wordpress and blogger.

    a. In SEO Wordpress can customize your SEO packages, you can change your robots.txt. In blogger you can't.
    b. If you want to make money from your site, you should choose wordpress. Many publisher was declined sites that they are subdomain in blogspot (blogger).
    c. They are a lot of free premium WP themes that ready to use with a nice look and many type for your blog.
    d. I think blogger more customize than wordpress.
    e. the last things, if you want to make your sites with wordpress (premium), you must spare your budget. and must choose the right hosting (size and provider)

But if you choose blogger or blogspot platform, and then you try to find nice template. I have a lot of template that was taken from wordpress themes. I means it was converted from WP to blogspot.

    Find in www.bloggertemplateplace.com

    best regard
