I'm a research psychologist and a "consulting statistician." (That means I crunch other researchers' numbers and tell them what it means.)
-
I am a professional intutive and Feng Shui consultant, and I just started an Etsy business. There's no difference between my day job and my blog - the all blend into each other. I must be nuts!

What great timing for this question! I just got clearance this week to finally talk about what I do for a living. tiffanytalks.blogspot.com/2008/08/just-in-case-you-were-wondering.html

Kristi, I'm sorry--I didn't see this question the first time around. Yes, I was actually one of the first people hired when this new division was created because (of all silly things to be an expert in) I have an extensive background in the creation and analysis of multiple choice questions. Well, and a law degree and editorial management experience, but it seems that those things are easier to come by than expertise in multiple choice questions.
Thanks, Annie. That's exactly how I feel. It's a great program, it's challenging/interesting work, and I'm making good money working from home (which means my daughter and her friends can hang out at my house during the day). And about once every six weeks I spend a few days in Manhattan, which is just enough to be fun and energizing and connect me to the core group without taking a toll on my family. -
Mostly practice, Anok. My primary expertise is in the LSAT, which I've been working with for eleven years--I've taken and dissected every released LSAT from 1991 forward, researched, tested techniques, classified wrong answer choices, written explanations, and worked with hundreds of students and trained other teachers and writers to do the same. I also have some experience with the ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, portions of the MCAT and DAT, and the MBE.

I do, but nothing much on it yet - just started on Monday.
Check it on later this week though, there might be something on it, if I ever get off this discussion board. www.sebastyne.com

I teach web development, and at the moment Diploma in Systems administration,Diploma in Communications. I specialise in Flash and actionscript. I eased up from playing live in the late 90's when my oldest son died because I felt too vulnerable to perform because music is a very emotional experience for me. When I started to blog about guitars I did a post about an instrumental song I wrote dedicted to my son
acousticguitarist.wordpress.com/2007/09/27/the-bardo-dedicated-to-joshua/
,this was a major step to reentering into playing music, which for me is a passion beyond belief. Sooner or later I will be back playing on a regular basis. About 5 weeks ago I sang again in public and managed to do it without too much difficulty. -

"i don't want to buy anything, sell anything, or process anything as a career. i don't want to buy anything sold or processed, don't want to sell anything bought or processed, don't want to process anything sold or bought."

accountant, bookkeeper, income tax preparer ... just catching up what was pushed in the background before my vacation, and then hopefully the next 3 months can be sane again. I usually start pushing it mid December for the next cycle (new tax laws, networking, december year ends, etc) and hopefully I can concentrate on the blogs and blogging this fall.

In Canada, it would be more of a CGA or CA designation, none of which I have. I did work in public practice between 1985-2003 however before venturing out on my own. Honestly, I prefer a calculator - even the computer on screen calculator than crunching numbers
Although, I always was the teacher's pet in math class during school.

At this point, I prefer not to give the exact name of my university because I am writing my memoir and blogging about that--and it's quite a story!
I am not sure how my department chair is going to react when I tell her about the book.
I LOVE psychology, though and love teaching the subject. I think most of us are interested in understanding why each of us does the things we do.

as a full time blogger and blog manager my daytime job is napper since I do most of my blogging between 2am and 7am and again from 8pm until around midnight.
-
I blogged pretty much full time from 2001 through 2004, but quit to do other writing jobs. I came back to blogging part time in early 2007 and started my network shortly there after. I have been running that full time since last December. It is more blog managing than anything (which includes editing, rewriting, and often times ghost writing for member blogs) , I don't get much done in the way of actual in my pet projects much these days.
The difference between managing blogs and simply writing, is I can pretty much guarantee a full time income, something most full time bloggers can't do on their own.

Wow, everyone is so interesting here...
I am a full time blogger...Recently I've taken life by the reins and just relocated to St Louis...just up and left Detroit. I blog 4-5 hours/day then I go take photos...photography and music are passions of mine. -

I'm a coordinator/event planner for conference groups from local and national areas. It's a job on my campus but brings in huge revenues for our campus, and it has nothing to do with what I want to do 5 years later. My long time goal day job is to work as a guidance counselor and teach at a high school level. I'm only 23, I have a while before I become useless :)Lets see!

Freelance writer, nonprofit consultant and social entrepreneur. I started a nonprofit organization called the Literacy 'n' Poverty Project that works to alleviate poverty and improve adult education worldwide through advocacy, research and service. So I guess all of that isn't a particular day job but it's what I do!

Yes, I too believe not a lot of people work at something they are passionate about, which in many cases, causes them to not advance in their career. While we all need to pay the bills and sometimes a "no brain, I'd rather kill myself than work here" type of job will pay the bills, it's extremely important, let me emphasis, IMPORTANT, to find something you are passionate about and work towards achieving your goals. Perhaps some people just haven't found their passion...I was fortunate to do so early on and have been trying to help others find that passion and make their dreams a reality every since.

i'm a full time university student, work part-time sales associate (selling luggage) and getting into internet marketing (blogging, affiliate marketing). Also, when I have the cash, I'm interested in stock trading (I follow the stuff and try to learn whenever I can) and go into real estate when I can.

I am a Receiving Manager responsible for a 38,000 sq. ft. building and 116 employees. It's hard, fast paced and busy but rewarding job and it pays the bills. If I could find a way to sustain a sizable income on the internet I would retire and just do that.
Blogging would be a great full time job. I can dream... -
