Do you think sex appeal should be used to promote your blog. If you're an attractive individual is it worth it to promote your face/body. www.bloggernoob.com/sexy-bloggers/30/ I think it could be and i think it would help drive up traffic. What's your take on this issue? and who do you think is a sexy blogger?

I don't do it, (not that I couldn't, of course. I've just never cared for that tactic, personally.

It depends on what you blog about really. I don't think putting a picture of myself up in a cutesy/cheesy myspace trying-too-hard to look cute and chic pose would garner me the type of blog hits or traffic that I am looking for.

In fact, I think looking like an older, Chomsky-esque man would get more readers.

Hmm...my Grandma used to say, "If you've got it, flaunt it. If you value it, keep it under wraps." I would rather my blog be popular because I write well than because I'm just a hottie (not saying I think I'm a hottie...oh nevermind).

That said, I have only one picture of myself on the blog, because like suburbqueen says, I am under the assumption that people like to read what I have to say because I'm an awesome writer.

I can't help but notice that no one is responding to the "who do you think is a sexy blogger?" portion of this inquiry...

Generally, I think that it does help, if it's not too overt. An obvious attempt at conveying a sexy image can damage credibility, depending on the nature of the blog, but there is no question that people generally respond better to and pay more attention to people they perceive as attractive--our whole marketing culture is founded on that principle (and with great success).

If I revealed myself on my blog, I'd probably get arrested...lol! I'll stick to the occasional distant photo, it is safer that way...

If people were planning to visit my site with sexy intentions, I am afraid that I am only a handsome, single, sophisticated guy with a great English accent.

I hope they won't be too disappointed.....lol!

Well, I don't think I have a lot of sex appeal anymore, I"m pretty much a housebroken hubby with a kid that isn't quite in the "diesel" shape I like to imagine I used to be.

Does sex appeal help bloggers? Hell yeah it does. I know there are plenty of extremely attractive ladies here on blogcatalog, and I"m not sure what this says about me, but I've always been a sucker for pretty ladies and I've noticed I'm much more apt to reach out to them or check their blog.

As far as who is sexy? I don't want to embarrass or offend anyone, but there are several here on blogcatalog alone that I think are extremely sexy. I'm confident they probably know who they are as I don't have a lot of shame and usually make no bones about saying "dayum you're hot!" or something like that.

Who else care about sexy blogger???If the content provides a good content that will help people it will definitely help you to sell right? But, I always believe sexy photo drive attraction and attention. However does it make them stay? Hmmm...

Sex does sell but that kind of promotion just wouldn't jive with my blog and personality. Not to mention, I'm not exactly a Hollywood starlette look alike so it's not even something for me to contemplate really.

I occassionally contemplate putting a sexy avatar here just for more hits, but I guess, until i decide otherwise, ya'll going to have to go to my blog or stumbleupon or something to see how cute i am. Yes. Sex sells. So do brains. Put them together... golden. Then again, everyone's idea of sexy and smart seems to be different around here.

only as a hook. If your all fur coat and no knickers people aren't going to hang around. I mean they can't stare are yer pic all the time (well yes I suppose they could),but if there is nothing of value to read on the blog or sell, then it is a hollow visit/hit. On the other hand if a blogger is making money from how many hits they get I can see the value of it.

Lots of studies show better looks means advantage. I am not joking there have been studies that have found better looks translates to higher earnings, greater perceptions of intelligence, etc.

However - there is alot of skepticism on the internet. Our world has a growing insensitivity towards 'loaded' communications. Blatant attempts to seduce with sexual beauty can work adversely if perceived as insincere or false.

I guess I don't get it - its largely like asking does a sight-gag work on Radio...

You're either blogging (which is writing) or you're posting pictures - which is actually making a picture gallery. I've seen blogs where people post pictures of themselves - and I've seen blogs where the author has pics of himself/herself - but I've never read a blog because I'm like "wow! she's hot she must really be able to blog!"

... if that were the case - Playboy would have blogs... and men would truly read it for the articles.

As a marketer, it is a great promotion for your blog. Show a little and hide a little and it could be used for any blogs. Just like it has been widely used for almost every products.

**a tip from me, hire a good looking model/ you/ your friend and dress her as like the theme of your blog. Then give her a laptop and take some picture that she is browsing your site and she is enjoying it. Now make the pictures as wallpapers and add the url of your site on them. Spread the photos in the internet. Thats a promotion!
