It's Sunday, here in Singapore! Will you guys be lurking around on Weblogs and forums or be at Church? I'm going to the movies probably.
Alright, let's get to the main dish.
I,ViciousCycle, netizen and sometimes, a Church goer, have discovered the MANY uncanny common grounds between Bloggers and the Church.
Listed them out, be dazzled.
1)I blogged for I thought people would give a shit.
U and I prayed, thinking God would give a shit.
God hates us...?
Being politically correct, let me clarify that God does give a shit sometimes.
Oh some people blog to God. Cute...
2)Churches lecture you with their wise opinions on God. Bloggers lecture you with THEIR wise opinions
and think they are God.
Oh some churches are bloggers too!
3)Both need advertisement.(Don't sue, me, I still got the flyers for evidence)
Exceptions: No advertisement required if it's a personal blog.
No Advertisement if God is personal.
4)Both will get really mad if you challenge their beliefs.
5)Both seek donations.
Churches with their baskets(no pun intended). Bloggers with their Paypal/Adsense
6)Both are eagerly trying to get more visitors and followers.
7)You make friends at Church *coughs* babe pick-up bar *coughs*.
You make online friends when you blog, and some do become real life friends.
Hell, heard of the Internet wedding of Rinaz?
They met on Second Life, fell in love, quarrelled, patched up, met in Real Life, and got married...
8)Some Bloggers and Church goers looooovvvvveeee to take the moral high ground...
9)Some rogue churches insult other religions. Some rougue bloggers flame other bloggers.
10)The Church once had a Political say. We bloggers recently had the Bloggers' Association. Anyway, what the hell was that? Not sure. I am a bacteria.
Wow 10, that's a lot. Blogging is now officially a religious activity.
Feel free to add on to the list.
And here's a present for you

Can't add to the list. One major difference for me between blogging and church--I post regualarly to my blog. I decided at eight years old that I preferred sleeping in on Sundays rather than getting up disgustingly early to dress up and hear lectures for 4 hours; and as soon as I was old enough I stopped going (plus, I hated all the snooty people that attended. They actually gave my pastor a heart attack. Church politics are a nasty thing).
