So here's the deal. I signed up with Blogher Ads, and after being accepted, they send me another long application. After my application and signed agreement was finally processed, I waited patiently for my ad codes. Than this happens:

"When I first reviewed your site, I admit that I must not have spent enough time familiarizing myself with your content. The posts I previewed were edgy, but basically acceptable under our editorial guidelines. After more careful review, I’m finding many potential problems (not with your content, but things that our advertisers will object to.)

I don’t think it would be fair for us to ask you to alter your blogging style, and I apologize for not reviewing your content more carefully before accepting your site for our network. I’m happy to discuss our editorial guidelines with you and see if we can make it work – but at this time, I cannot issue ad code for your site."

I'm not angry about not being accepted, I'm angry because they didn't properly research my site, and made me fill out all their paperwork. It's like ten pages! They have all my personal information, which makes me very uneasy.

What should I say to this broad? I have re-written my email about five times already because it mainly consists of every curse word under the sun.

Express to them how disappointed you are. No, let me take it back. Be outraged. Don't use curse words but tell them the impact their poor service has done to you. Filling out 10 pages takes time and that time is now wasted.

I wouldn't demand anything but I'd just tell them how discouraged I am because of HER mistake. That might stir a positive reaction (maybe compensation in some form).

That's the thing, everytime I start writing I come off as snarky and I need them to understand that they are incompetent fools for making me go through this.

Have you asked them to delete your information

Is it me or is there no privacy policy?

They also have a high rate of cash that they keep.

Under 1 million impressions they keep 50 percent
Over 1 million impressions they keep 40 percent

    That pretty much sucks

For a start I would ask for written comfirmation they have deleted your data. I would also request a letter to be addressed to your home address. Dated and signed by all three of them.
If they want to be awkward then you can be.

That sounds good. That was bigger concern, was that they had all my personal details! I only signed up with them because I cannot for the life of me get a Blogads invite, and I didn't like Adbrite, so I thought I should give them a whirl.

I never use Ads because generally it sucks

I would just move on... I like your blog. A lot of other people will like your blog and already like your blog.

You don't want sponsorship that doesn't approve what you are about. If it bothers you that they object - then clean your site up. But, then you are blogging for them, not you. There are lots of monetization options out there that would love to advertise on your blog.

Of course, I don't know how much they are willing to pay, but you are a new blog - time will be your friend.

PS - you need a Favicon .. Maybe a miniature FHG image?

(PPSS: That was advice to NOT send any email and ruin future chances with anybody associated with BlogHer at this time. Just say - "Thank you for considering me." and move on)

Thank you PetLvr, I really appreciate that. Would you happen to know of any alternatives? What's a Favicon?

a favicon appears in the upper left portion of the address bar. so here at BC, it's a little red square with a white bc in it. it's generally a mini-logo to help brand your site (and favicons show up in your favourties/bookmarks next to the link - quick visual reminder of the site)

    Other opportunities will arise.

I hope so, but I'm just going to focus on writing for now. Ads are such a headache to deal with. I like writing whatever I want, and I know you don't get that much flexibility with advertisers.

just put a tag cloud like mine will do... cheerz.

If I get any more blogads invites, I'll keep you at the top of my list.
They are very hard to come by, even for long standing members like me.
But blogads takes time and hard work to make money.
You don't just install the code and watch money roll in, you have to submit to the various "ad hives" that fit your blogs niche. They have to accept you, they will review your site thoroughly, and you have to have a minimum of 50,000 visitors a month to even be considered for blogads.
    Do you have that?
    1. happyfoodgirl
50,000 a month? Honestly? No. However, I have looked at every page in my hive of interest, and some of them don't even qualify. I've seen pages that's been taken down, or aren't even in the top 100,000. Most of them aren't even updated daily.

I appreciate you keep an eye out mskat. I'm just going to focus on building readers for now. I'm well aware of how the ads work. I don't expect to be rich anytime soon. It would be nice though
