I don't blog about African issues nyirendac but last week I learned about Afrigator (www.afrigator.com). That might have some sites you've not heard of.

Good idea Clement. I suppose not many BC members blog about African issues. I, as you know, blog about universal and U.S. current events from an African's (in America)perspective.
However, your query raises another interesting question. What percentage of common Africans blog?
I have no idea but I suppose not enough. Blogging is a powerful tool. It has, in its immature state, been used as a vehicle to raise awareness on otherwise unspoken issues (Valerie Plame & Scooter Libby and the Jena 6 for example). What would the world be like if many common residents of Africa blogged regularly? -
You're one of the few visitors I've ever had from sub-Saharan Africa. The only other one was in South Africa, I think. I'll keep you in mind if I run into something good.
I do have a few relevant history resources listed at

And I imagine you know about Coopers Darfur blog?

Not a blog, but a website to a radio show I used to enjoy, before the station went all classical: www.afropop.org/ -
And a link to a progressive radio station here in DC:

Hi, heard of pambazuka? www.pambazuka.org
I spent a while in Africa and like most people, fell in love with the continent. I have done a few posts on my blog that refer to development in Africa. (Be warned, I am a bit cynical at times.)

I've never been to Africa myself but here at Georgia Tech we have a lot of students from Cameroon, Morrocco, Ivory Coast, Liberia and other West African countries and you kind of fall in love with their mentality and way towards life. They really are splendid people as far as I cant ell.

I blog about events in Africa that are of broad interest to people who work in aviation around the world. For instance, I've done these 4 Africa-related posts in since May 1:
In Aircrew Buzz -- two about the Kenya Airways crash in Cameroon, and one about the grounding of seven Nigerian domestic air carriers.
In Cabin Crew News - one about a protest by Air Namibia cabin crew over long work hours.
By the very nature of their work, people who work in aviation (my primary readership) have a global perspective. They are very interested in what's going on with other crew members around the world, and about issues related to aviation safety and security wherever they arise. -
I've only done one post on Africa, but if you'd like to see it:

It's fairly short.
