   Oh, those windows. Yeah. It's a precaution so you get as many shards of glass in you as possible. Gotta look battered and stuff in case you survive and there's someone to sue.

   Well, if it has side airbags, the windows will help keep them in place at the actual deployment, whether they break or not they will have done their part to ensure that the bags deploy correctly.
   
   I know that there was a big debate a long time ago on whether the side airbags should be disabled if the window was down for that exact reason.

   I don't want my windows to go up unexpectedly! What if my elbow is sticking out the open window? Or my dog's head??
   
   Just one more reason to hate BMWs.
