My husband has named him Bob and I now have posted pics on my blog of Bob in action. You can see them here: sweetvioletsa.blogspot.com/2009/08/mr-weaver-bird-at-work.html

Believe it or not, the pictures were taken in South Africa's equivalent to February! What does February look like where you live?

LOL, the birds here are lazy, they build nest in our air conditioners.
    Nice shots. (pictures)

The doves and pigeons around here are not so finicky about locating their nests, but I've never seen a weaver bird this close to the house. We have a stand of tall pines at the back of the property and there is a large colony of them back there...far, far away from the house! But this past weekend, two males started building their nests literally outside the bedroom window. The first pic shows where the nests are in proximity to the house.

How beautiful! That looks like summertime, here February (or, dead winter) is grey, cold, the earth is hard and frozen, and all but the evergreens are bare and stark.

    And no birds

We have about 9 months of spring/summer here, the rest of the year we've got rain and temperatures we consider cold, but are well above freezing.

I once lived in Boston...I can remember a killer (literally) blizzard in mid-March...
