At one time it was loosing my hair, Opps too late for that now. I guess it is Lighting, by the time you have heard the Thunder it is too late. :-\
  2. crpitt
I am not keen on heights, that whole vertigo thing.

What scares me? I have a rather overactive imagination so i tend to scare myself
    1. Norski
Heights? Not so much that for me: it's the depths past the edge of a height.
    2. crpitt
Heights don't bother me, but my brain cant process them! so i am left feeling sick
  3. cooper
Not much really. I don't like the sight of blood.
  4. tenanimalsdrool
    running out of money, huh^^
  5. scorpy01
Heights, but not closed-in like elevators, airplanes or looking out of the window in a tall building. Open heights, like more than 3 rungs up a ladder.

And bugs. Mostly flying bugs because I actually kind of like spiders, but I don't like ants, flies, wasps, bees. In fact, I'm terrified of anything other than spiders. I don't know why.

Maybe these aren't fears. They're phobias because they're irrational.
  6. jungl
    Religious people.
    1. clioandme
All religious people? Or do you mean those who would force the world to come around to their way of living?
    2. jungl
People that write like this: "The Almighty Father, our Saviour, will rescue His children blah blah blah".

      ;-)
    3. azoverload
      hahahah... me too!
    4. MadameX
      I'm not scary.

      Really.
    5. clioandme
No, Tiffany. But you're also not preaching to us.

[Edit: I think Jungl is talking about proselytizing.]
    6. MadameX
I know, Mark. I know what he meant. But it really irks me that the least Christian people I know are the ones who have somehow become the poster children for religion. I suspect it's simply because they're the loudest, but it's frustrating.
  7. clioandme
My country's president and vice president.
  8. SocialCitizen
    Sharks. Seriously...deathly afraid!
    1. MadameX
Do you live in an area where you're likely to come in contact with sharks?
  9. clioandme
Riding in the front seat of a car with a driver who's got something to prove on a German autobahn with no speed limits.
  10. helloitsme
Internet fraud. That's after reading one too many police reports of peoples' lives being seriously messed with after electronic identity theft. Gulp.
  11. gosmelltheflowers
That bit in the movie when you just KNOW its going to make you jump. Female flower Em had hypnotherapy to overcome her fear of spiders and male flowers Jim did the a 218 m high bungee jump to overcome his fear of heights.

    :0)
    1. crpitt
I hate those movie bits too!
  12. robinj
    All of the above
  13. ritubpant
Wife! kidding LOL! Well I am scared of heights too, seems like a common phobia here among BC members. I dont mind em' at times but if I get close to the edge, then i get pretty uncomfortable and nervous which can trigger my body to lose control and end my life ( Wow! I can ramble )
  14. DoubleTake
...George Bush falls ill and Dick Chaney takes over as President! Dr. Evil and Mini Me!

the other, being buried alive, stuck in a box for eternity but couldn't die.
  15. QuestionHillary
Billary back to bunking in the Lincoln bedroom while Bin Laden's nut hatches build bombs to bedevil ALL of our futures.

I'd vote for Maliki, for anything, before putting those narcissistic bumbling bozos in (no) control of our collectivist futures, and our children's security.

Aside from that, I don't like pit bulls.
    1. scorpy01
      Easy on the Pit Bulls.
  16. azoverload
I think I am most afraid something is going to happen to my kids... mainly abduction.

I tend to be a bit neurotic at times... I have even started a personal deathpool on my blog because I see chaos everywhere. Mainly covering "what if" scenarios etc.
  17. lisamcglaun
Simple...getting stabbed...I can thank the movie Halloween for that one..:)
  18. Norski
Getting more political than I usually do:

People who don't bother to get informed, don't really care, but who vote anyway.

Low voter turnout can be a good thing!
    1. jungl
That reminds me; politicians scare me and police and big blue eyes.
    2. Norski
      Oh, dear.

I'm still keeping that avatar. It's 'way too distinctive to give up.

My oldest daughter has told me that it's disturbing, too: so you're not alone.
    3. clioandme
I used to find it creepy, but now I'm used to your voice and see the eye a little differently.
    4. crpitt
Hey i have big blue eyes! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
    5. clioandme
Yes, but we see both of yours---along with a face.
  19. crkian
I have to be honest, I am still looking for something that scares me, ive tried numerous things and still nothing, perhaps I have a design flaw
    1. clioandme
I can think of some things, but I don't want to jinx you by writing them down here. I better go knock on wood now.
    2. crkian
Oh maybe my ex wife naked
  20. MadameX
Sending my child off to middle school each day.
  21. VampireFaust
Hyperdermic needles and roaches are at the top of my list...clowns also creep me out to no end!
    1. crpitt
      AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
  22. neoauteur
I'm really scared of dogs. This is quite strange since I'm not scared of any other animals including snakes, mountain lions, ect...I'm a pet owner myself. I guess I have Louis Pasteur to thank for.
    1. clioandme
The problem with that is that dogs know it too. I hope you've learned to fake it.
  23. aningeniousname
The vapid celebrity culture that seems to be acceptable as news in the best selling newspapers and sad decline of journalism in general.
The alarming islamophobia and willful ignorance of other cultures, the situation reminds me of the old news reels of thirties Germany. The eternal Jew anyone?
    1. clioandme
And you can find that movie on YouTube, or you could, complete with praise from idiotic commentators.
  24. stacirose
    Indifference.
    1. helloitsme
Powerful response, stacirose. You shifted my perspective with one word.
  25. People
Spaces between words and exclamation marks.
  26. bnsullivan
    Centipedes.
    1. clioandme
But everything you've met under the sea is okay, right?
    2. bnsullivan
      Mark -- Generally speaking, nothing I have met under the sea has really scared me -- although a one-time encounter with a very large tiger shark did speed up the ol' heart rate quite a bit. ;-}
  27. kaybday
    Close places/crowds.
  28. jeauxzdollz
The fact that our government has handed America over to the big corporations, and is engaged in a not so subtle war on the middle-class...that keeps me up at night!
  29. clioandme
Data loss! Someone dug up that old thread from the beginning of July, and I thought we were right back there again.
  30. zawadi
