Book of Revelations...Fact or Fiction?

Every family has one of those crazy bible thumping aunts/uncles in them right? Well, mine does. I grew up Catholic, went from agnostic to atheist back to agnostic again, and now I'm comfortably non religious, though I do agree with the ideals of Buddhism. My aunt is convinced the apocalypse is coming soon and is on a mission to save me. She sent me a good intentioned email, that while her heart was in the right place, left me seething.
I looked into it and found many Christians who believe the Book of Revelations is in fact a work of fiction, put into the bible (well, some bibles) to test their faith, to see if they can spot a false prophet...or something. And that the guy who wrote it was a well known propagandist in his time. I don't know. I'm sure this will stir up some lively religious debate, but it was just something that ticked me off and I wanted to share...
I just wish some people wouldn't try to scare others into religion...what kind of faith is that? Driven by fear?

I read the Book of Revelations and it seems like you have to be on the good drugs to understand it.
An aside: I have an Aunt who is uber-Christian as well. Before I got married she interrogated me and my husband-to-be on which God we believed in, and if it was the same as hers. According to her, if our beliefs didn't match up she wouldn't feel comfortable being in our wedding (READ: supporting us). Then she went on to lecture us about having "Godly seed" (kids) which was apparently THE SOLE reason to get married. Weird.-
You mean to say actually loving your partner wasn't her main reason for thinking you wanted to be married? Wow, if all you wanted was kids why go to the effort of finding a mate, may as well justa stood in a bus shelter with a sign on your forehead

I know, right? According to her: not wanting to have kids is SELFISH. The church I attended for a hot minute even went so far as to reprimand married couples for using birth control. Hahaha. Again, weird.

A reprimand in the form of preaching to them about their selfishness and insinuating they may want to find a new church because their lifestyle didn't really coincide with the church's mission.
-The mission being the spreading of Christianity from one generation to another... you know, by having kids. Which again was supposed to be our only reason for getting married in the first place. -
LOL. Neither am I. But since people are entitled to their beliefs, I just decided it wasn't the place for me.
I tolerated my Aunt because even though we don't see eye to eye on most things, I still respect her. -

Oh boy... NO
The apocalypse happens daily spiritually to man.
The Book of Revelation is a blue print of your 7 chakras or spiritual centers.
The book is speaking in detail of cleaning out the chakras.
If you have heard the term "making way for the lord".
This is what that term means. The 7 spiritual centers must be cleansed and rid of unholy negative emotions and inner demons so that the kundalini spiritual power can ascend to the crown.
This is what they meant by making way for the lord.
Make way for the kundalini spiritual power to ascend on up as the upraised serpent.
This is an inner spiritual war but it can also be a physical war too which will come from World Leader's acting a fool and the Lord will come to clean the physical up too.
Fire will be the main tool/weapon used in this war and many things will be burned.
Just like the Kundalini spiritual power burns away dross and negative emotions in the 7 chakras,
fire will also be used to destroy many nations in the physical world.
Remember... as above, so below.-

There must be some Truth there because of it was written via the Sound Current, it's a dead giveaway for anyone that knows it.
But the Book Revelation is pretty twisted these days and has spawned many a cult and fanatic. I think the Sermon on the Mount is a good point of reference to build ones life on and I'd be very cautious of translations of the Revelation that we see now.
Revelation creates fear, the God of Wrath, Doom and Gloom, Burn in Hell nonsense, a very ugly God.
My God is a God of Love, the path way to God is through Love and compassion not fear.
Some have said that one of the horseman that was released was the Iraq situation. i'm in agreement with that, but it's neither here nor there in the scheme of things.
I think there is an esoteric perspective to it as well as a prediction of things (possibly) to come. But when it comes down to it, there are multiple time lines and possibilities and to say that it is the only possibility is miles off the mark. I think what John saw was a possible 'potential' situation and is not set in concrete.
Ultimately it's a reminder to live a compassionate life but unfortunately it's used by many as a big stick to force people to 'be good' or else. I don't like that approach, it's very limited, exclusive and creates an US and THEM situation. -

Don't believe any of these sentences as they will cloud your vision and create doubt.
This is nothing more than your invisible fears.
As far as the guy who wrote it ... that is utter crap.
The book was already written thousands of years ago by others who had already walked the path.
The kundalini information I gave you above is a great start on the path of truth that you seek.-

There are some say that Jesus didn't exist. Whereas I'm confident he travelled India but that post stired up a lot of stuff last year -

YES it does matter because a man could be living a beautiful simple life and his spiritual centers are as dirty and unholy as the deepest pit in hell.
Plus the serpent which is the feminine spiritual power will never be upraised as it should be.
The book is really about cleaning it out, a spring cleaning and restoring the kundalini energy flow in the right direction, upwards. It is because of karma, sin and imperfection or even something gone haywire in the DNA that caused the energy to descend instead of ascend.

Burning away dross is not necessarily a evil, bad gods curse upon man
This is actually a loving act because it is burning away of past negative karma
trapped in the spiritual centers of man.
I sometimes clear my back yard's garden by setting small fires to clear the area
and it does so beautifully and creates new life.
It is the same with the Chakras and the energy centers.
If the Book of Revelations is twisted like you said acousticguitarist,
it is only so because man doesn't want to open the eye to see the truth.

This isn't the book I know, the book that creates this type of fear that you are speaking of comes from organized religion trying to gain mass control over people and their lives.
Such as Pope, archbishops, priest and such.
You can clean out your own church within, its your spiritual centers. -
I think most people have to realize that all living things have an invisible spiritual nature.
Just because you cannot see change happening all around you doesn't mean it's mean
it's not happening. It just means you are blind as a bat and need some eyeglasses.
Luckily for you, someone or something installed you an invisible or hidden eye
that you do not normally use and I strongly suggest you open it.-
I think there is change. Massive change.

The burning away dross, is that refering to people that aren't Spiritual? Doomed for hell, you sinners burn? I'd be careful of that type of thinking...we are holy they are doomed sinners, that's pretty comon amongst most Spiritual groups, the chosen ones, all others are non Spiritual. That's Spiritual pride. I have met lots of people that wear white, do mantras and think they are special because of it, but these are the most judgemental people I have ever met. They even think because hey are vegetarian they are special. Or if they like the Dalai Lama that they are Spiritual, but often they frown upon Christians. It's all pretty delusional really.
There are two ways that I know of that work with clearing the Chakras, there are probably many ways but there's so much crap. One useful tech is ' The Rainbow Bridge ' technique. I'd only recommend it if you live in the country and don't need to communicate any longer with humans.
The other is Surat Shabd Yoga. I constantly hear people talking about techniques that I"ve never looked at so if they work for you fantastic.
I would like to get a copy of the scriptures in their original form. But ultimately all of that stuff just creates a chain, even a golden chain is a chain.
Where I live there are lots of cults, religious groups, sects, organised religions, we get a great view of delusion, Spiritual elitism and great lessons on how not to live your life.

That's Spiritual pride acousticguitarist, you are absolutely 100% correct here.
All have to be aware of this and be careful not to fall into that trap or pit.
I have heard of the Rainbow Bridge technique but I never attempted any of to use it or shikipati.
My kundalini release happened naturally just a few years ago during the alignment of the planets.
It was as natural as my hot flashes will be when I go throught "the change".
Every woman goes through that too and that's a natural event.
"The Doomed for hell, you sinners burn", is what organized religion does to control the masses.
Also these teaching are 100% false.
That has nothing to do with the chakras and the energy centers. Each man/woman has the charkras already inside them, most don't take the time to open them and clean them out, so they are harboring all these nasty negative energies and demonlike energies inside the chakras, which is and has been referred to as the 7 churches. If you Churches are dirty, you can live the best life in world but you are still dirty spiritually and the energy is descending into the wrong direction.
It should be ascending upwards.
Also the 3rd eye, everyone has but not everyone works on trying to get theirs opened.
The 3rd eye is used to see the spiritual paths inside you.
You are actually looking inside your own spiritual body and you can literally see yourself walking the paths or the spirtual centers.-

How do I know so much this stuff??? I am actually living it daily.
Inside man is a solar system of planets and a path that leads out into the universe.
That is why the Great pyramid was build, it's shows the same blue print of solar planets
that man has inside spiritually.
The Bible itself is actually a run off from the Pyramid Text.
The Psalms and Revelations speak in detail about your eye. The 3rd eye and what it is used for.
Also there are many similarities in the Pyramid text that explain many parts of the Bible in detail.
Another alignment will come soon and I am preparing for it.
There is lots to see out beyond the veil. -
I'm a little lost here.. what's actually written in the book of revelations-
It basically talks of the end of the world as we know it. It's supposed to be a detailed account of all that is to take place. There's monsters, false prophets, war, execution, branding, trumpets, and I think Jesus makes an appearance.
I think it's an exciting read for believers and non-believers alike.
Edited to add: It's the last book of the New Testamant in the Bible. -

When I look at evil men like President Bush, I can easily see the demons working over time in him. But this is really a spiritual war with inner negative energies that need to be destroyed.
So yes the monsters, false prophets, war, execution, branding, trumpets is basically all that is being cleaned in you and me if you act to clean them.
What is there to fear???? This is why the church it wrong, there is nothing to fear,
your centers should be cleaned.
The fearful interpretation that most people received is wrong and terribly inaccurate,
creates false fear and hatred and dissension in the spiritual powers.
Most Churches today are to blame for this huge lie that they are feeding you.
What I just describe here for you is nothing to fear, it is a natural spiritual event
for all, if we act to open the centers and clean them.
Churches and Organization like Jehovah's Witnesses never even discuss the chakras period.
That's alright Jill you don't have to understand what I am talking about but some reading this will and those the one's that will understand what I am telling them here. -

Also I would like to add that the "Book of Psalms" was not just the ramblings of King David.
What you are looking at there is actually David walking the spiritual path and he is seeing in detail through the centers, he is awe and he is in praise of his God.
Psalms 23 (The lord is my shepherd)this is what the Lord is actually doing for you
during your walk on the path and he is actually walking with you.
Psalms 119 is more on the structure of the Kabbalah/Tarot side
which shows the Tarot path from Aleph/fool - Tau/world.
You are actually spiritually walking through these hidden paths in the Tarot.
Your goal is to walk up towards Aleph the Crown, which opens out into the Universe.
Now if you actually take the time to read the entire Book of Psalms
you will see many verses in the Chapter's speak in detail about the eye.
Psalm 19:7-11
"The law of Lord is perfect, bringing back the soul.
The reminder of the Lord is trustworthy, making the inexperienced one wise.
The orders from the Lord are upright, causing the heart to rejoice;
The commandment of the Lord is clean, making the eyes shine.
The fear of the Lord is pure, standing forever.
The judicial decisions of the Lord are true; they have proved altogether righteous.
They are more to be desired than gold, yes, than much refined gold;
And sweeter than honey and the flowing honey of the combs.
Also, your own servant has been warned by them;
In the keeping of them there is a large reward".
These 3 sentences speak of the...
#1 The law of Lord is perfect, bringing back the soul.
This is exactly what happens when you are in alignment with the spiritual order.
The soul actually return and ascends upwards in the correct direction
and yes it is your actual soul that is going in that direction.
#2 The orders from the Lord are upright, causing the heart to rejoice
The Heart chakras will open, direct contact to your HGA
and a telephone cord to reach your HGA or higher self.
#3 The commandment of the Lord is clean, making the eyes shine.
Well they all do, all 3 of them. When your 3rd eye is open,
you actually see a blinding white light project there naturally.
Especially when you are lying flat on your back in bed, this seems to be a easy flow position
for the energies to go upward and you can actually see this light extend before the eyebrow area.
There is no doubting it when you see it.
You will know the eye is open and working.
Plus the top of your crown will feel very cool at times, sometimes very hot when the kundalini is burning dross.
Cool when it is resting and not working to burn anything. -
If what's written in the Book of Revelations is like what JillSaxon said, then I believe it is Fact.
There's monsters (I do believe that lizard kind of animal will arise and can talk to human),
false prophets (this must be about the anti-christ),
war (May be the Armageddon which is the war around the city of Magedo), execution (I'm not sure about this one),
branding (neither this one),
trumpets (This must be the trumpets that will destroy the whole universe and the one that will raise the people),
and I think Jesus makes an appearance (Well I'm looking forward about this, When jesus rule the world in the golden years everything will be live in peace, even wolf can live with together with lamb,) -

Nothing is destroying the Universe, the people are being raised already when the kundalini energy
is running upwards in the right direction. If you want resurrection just make sure your is.
That is your actual soul and your soul's own raising or resurrection already.
