Am now asking you a question from my experience with blogging till.. I have noticed that the pages bookmarked links from twitter digg etc are showing above the real pages for the pages that are bookmarked..

And noticed that my alexa and google page ranking for twitter and alike bookmarking sites pages are far more than the one for my actual blog pages..Isn't the fact saying traffic is directed to those pages for my keywords?

Am strongly getting the feeling that if i haven't bookmarked those pages i would have got my blog ranked better instead of the bookmarking services pages..

Am not saying that i want to be ranked more than the real twitter pages..Am saying the twitter pages with my bookmarks are ranked much than the real blog pages..

Alexa ranking is showing the traffic rate rite? If so my twitter page is having good alexa ranking than my blog's pages..

Wat you people think? Will my pages had received the traffic went to twitter and others if i haven't bookmarked them??

You're saying that a twitter page with a link to YOUR article is ranking higher than the actual article, and that's a problem? The people going to those sites are probably moving on to your actual site. Isn't that (at least partially) the point of using those social networking sites, to drive traffic to your site? Or am I not understanding the problem.

Your blog can rank even if you don't submit it to social bookmarking sites. How? Well, I have seen blogs that were not promoted and yet they ranked in SEs. What's the secret? Provide good contents. That's it.

I don't think that's what he's getting at. I think JP has isolated what he means.

Not many of us blogger have blogs that have PageRanks that are higher than the social network sites we promote our posts on do.

Consequently, when we promote a post on BC or on another social network the entry from the social network is found higher in the SERPs than the original post in our blog is found.

That's the trade-off we make when we become members of social networks and promote our posts in them. The reason we do it is because the social network will targeted send traffic to the original post -- more traffic than our original post would have otherwise garnered.

The other benefits we stand to derive from that targeted traffic is a a higher likelihood that readers will become regular readers, and a higher likelihood that some of those targeted readers may choose to backlink to our posts in new posts of their own.

Search engine spiders are constantly following links and discovering new content. So even though you "know" that certain sites weren't promoted, it had to make it into the search engine somehow.

You have to ask yourself what the real goal is. For MOST "search phrases" people end up ranking for, it doesn't really matter who shows up #1 or #100 because No One Is Typing It In To The Search Engine! So for the vast majority of posts you are going to get more traffic from a good bookmark (better if you actually promote the bookmark a little) and they have a higher SERP ranking than you would if you were in the number one spot anyhow.

You have to use the bookmarking wisely though. Articles can rank for things that actually get searched and bring traffic through for you, not su much bookmarks. So if you are using bookmarks, you need to develop a following and best of all if that following is social and others can see that Jim follows you and start following you also (Think SU, Twitter, etc) You don't worry about page rank, SERPS, link juice and all that, you just build a network that allows you to leverage the trust people have for the people who are following you.

Now, on a site like BC, you can start your own forum section, or join one that is closely related, post great posts and actually rank for good search terms and get the follow through traffic and the trust leverage.

"Will my pages had received the traffic went to twitter and others if i haven't bookmarked them??"

In the SERPs (search engine result pages) for your keywords, are your pages showing one spot below your Twitter page, or twenty spots below your Twitter page?
