Do you prefer films or books?

I think I'm a film fan. Is there a book you really want to be a film? I think they should do Artemis Fowl.

      Know what you mean.

I like both...I have as many films as I have books...though I watch more films, just because they take less time and are more sociable! "Hey, you wanna come round to mine and read in silence?"...doesn't quite work..

As for a book I'd like to see as a film...I really want The Aeneid to be made into an epic movie...they'd probably mess it up though...maybe I'll just wait till I'm a successful film-maker and do it myself!

Heck yeah they would mess it up! Did you see "Troy" with Brad Pitt and Eric Bana?

Let's not talk about Troy...it was hideous...I have tried to erase it from my memory!

I love reading and watching films. So often when I've read a good book which is then made into a movie, they just don't capture the book well. The Godfather may be an exception. I'd love to see a film made of King's Duma Key, though.

I'm not much of a reader, probably b/c growing up I never read anything that got me hooked. I did read through the sequel to Gone With The Wind and the first Harry Potter book but that's about it. I am a wait-until-the-movie comes out kind of girl.

Hubby and daughter are both hooked on sci-fi books. My daughter loves anything with dragons or cats in it.

Books. There are far more books worth their money than movies.

both r good but i would go with films.
flims are at an advantage as 1 can see them visually and get more engrosed in it.
I like books too...especially sci-fic n ya...sidney sheldon novels are on top of the list.

I am definitely a reader. As much as I love movies, they just don't resonate with me the same way a really good book does. It would have to an absolutely amazing movie to make me want to watch it over and over again. I rarely watch movies more than once. Twice, once in the theater and once on DVD, if it's really good. If it's struck a chord with me, then I may watch it repeatedly (this is very rare). Books on the other hand, I read over and over and over again. I have read "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen at least ten times and I never get tired of it. The same goes for any David Sedaris collection.

Definitely prefer books. It's extremely rare that I prefer the movie version of a story over the book version. That said, I'd love to see David Eddings' Belgariad series made into a trilogy. I've had to buy three sets of the books so far because I reread them so often.

Books...for sure. When books get translated into film something gets lost in the process. Sure, the Lord of the Rings films were good, but the books were much better.
