Those of you who are looking on, and not reacting. How can you sit idly by and watch your fellow men and women be subjected to such tyranny? I ask you, what if this was you? When does it stop? Is there no justice in this virtual world we so frequently visit? It is time. Time to stand up for what we believe in and overthrow the great oppressor! Go back to when we had rights! *fist bang* When we could speak freely *fist bang* and when we had no worries of whether or not we would be judged based on religion! *double fist bang*

Oh brother......
Ok...I'm back......
To tell you the truth, I haven't even been on the site for weeks now and yours was the 1st one I read.
But I'll tell you what? In all fairness as Deray28 has stated above: " then the God thread, "The atheism is for the weak minded and the Christ Jesus thread should be deleted then".
IS....Right. I hadn't seen that one yet.
Oh hell,....never mind, way to much trouble to go back and read them all.
I will grant you your wish DBowless, let me bring it back to life.
OR.... perhaps we should have a vote?
Those in favor of me deleting those other threads say "I"
Those in favor of me bring back the "Criss Angel aka Jesus Christ" thread back, then say "ayi, ayi"

I sit before you again friends. But this time in VICTORY! *fist bang* We have slain the great oppressors! We have overthrown the tyrannous reign! It was a long, and hard journey. Nearly 30 minutes we fought the oppressors, but our efforts have paid off! Tonight, we are victorious! *fist bang* Let us dine on the corpses of our enemies, and pay respect to those that gave their lives. They died a most glorious death, and tonight their sacrifice has paid off!

Time in
And dammit to hell I missed it all...I said time out....y'all know the rules,y'all are just just just rule breakers ...uh huh that's what y'all are...
Mannnnn I always miss the good stuff,no fair I'm still gonna torch sumthn-
lol
Well....just so you know......I deleted it b/c I considered it being a personal attack on peoples personal beliefs and religion and as you know, man has gone to war over stuff like this for much less and for some crazy reason I don't get why people don't keep the religion discussions out of here, it always causes chaos.
Do I hear an amen?
just kidding.

@ angie I don't think anyone takes those discussions serious anymore. I know I don't. I mean personally. I believe what I believe and I give a dayum about the rest.....so much easier that way

Carry On ... > www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/criss-angel-jesus
Though, I still might delete the "The atheism is for the weak minded"

Angie...
I think - and this is just my own opinion... OK? Please read this with a very open mind. No condescension - no anger - no telling you what to do... Just offering my opinion with some serious understanding of how difficult it is.
In ALL fairness - threads, unless personally attacking or absolutely extreme vulgarity --- or violating the rules... they probably shouldn't be deleted... Unless BC is going to advocate itself as a specific type of website. (Example: as a Christian Right Wing site or as a Sex Ring or as a Females only website or a Gay website... etc. etc. ad infinitum )
Since BC is not labeled as being a specific type of site - and since there are a variety of types of people who participate that are varied in religion, concepts and otherwise - the toleration of both religious and anti religious threads probably needs to be expressed.
I realize that it might have personally been affronting to you based on your personal religious philosophy or personal beliefs however, some people might be affronted by the espousing of Christian beliefs or philosophies which have been proportionally allowed here on BC.
Which creates a situation where everyone has to make a decision:
A) Either allow ALL threads unless personally threatening or extremely vulgar or extreme trolling.
or
B) Declare BC a specific type of business.
This might be difficult for someone who has personal beliefs one way... But it is appropriate in a business sense.
Since BC is about blogs on a worldwide scale - there are a ton of religious beliefs around the world. Some believe in God, some believe in multiple Gods, Some believe in Christ - others believe in Buddah, or Krishna or even... none at all. There are literally millions of beliefs.
So - beliefs are going to be varied - and therefor opinions about beliefs will also be varied. Which means one person may find religion to be something to make fun of - and another person may take religion seriously and others may not care one way or another.
Which is where toleration should be placed into effect.
People who don't believe in your (or anyone's) religion should tolerate posts about your (or anyone's) religion - or lack of religion - or other people's posts - and in return there should be toleration about other people's religion or lack of religion.
Humor is varied. Some may find Prostitute jokes as hilarious - whereas some may find them vulgar. Some may find blind jokes as funny and some may find them offensive.
Prostitutes have been deemed universally as probably vulgar - whereas blindness has not.
So the Prostitute Joke probably would be easily deleted - whereas the blind joke is a "taste" thing.
I think that while it may have offended you personally - that is a PERSONAL thing and not a BUSINESS thing... And the line needs to be carefully crossed. If you know what I mean.
I also have things that would affect me personally that I would probably want to delete --- but would probably step back from them and ask others to handle that particular type of stuff especially if I realized that it was a conversation or thread that espoused a topic like religion that affected me personally based on how I felt about the topic...
If it isn't a violation of the rules DEFINITELY - then to delete something that is offensive based on a religious opinion, is unfair unless the religious affiliation of the business is expressed openly.
I hope that I am making sense and not causing any problems.
I appreciate like heck that you took the time to reinstate the conversation that was brought up.
But I thought I might explain what I was thinking so that it might help you in the future - or anyone in the future.
I have had to deal with the religion issue at work and professionally before when I had one employee who was a very born again Christian and another employee who was Muslim and another was Atheist...
I had to learn toleration and I had to teach toleration to them and force them to tolerate each other's space.
It was not an easy task.
And while I was more in agreement with one - ALL of them had to be treated equally.
And let me tell you - they all wanted to bring their religion or lack of religion with them to EVERY single conversation and used their religion or lack of religion to almost every aspect of the job.
So I can empathize with your situation.
And I wanted to share my experience and thoughts on this particular situation - and hope that it gave you a little help or insight... I hope. -

@ Sweet WagerWitch, : D
I appreciate the time you took to write all of this and I am in no way offended or angry. In fact, I think you’re a very sincere and caring lady who always means well.
Of course I also understand what you are saying and do thank you taking the time to say everything you wrote and you might be surprised that I agree with just about everything you wrote.
The point I made above though says that the negative part of these kinds of threads is that most people do seem to take these types of threads very seriously and forget that 95% of the time they are more about entertainment then poking fun at people.-
*wink*
Yes. Those who write threads that are provocative or aggressive about religion are usually doing it to get a response - or to get people stirred up either for their discussion or against it.
In a way - it is a communication technique.
Some do so for humor - and the remainder of those do it as a troll behavior to insult others.
Personally I find SOME of the discussions entertaining and some of them to be funny... others are just boring... and a few are annoying - but me... I tend to ignore most of what I find to be annoying. Most... not all... LOL!
But then I try to look at the bright side of things always.
