I just created a community based photoblog called Earth Friendly Photoblog

It's a photoblog which showcases photographers and photography enthusiasts who are also concerned about the environment. We are using photography as an agent of change for the better. Sometimes words are not enough.

Do any of you photographers out there have a particular digital camera that you recommend? I have a Powershot but I've been really unhappy with it. I'm old school when it comes to cameras and am having a hard time letting go of my 1985 35mm Minolta...I've heard good things about the Nikon D40?? I'm trying to make a purchase before I head to Dallas for a big convention in two weeks.

  i'm using olympus-410 digital camera which is suitable for all weather ... so far i'm very happy with it since i bought it years ago ... simple yet reliable ...

  I love my Canon 20d, but with lenses, etc. this can be an expensive camera (unless you're a pro, then it's probably pretty cheap...).

VampireFaust, that model would have been obsolete by now as there're newer models replacing it but if you still can get it, then go ahead ... worth the money ... but if you're looking for higher megapixel, you might want to get the latest model ... i'm just not that kinda person who's crazy enough to keep changing model ... but that's jsut me ...

  I think for what I am going to be using it for (mostly capturing high quality press pics from conventions and conferences, etc.) I probably want to go with a more compact camera...but I have to admit that when it comes to digital cameras it's rather overwhelming to me. *clings to 35mm with black and white film*

and I use Nikon Film Camera.. I am old school.. I tried Panasonic Lumix because of the Leica Lens and it sucks! Maybe I will upgrade to Nikon DSL One day. Canon Digital Rebel is good and very user friendly.

i'm using an Olympus E-1. Costly, but well worth the investment. I've taken some pretty kickass shots with the thing (lighting granted, of course! ;P)

yeah. it's really cool being able to take nice looking pictures of your pets. especially now our cat has had kittens, the light was good one day so i was just sat there snapping away contentedly. lol.

I have quite a bit of photography, but I wouldn't say that any of it is particularly about the earth as a subject matter...I am more portrait/texture photography oriented right now...

It is a photoblog; so I can only accept photography but you don't have to be a professional.. just show the world how you see the environment and the world we live in

I decided to take down the popularity thing; I only put it in the first place because I didn't have the recent photograph thing but I don't think it creates a sense of community. Also I will be changing the layout. I am trying to figure out a way to add the links with the photo pages. The new template I want to use only allows name and title which you can see when you click on the pics.

Jungl I will add one of your pics.. Thanks so much for participating.

Is anyone else interested. You don't have to be a professional photographer.
