I have been trying to promote my blog as best as I can. Are there any suggestions as to get it out there and create an audience specifically for my site?

Tell me what you think and what I can do!

Search for forums and message boards you can join that have to do with sports or something that would have a connection with athletic shoes.
Maybe offer a discount coupon code.
For instance, my blog is about crafts. I belong to several message boards about crafts. I offered up a free printable 2009 printable calendar template this weekend and Digi Free site picked the feed up and posted it. 2 different craft message board members posted it on their boards, so I had over 1100 visitors yesterday. Usually I'm lucky to have 100. -
I'm not sure what your blog is for. It's obviously about shoes- but after that I'm unclear about your purpose. I wouldn't exactly know what kind of commentary to leave- even if I were interested in what your blog is about.
Perhaps consider writing a description somewhere? Or adding written messages along with all the imagery?
The design of your page is really great btw. -

Just make sure to try and focus on the right kind of traffic on your blog. Like Craft said getting involved with forums and blogs in the same market is the best way to start promoting your site. But before you do make sure you are 100% happy with your blog and it's layout, content etc.......
First impressions are what's key! You want to make sure the visitors come back. Best of luck and God Bless.

I just went over your blog and it's got lot's of potential but needs a little tweaking to make it more user friendly and more importantly it needs to have more user involvement options. Shout me your e-mail privately if you want and I will do my best to assist if i can. I am no expert but will do my best to help if I can. Best of luck either way and God Bless.

Yes, like I said before and Darrin just said, join message boards that are related to your product. I Have visitors from different craft forums coming to my site. I offered up another free template download today and already had over 150 hits in the last 4 hours. I'm not selling anything but If I did I think this is the way I would promote my blog.

You can talk to carkian on my top friends and see if he can help you with a redesign that shouldn't cost an arm and a leg.
I would go with a smaller banner and create adverts that point to the stuff you are selling. I would resize your shoe pics and make them smaller...align them to the left so you look like a magazine, and at least once a week if not three times a week, write some NEWS worthy information about basketball to promote your site on Digg and stumbleupon.
You can of course buy advertising from google, or you can work for it and create content that pleases readers and use that to market your site.
Label your articles Product Review: Nike Air Jordan in order for SEO to work on your side. Lots of people google "Product review and_____" before buying something, and you being a basketball player have a unique perspective on the shoe which works really well for sales.
When people stop by your page they are going to look at it and think...what is in it for me?
If they aren't interested in buying basketball shoes it makes it tough for them to want to subscribe to your feed etc. Maybe you could write articles on different basketball players or your impressions of what is going on with your favorite professional team...that would get you a fan base that would stick around and eventually buy what you are selling. Your alexa ranking is really high right now and your site could use a lot of marketing and promotion before you would expect to see a dramatic rise in online sales...just my honest opinion. good luck to you dear!

They are good niche blog.
1) What you can do is to find out more of such blogs and comment them.
2) Do an pillar post (a pillar post are great post for attracting traffic) and add them to all major social bookmarking sites.
3) Yahoo Answers do help improve my traffic, try that
4) squidoo ( take awhile)
Try them, you should have good amount of traffic. Do not neglect your internal SEO. it help you do well on Google. -
Style wise, try left aligning the text. Perhaps integraing the images more into the text (having the text wrap around the image. Also maybe use smaller images with a mouse over to enlarge them.
If you can provide a few images with people wearing the shoes, I think that would help as well. Right now, your site looks like a shoe shop more than a blog.
A big plus that'll help your site is reviews on durability, comfort and so on. -
For your first keyword (sneaker) the following problems occured !
Both the text and background of your page have the same color! This is a commonly used way of deceiving search engines and it is easily detected. Change the color of text or background to avoid inevitable problems. If you use images or objects (flash, ActiveX) as background, search engines cannot detect whether background and text colors coincide--they compare body background color with the text color. In this case, make sure the body background color is not the same as the text color. Otherwise, your page may be penalized for nothing, even if the text is visible in browser windows.
Your Title tag is not the first tag in the area of your page! Your Title tag should be placed before all other tags, otherwise search engines may overlook it which will significantly damage your rankings.
Your Title tag has stop words! Words such as "and, on, a, the, for, to, about, are, that, were, by, of" and other auxiliary words are too common and search engines don't take them into consideration. By using a stop word in your Title tag, you potentially damage your rankings. A rule of thumb: the less stop words you use in your Title tag, the better.
3. Your keyword is not as close to the beginning of the Title tag as it should be! Your keyword's prominence is only 33.3% while it should be at least 65%. If possible, move your keyword closer to the beginning of your Title to emphasize its importance and greatly improve your website's prominence.
Your keyword weight in the META Keywords is too low! When it comes to this tag, the higher the keyword weight, the better. Meanwhile, on your page, keyword weight doesn't come to more than 15.4%. Try to remove the least informative and least relevant keywords, thus increasing keyword weight.
Your keyword too often appears in the ALT / TITLE attributes of text and graphical links on this page!
Your keyword is not present in the first 3 ALT image attributes on your page (or there are no ALT attributes at all)! If you have images on your page, put the keyword in one of these ALTs as they are considered more important than the rest of the ALTs on your page. Even though ALT tags haven't gained much importance with Google, the Yahoo! and Windows Live search engines pay much more attention to them.
Your keyword frequency in ALT image attributes is too low! Your keyword should appear 1 to 3 times in ALTs on this page while it is found 0 time(s). You can easily adjust this number with your favorite HTML editor.

For your second keyword (sneakers) the following problems occured !
Your keyword isn't present in the URL! Research of hundreds of search engines top-lists shows that keyword presence in the URL is crucial for achieving high rankings in a search engine's results list. By placing keywords in your domain name, you gain a serious advantage with search engines. If your URL points to an already established and high-ranked web page, we do not recommend altering it. However, this factor is worth considering when you create new pages / sites. Most major search engines favor websites with keywords in their URL; however, remember to use them sensibly and not to abuse them. When optimizing a page for a key phrase, separate keywords in the URL with a hyphen (domain/web-site.html) or an underscore (domain/web_site.html), but do not write them as one word. Otherwise, search engines will understand it as a single word (even if the search engine result highlights this keyword in bold), and your work on URL optimization will be wasted.

Your keyword doesn't have enough weight on your page! Your keyword should constitute at least 2 percent, while with your page it is only 1.0%. Increase the keyword weight so its value ranges within the boundaries of 2-10 percent. Also keep in mind the possibility of using different forms of your keywords. While ranking, search engines consider not only direct matches of keywords, but also their various alterations. For instance, for the query "web hosting," search engines will take into account the occurrences of such words as "host", "hosting", "webhosts" etc. on your pages. In addition, the modification of your keyword makes the content more user-friendly, so your page doesn't look like a readability puzzle stuffed with one and the same keyphrase. And remember: a good technique for writing page copy is to write naturally

For your third keyword (3d sneaker) the following probkems occured !
Both the text and background of your page have the same color! This is a commonly used way of deceiving search engines and it is easily detected. Your keyword weight in the META Keywords is too low! When it comes to this tag, the higher the keyword weight, the better. Meanwhile, on your page, keyword weight doesn't come to more than 15.4%. Try to remove the least informative and least relevant keywords, thus increasing keyword weight.
None of your keywords are in bold! The fact that you put a certain keyword or phrase in bold tells the search engine that you place an emphasis on it. Naturally it considers these words or phrases to be more important than those in regular font. We recommend that you put your key phrase in bold one or more times.
Your keyword doesn't have enough weight on your page! Your keyword should constitute at least 2 percent, while with your page it is only 0.1%. And remember: a good technique for writing page copy is to write naturally.
Your keyword is not present at the end of your page! Your page will be more relevant if your keyword appears at the end of the visible text. To achieve this, put your keyword in the last 50 words of your copy
Your keyword is not present in the first 3 ALT image attributes on your page (or there are no ALT attributes at all)! If you have images on your page, put the keyword in one of these ALTs as they are considered more important than the rest of the ALTs on your page. Hi fellow baller and sneaker collector!
If you didn't sign up with sneaker forums such as ISS and Niketalk yet... do so. If you did, put your blog URL in your signature and post often in the forums. There is a post on the forum where you can post your blog.
Next, you write a lot on particular sneakers. I suggest a magazine type wordpress theme because the regular chronological sequence blog format doesn't work well for those type of posts. -
check my blog and start following it. you will get visitors frm it
