So Rupert Murdock is planning on charging for online news content. I've heard two different sides to this, some saying it's a disgrace and others claiming it could be a good thing. Would love to know your thoughts on the issue. Reply here or to my blog

Well, he won't get many clients xD there are millions of web sites that deliver free news, why in the hell someone is going to pay for it?

I agree, but some people have said that News Corp charging will force them to improve their content and change the way they deliver it to suit the reader. If that's the case, would people be willing to pay, just like they do for a newspaper for example?

Newspaper is real, it's made of paper! Online news aren't real, they're virtual! Nothing will thrown down newspapers!

I posted this link on the thread about blogging replacing newspapers, but think it's relevant here, too. As print sales die off and the focus shifts to online content, do we really expect newspapers to continue to make this kind of investment without generating revenues? For how long do you think they'd stay in business?
