You should find out a little about "Blondinbella" a swedish 17 year old who's blog has approximately 300.000 readers a week. It has been estimated that she has made several hundred thousand of it, if not millions.

Started as a blog, went to ad-sales and Pay-per post type blogging, from there came a webshop and she is constantly growing her "empire".

Pretty impressive for anyone, let alone someone not even 18 yet.
    1. vijayanths
very inspiring dear friend, thanks for the info.

Thanks for the "time saver" compliment. I appreciate it.
You will find that I have included links to useful tools for ESL bloggers to use in my post.

Depends on two things, I'd think.
    1. Whether the blog is interesting to a fairly large percentage of English-reading people
    2. How easy it is to understand what the non-English-speaker is writing
Point #2 doesn't mean 'writes like someone who grew up speaking English.'

English is a rather flexible language, and a number of people (including a few members of my family) 'write in a dialect.' It's not quite standard English: but it's little to no trouble, trying to figure out what happened.
    1. vijayanths
      absolutely right.fully agree with you.
  6. roentarre
It is just simply too hard
    1. vijayanths
but don't lose hopes so easily.
  7. LaMirabelle
In blogging in English or in their own language?
  8. BaiMaleiha
Oh Yes! Blogs are created with a purpose. That is why we have themes for every blog for this tells the readers on what to expect.

IF you want a non-english written blog, then you can still capture readers who speak or write the same language that you have for your blog. If you noticed, there are photo blogs which do not require much words, just mere photos.

I intend to write a blog using my town's dialect soon. Take care all!
    1. vijayanths
      thanks for the views.

They can, but it would be a little difficult if people don't understand their language because it'd be hard to understand them.

Maybe next time, in my blog, I can make some entries written in Filipino.
    1. vijayanths
      thx for the info.
  10. creativeindia
It would be a lil difficult but not too much
    1. vijayanths

I am non-English speaking, I mean English is not my native language and I do ok in blogging
    1. vijayanths
thats really great. hats off. but when u live in the USA that will not be a problem at all I guess. I am an Indian residing in India, how abt this?
  13. Aoi
Absolutely. Certainement. I know some Japanese bloggers doing very well in Japanese. As long as your language has enough readers, you'll be fine. It all comes down to traffic, after all, so if your language is Basque, you may be in a spot of trouble.
    1. vijayanths
nice to know those info, thanks Aoi.

I believe you can be successful in anything if you put your heart and soul in that. Plus you need to have self-belief! You might be successful very quickly or you might spend a lot of time doing mistakes but then suddenly wow...you start making money!
    1. vijayanths

I doubt whether google would allow you doing it in blogger site?
  17. Frusketer
Absolutely! It's totally possible - my native language is Spanish and I run a few Spanish language sites and they make decent income every month -

I'ts all about finding the popular niche for the language you want to write in - I left a recommendation on one of your other discussions about using pagerank.net - you can also download goodkeywords - as this is a good free keyword research software that New Marketers should use.

Check out my internet marketing blog.
    1. vijayanths
      quite inspiring Frusketer,thanks.
  18. MissAttica
I would think it is possible, but I haven't earned anything myself, so I really couldn't say...

    Hello,
I'm a native Arabic speaker, but blogging in French as it is my second language; It is difficult to find readers and to be well ranked in google, but I'll give it a try for some months and I may switch to english (so the blog will have both french and english sections )
In my point of view, about the initial question, you have just to start, it will be sooo difficult in the beginning, and it will be easier after the 101st post :o) Good luck!

Many non english speaking were successful in blogging and you can be successful too. English is just my third language and I am new to blogging and want to be successful in blogging too. A 13 year old blogger here was successful in blogging and he was on top 9 in the making money online blog in the top 100 in 45n5.com.
    1. vijayanths
very inspiring news there, keanxy, thanks.

ENGLISH SPEAKING IS NOT IMPORTANT ABSOLUTELY..[FOR BLOGGING]
IMPORTANT IS YOUR ONLY...ENGLISH WRITING SKILL...
    1. timethief
FWIW typing in all capital letters in cyberspace is considered to be equivalent to SHOUTING into someone's face. It's a habit that all English as a second language people should avoid acquiring.

I do visit some blog where it's obvious that the blogger has not mastered the English language. This is most frequently seen when it comes to tenses and when it comes to singular and plural forms. Provided that the information in the posts is useful I continue to read the blog. I feel completely different when I experience text speak in blog posts. I click out of those blogs and do not return.
  23. Hangingonahyphen
I don't speak English, I don't have any formal training in writing or even a college degree. So that's why blogging is quite a struggle sometimes.
    1. vijayanths
I understand, but try to hang on , then you will succeed.
  24. searchingwithin
Personally, I use a lot of sites that give me valuable information that are from people who's second speaking language is English. Sometimes, I wish they spoke better, but usually, the sites I have used, the author is very well at explaining what they are trying to convey, even though they leave a word out, or don't use the correct grammar, etc.

Maybe I have just read enough of them, that I have become accustom to the stumbles on the language enough to understand what they are saying.

The point is, even though your words may not flow as fluently as someone who uses my language naturally, I still understand. Hell, many people that grew up with the English language have a hard time using all the rules right. Including myself.
    1. vijayanths
It is true that the content is more important than the language. But if there are too many grammar errors and if the flow is not there, it may annoy the reader. I can't agree with your last line about you. You are humble.
    2. searchingwithin
I find it much more annoying when people don't use paragraphs, and capitalize the beginning of a sentence, or use texting talk/shorthand.
  25. richardworks
Nothing is impossible! Even thought they can speak or write English very well they can still be successful. There are lots of software or web tools that can translate different languages to English like translate.google.com/translate_t?langpair=ru|en#, but still its up to the content of their blog if its going to be successful or not.
    1. vijayanths
      thanks for your views, richardworks.
  26. busylizzy
I think your English is very good and won't hinder your success in English-speaking markets. And, I assume, your Hindi is great, too! You will succeed in 2 different arenas! Good luck to you!
  27. vijayanths
Glad to note you know about India's largest spoken language hindi. But I don't know hindi at all. My mother tongue is Tamil, one of the oldest languages of the world. Thanks busy.
    1. busylizzy
Oops! Sorry about making an assumption...
  28. Jeunelle
YES and placing a Google Translator on your site can also help to drive more global bloggers to it.
I have one placed on my site though my site is primarily English and I don't speak 2nd language
but I do have people coming in via my Statcounter from India, China, Iceland, Russia, Croatia,
    Madrid, Kathmandu, etc

www.JeunelleFoster.com (you can see both placed here)
    1. vijayanths
Yes, that's a great idea jeunelle. thanks for the info.

  30. Takumi86
depend on your content if you just making a post without giving description meaning you just share your picture and any kind of material there then it probably will

But for giving such a huge amount of post, then use english is a must that if you want other people from different country know and understand to what you are trying to say
    1. vijayanths
      you are absolutely right Takumi.
  31. vijayanths
@busylizzy. any one in your shoe could not have made a better assumption, sometimes even your best guess fails though. I am really glad you know something about India.
  32. dexed
I've come to realise one thing, standards are there as a guideline not as an order that must be followed, a little deviation here nd there is normal, as long as you can convey your message to 50% of your audience. Even well written works are misunderstood by some good readers of the used language.
And as for you, judging by ur replies here, ur written English is ok.
  33. Halconite
    Syempre naman!...
  34. sorcerer
    Yeah..look at me.
The way i write looks like ze englize
  35. daryanto70
My english is not good but I try to keep learning
    1. jeremyjanson
Looks like a good start. Keep it up!

Wouldn't have realized you had trouble unless you told me. That sentence is, as far as I can tell, correct. A little doggerel I guess, but grammatical and understandable.
  36. jeremyjanson
If you mean in Blogging, of course. There are plenty of nonenglish speaking people on the web.

I don't know where you're located, however, so if you mean in a primarily English speaking country (US, Canada, Bermuda, UK, et al), technically, but it's easier to learn English then try.
  37. Agit8r
America's 8th President, Martin Van Buren spoke English as a second language.
